WTF Is Overtraining?

Back to the daily grind today after a lovely week off with my new little boy. I haven’t eaten properly for 9 days though so I was scared of what to expect when I got back to the gym, I was hoping I hadn’t dropped too many lbs but I weighted in at about 226 again so I was happy with that

AM
Squats

3x 308
2x3@ 374
6x 330
10x 308

Single Leg Leg Press
3x10@ 194

RDL
3x10@ 220

Woodchoppers (Top to Bottom)
2x10 @ 121

The squat improvement was massive, I guess that’s due to the week of recovery after training 10 times a week for about a month. If I’d have eaten well over that break I imagine the gains would have been a lot better

PM

Pushup / Squat / Supine Row / Toe Touch (RDL sim)
Descending Reps (10,9,8…) 0

Just did this, found it harder than before I went away, my legs were still tired from the heavy squats this morning

AM

I'm not even going to post my training today, it was so poor I'm too ashamed to put the figures up. I didn't get much sleep last night but that's not a real excuse. My right arm is still pressing less than my left and it's pissing me off

I had to push my morning session back to PM today as I didn't get much sleep last night. Nothing to do with the baby though, my brother in law is in hospital with a mystery virus/infection that the doctors though was Meningitis but after a lumber puncture realised it wasn't. Because of this we looked after his 1 year old son last night who's a little bugger about going to bed and I ended up with just a few hours sleep.

Anyway, I'm gonna do the lunchtime training at home tonight, not sure how I can do supine rows at home though

Pushup ISO's + Supine Row Iso's
4xvarious (aiming for 45 seconds)

DB Snatches
3x15 @ 49.5

DB High pulls
3x15 @ 55

Supermans
4 x 8 seconds

I have really severe DOMS this week so the iso stuff hurt like hell. I think I've gained weight though as I'm starting to look big again :D

I did get in for training this morning, just haven't had time to post details yet, it was a good one though, I can't believe how much stronger my legs have become recently!

I weighed in at 228 too which was pretty cool

Thursday PM is the session where I get to do whatever I want. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should do?
I’ve generally been using to add some Iso stuff as my body aches too much to do the big compounds but if anyone things they spot an area that my regular training neglects then please post it here
:)

This was yesterday AM

Leg sled (bars all taken, I’ll have to catch up with deadlifts another time)
5x 352
2x10@ 418
12x 418

Split Squats
3x10@ 198

Glute Raises
3x10@ 154

Woodchoppers (bottom to top)
2x10 (forgotten weight)

PM

Military press
5x 132
3x4@ 132
3x132

(I aim to get to 5x5 @ 132 then move up)

Bicep curls
2x8@ 105
7x 105

(once I get to 3x8 I’ll increase weight)

I add today’s once I get a little more time at work

damn you curl a **** load of weight! Do you curl strict without moving the upper arm, or do you "cheat" (not that cheating has to be a bad thing or anything)

At least the first 6 are perfect form but sometimes reps 7 or 8 will have a very small 'cheat' element to them.

I forgot to add, I usually end with a couple of very slow negatives at a higher weight too

This is with a EZ bar, you know that right? Not 105lbs in each hand

I've always considered my biceps to be relatively weak

AM

BB Row
3x198
6x176
10x176

I feel my strength with this increasing but I was getting a little pain in my lower back though

Single arm cable row
3x10@ 165

Single arm cable press
3x10@ 121

DB shrugs
2x10@ 198
15 x 198

PM
Running intervals but on the street rather than treadmill

What do you guys thinkabout this place as a wedding venue?

So no opinions?
