Weight-Loss WL competition TEAM GOLD

Weight-Loss
While I have difficulty with the weight loss points - I have got 4 points today.

I have just spend 1hr 45 mins on the treadmill and done 7 miles at 4mph.

While I was exercising I drank 2 litres of cold tap water.

That is 2 points for exercise and 2 points for drinking water.

Aargh, so not cool....:angelsad2:

Sorry guys I'm up and it's pissing me off. I have been under my caloric limit for the last week plus, I have been exercising and all, but Mother Nature is not my friend at all.:cuss:

I will do better next time, and hopefully she will have packed up and moved on for a bit.

At least I will definitely get all the points with the mini-challenge since 8 glasses is the least amount I drink in a day.

:seeya:

Thanks everybody for your kind words, they mean a lot!

I have been trying to keep up with everything, and I think I did okay. I'm down to 361.7 lbs, not sure what that is percentage wise, but I'll check that out in a second. It's a loss, which is all that matters to me at this point! Did more walking as well, even though it's freezing cold out there!!

I don't know if the question has been answered already, but for the challenge, would flavoured water (sugar free) be alright? I can't stomach plain water. :/

A question about the water...

As far as the challenge is concerned - does this need to be tap water?
Does bottled sparkling water count?
Does bottled water with a hint of flavour count?

water is water in my book...as long as your not asking if pop counts.

LOL that's great. Thanks Korrie.

I have tap water when I am on the treadmill or doing zumba - but when watching tv I prefer sparkling water with a hint of flavour.

There was no problem today as I did the treadmill so had tap water - but might have been a problem on Sunday...

A 4.7 pound loss is brilliant - particularly in what has obviously been an incredibly stressful week.

You did dramatically better than "okay". You should be very proud of this accomplishment.

You are a star to have done more walking too... I am not surprised as I remember how focused you can be...

It is cold in all that snow... I did my walking today on the treadmill as my hands were totally numb when I got back indoors when I went outside walking yesterday... I struggled to turn the key in the lock when I got home - my hands were so cold (despite wearing gloves)...

I find that I usually go up before a bigger loss, so next week will rock the scale! Good job on the calories and the mini challenges. :)

Full points for the mini challenge yesterday, and I am already half way through today's. I just wish I could count the water that I mix with coffee powder as well....;) I am drinking coffee as if it is going out of fashion, which I know isn't good. I'll definitely have to work on that over the next week.

The most stressful things are sorted now, just have to get through the next week, the funeral and having the in-laws around, and then things should slowly calm down. Of course we still need to clear the house afterwards - I wonder if I can count that as exercise?

Did about half an hour of walking this morning, but had to stop because it was just too cold. Taking deep breaths actually made my throat and chest hurt, so I will try to get 30 - 60 minutes in inside later on, for full points.

I did a reply to this yesterday but it isnt there... Maybe I didnt hit the submit button... :blush5:

Many of us find Mother Nature to be a major nuisance - especially when trying to lose weight... It doesnt tend to be as big a problem for me these days (I'm 53 now) but when I was in challenges in 2008 / 2009 there will be tons of threads with me complaining about losing 12 days of weight going down every 28 days... I was so predictable... I had to get my entire month's weight loss into the other 16 days...

The bottom line is that you do get the weight loss during the month - because you are earning a reduction in your fat deposits... Unfortunately it is masked by the water that you retain during TOM... Our scales are stupid and weigh all of us - fat, food, retained water, muscle, skin... the whole thing... the fat goes down and water goes up and you gain weight... All we can do is drink plenty of water in the hope that we can persuade our bodies to release the water asap...

I have actually heard that exercise is more effective for weightloss during TOM... It certainly has been posted on this forum by people who I know research the things that they post... With luck, the exercise that you are currently doing will bring you great rewards.

These things even out over time... A well disciplined exercise routine and firm nutritional control can make all our dreams come true... If it could do it for me it could do it for anyone... Keep on doing what you are doing... The rewards will be yours.

San - maybe Korrie can give you a ruling on the house clearance as exercise thing... It may for example depend on how active the activity was... House clearance certainly includes stuff that will burn calories (like for example shifting furniture)...

I think that you are doing brilliantly to be claiming points and losing weight in the most difficult of circumstances... You are a very busy lady when things go smoothly with a disabled stepchild to look after...

The weather is too cold for me too... I have bought some gripper things to fit on my shoes for walking in the snow and ice... They are all the rage in at the minute... I have started wearing two pairs of gloves... A pair of thin rubber gloves (the kind that doctors wear) and a woolen pair of gloves over them... It sounds mad but seems to be better...

Saturday has been another good day for me with 4 points claimed...

I have had 2.5 litres of water.

For exercise I have done an hour of salsa and an hour of zumba and a fair bit of outdoor walking... My pedometer is over 30,000 steps... Maximum exercise points claimed again...

I an hour walk yesterday and 2.5 l water ( actually more but I stopped counting), today I've walked for over an hour and I'm up to 1l so far, but will get to 2l no worries!

You're doing so well to be getting out in the ice and snow omega.

Omega, Anna - you guys are doing really well! :hurray:

I did my 60 mins exercise & drank my 2 l water - so all is good.

Hope you have a nice weekend!

Thanks. :)

Well done Anna and Justina. :hurray:

GOLD is doing really well in this challenge.

Short of a major disaster I should get maximum points for both the exercise and the water... I do more than an hour of exercise on a bad day and I have drank a minimum of 2 litres of water for absolutely ages... The truth is that I have long known that I should drink 1 oz for every 2 pounds of weight and when I was at goal it calculates to 2 litres... I was in denial when I gained weight and kept on drinking 2 litres of water... I only increased it to 2.5 litres a couple of weeks ago and am still struggling with the extra half litre...

Drinking water is much easier on the days that I do zumba or walk on the treadmill... I go through a fair bit of water when I am actually doing the exercise which I don't tend to need when walking outdoors...

The weight loss aspect is the area where I run into problems... It does come in time - but tends to be tricky for me...

LOL - it does not surprise me that GOLD had the best exercise points.

As San says in her signature "BOW TO TEAM GOLD!!"

Well done GOLD.

Lets do it again this week. And stun them with our water points too...

Got my one hour exercise out already.

Woke up an hour earlier than I had to to get it out before church because I know today is going to be hectic and I am trying to earn ALL my exercise points everyday this week.

Check back on you guys later.

p.s. Why is Taebo still harder than some of these newer exercises, had to do the 8 minute one to make my quota and 8 minutes still kicked my butt... or maybe the body was tired from the Zumba and Taebo was pushing it.:seeya:

Transparent - well done for doing today's exercise... It will be brilliant if you get all your exercise points this week... It will be brilliant if we all do...

:biggrinjester:

If you ever want to do 8 minutes of zumba - just click on a couple of links in the posting where I was talking about my favourite zumba tracks... I am always playing those you tube clips... They are brilliant for dancing around at home... I love zumba but do not have zumba every day... I often have a zumba fix on the non-zumba days... I play them when I am on the treadmill too...
