Weight-Loss WL competition TEAM GOLD

Weight-Loss
Wow - that will be a challenge! I can do any thing for a week. Lets see if it gets some results! I am also wondering about tea. I won't add any sugar or cream but some varieties still have a few calories per cup. Also what about a splash of lemon or lime juice in water? I'm ok if we don't count them - I just want to know what the expectation is. :)

looking at the wording (I copied it into the above post) - your tea with no milk or sugar should be fine. Quercus says that the calories are burnt with swallowing it and are negligible... Since actual lemon and lime juice is very low in calories I suspect that will be ok too. Quercus will need to make a ruling regarding concentrate... Maybe it depends on whether it is labelled "low calorie" - but that is for Quercus to give the ruling...

Hey all, I met the goals again today, more than 2l of water, and and 2 hours of heavy gardening.

It'll be hard to lose the milk from my latte's next week. Uh oh.

Well done Anna!

Maybe it will be easier to deal with the lattes if you get the enhanced weight loss that Quercus thinks we all may have...

That notion has helped me deal with challenge changes over the years... I do most things - but there are a couple of things that I wouldnt do... Luckily they do not come up in challenges too often... I'm not saying what I wouldnt do incase it gives the other teams any ideas...

I have done 7 miles on the treadmill today at 4mph so that is 1hr 45mins of exercise... I will do some more exercise later as Tuesday is my big salsa night...

I had 1.5 litres of water while I was on the treadmill so am well on my way to completing the bonus too... I will post more later.

All the mini challenges run from start of Friday to the end of Thursday.

We are still doing the "drinking water" mini challenge until the end of this Thursday.

We just need to prepare ourselves for the thing starting soon...

This is going to be hard, I can give up the fruit/veggie juice, but since I already have tea with very little sugar.... maybe this will be the push I need to eliminate sugar from my teas.

This will be difficult as I don't drink flavoured teas and black tea by itself is not very tasty :ack2:..... urgh.... this is only for one week right, because other than tea and my veggie/fruit juice I only drink water...

Transparent - maybe you could use low calorie sweeteners. Possibly Quercus can advise on whether they are allowed... I suspect that they will be since diet drinks are and they often contain sweeteners... some people have lemon with their tea...

It may be an opportunity to try different diet drinks... Quercus did say that they are ok... I only tried a brand of spring water with a hint of grapefruit flavour a couple of weeks ago and found out that I really like it...

Yes - this is just for the one week running from this Friday to the following Thursday.

Hey Transparent, it's good that you only drink juice, tea, and water. Sugar is out. You can use artificial sweeteners like splenda as they have no calories. I personally am going cold turkey without even artificial sweeteners, but that's not required.

I like plain black tea and coffee, but I didn't at first. Push yourself to develop a taste for it and earn yourself some extra points. It may not be easy, but that's why it's called a challenge.

I have now finished off the 2.5 litres of water that I shoot for...

So that is 4 points that I can claim again today.

I guess its just plain water for me since I don't do the artificial sweetener route.

On the bright side, exercise and water intake is finished for me. Yippee... :hurray:

Transparent - ever tried stevia? it's not artificial (made out of stevia plant - i actually had the plant when i lived in Europe - the leaves are sweet!!) Anyway they are zero calories too. just an idea.

My exercise level has been high high high today...

I don't expect to get too many more steps on my pedometer today - but after 7 miles on the treadmill plus some outdoor walking and 2.5 hours of salsa dancing my pedometer is currently showing 34,257 steps so far today...

Great job on the 7 miles on the treadmill Omega.

Rest of team amazing :) - how are you all doing?

I am really impressed with my exercise today - the most I've done in a long time.
60mins eliptical & 20 mins treadmill! I was soooo pleased!
Water 2.5l!!

Wow that's a lot of steps omega, I made it to 19500 today :)

So I drank heaps of water, well more than 2 litres, and went for a 1 1/4 hour walk on top of pushing a mower around for an hour.

Food wasn't great, I've got a sore throat and ate some comfort food. Oh well, I'll try harder tomorrow.

Anna - sorry about the sore throat. I hope that improves soon for you... Comfort food gets extra tempting at such times... Your steps were pretty good too... That was probably nine miles or more that you clocked up... :) Well done!

Justina - excellent max point scoring again too. No wonder you are pleased. You have every right to be.

This team is earning points and really setting the pace in this challenge - just as I knew we would...

I am so proud of how well we are ALL doing.

:grouphug:  :grouphug:

GOLD!!! - winners from the start

I've done 4 miles on the treadmill at 4mph so that secures the exercise points for today (Wednesday)... I have a Zumba class later on with a little outdoor walking so I am trying to keep my exercise levels high.

My step count will not get as high as yesterday though as I get in a lot of steps on my big salsa night...It means a lot of moving and no chance to sit down...

LOL I have had 2.5 litres of water and am still drinking some more... Challenge points secured...

I have done the walking and the zumba which I predicted earlier... An hour of zumba is a great way of getting through the water... I always get through a litre of water every time I do an hour of zumba.

Got through all my challenge points today, even though I was behind on the water. Had a few errands to run and did not want to have to stop every and anywhere for restrooms breaks, :willy_nilly:

My thighs are killing me, I am sore, and what is that muscle in front of the calf? Whatever it is, that and my knees have been angry with me all day, and yippee, in about 12 hours from now I have to go back and put a punishing on them again.

p.s. can't wait for at least 2 more weeks to go, the soreness will still be present, but at least it wont be as much.:toetap05:

Transparent - Well done for getting maximum points again  If you are getting pains in your legs it may be worth experimenting with stretches before and after exercising... I do stretches at my zumba and aerobics classes.

I certainly know about tired legs though... For instance - my legs were tired at the end of yesterday's salsa... I have done some 10,000 steps (approx 5 miles) less today than yesterday... my pedometer is on 25,484 steps... It is fair to say that it takes more steps to get me tired now than it used to... We do get used to such things...

I know all about planning toilet breaks when out and about... I didnt have a treadmill for the majority of my big project and went outside walking every day in all weathers... I became quite an expert in where there were toilets that I could use... I can understand you wanting to limit your water until after your walk - but it is very useful to know where all the toilets are... I even arranged that I could pop into places like my doctor's surgery if I was passing when walking (she was after all very much in favour of me losing weight) and the adult education centre...
