Weight-Loss
Anna, Transparent, Omega - you guys are all doing great!!

Today I did belly dancing for 45 min :hurray:, body sculpting 15 min & 5 min stretching.
Also I tried to keep busy the whole day - making sure i don't sit around too much.
Water - 2l!!
All going great....it's almost weigh in day.

hugs all around :grouphug:

Howdy fellow winners! I'm taking care of business. Lots of water and exercise and staying on target with calories. It'll be a full points week for me.

Well done Justina, Quercus and Ijustwannabefit

we are so motivated!!!

we are such winners!!!

WE ARE GOLD!

It may not be the most informative picture to remind you to do those stretches but it may be the most amusing and memorable...

it was my Zumba teacher taking us through our stretches a few months ago...

Think of the penguin and do those stretches... hopefully they will help. :)

I have been on the treadmill and done 4 miles at 4mph... That is my exercise points for today secured... :)

I will get on later and get some more steps done. I am on a challenge on another diet forum and I only get my point if I do more steps than that!!! Many of you haven't known me for long - but I think that you know that I will get that point... :biggrinjester:

No salsa tonight!!! No salsa on Saturday either!!! Rod's not been well and to make matters worse his ankle is all swollen and very painful... He cannot walk never mind dance... I sorted him out some painkillers and he is off work... No classes today or tomorrow... Nothing until Zumba on Saturday... With the snow not tempting me out - I can see that I will be glad that I have the treadmill...

That penguin is tooo funny ahahaha!!!

I m not doing really well with my weight guys..since i m doing everything well - my food is good & i exercise every day - I think - actually I am pretty sure I am retaining water..boohoo... (ToM)
I was down 3lbs from last Friday now I am only down 1 lb.
Good news is that i m getting full points for water challenge & exercise.
& Even if I don't lose that much this week - the water will go down by next week - and i make up for it..
we shall see.

Hope you all have a good day!

Justina - You are doing brilliantly... :)

You can do no more than be strong with your food control and your exercise... You are doing that.

Between water retention and food weight - the weight loss on a week by week basis is in the lap of the gods... It is excellent that you were down three pounds just a few days ago... it really doesn't matter if you have bounced up before this week's weighing... You have worked hard and lost the fat... It doesnt matter if there is a higher weighing because you are carrying more water. The only weighing that really counts is the last one... By the end of week 10 you will have burnt so much fat with all your hard work that you will have left your current weight far behind.

I have had my water and can claim those points too for today (Thursday).

I have also done the extra exercise that I wanted to get done. :)

I expect a lot of the weight loss numbers to be lower this week as lots of people were starting their weightloss or really increasing their efforts with this contest and the first week will have the biggest numbers by far.

I'm on for water and exercise for today. I'm skipping dinner due to a large and late lunch with uncertain calories. The meal was worth it. I had an alligator sandwich with spicy garlic fries. A po' boy for those familiar with cajun food. It was yummy!

Hi guys, not doing all that well.

It was cold here last night, got into the sixties, and looks like it will stay there for the rest of the week, I was cold as all heck, and my knee and hip started acting up.:nopity:

Was too exhausted to do exercise this morning, I mean, I got out an hour of exercise, but not the intensity that I was maintaining. My food choices as I was feeding the elderly today were limited, so I just ate what they ate, and it was not healthy at all, as the food was a treat for them.

My weight is not moving, actually it is, it is going up, this is depressing as because other than today, I have been doing at least an hour of exercise and eating below my maintenance level. :(

I don't know what is going on, can't blame Mother Nature, but, the good news is, that my clothes are feeling looser, and I have lost an inch off my waist, BUT THE SCALE IS NOT MOVING :banghead:....

Ah well, sorry to vent, going to bed, where I am sure I will be depressed tomorrow morning when I weigh it, because I fully expect the scale to be up.:cuss:

Alligator sandwich for real? whats that??

Transparent - i feel your pain - we shall see tomorrow (besides scale can be misleading - especially if your cloths are loose)

Omega - thanks for your words - cheered me up.

Good luck with the weigh in everyone!!

PS/ I m all dressed for the gym - I m on my way out - not feeling too well - but i wanna end the week with a full house - getting all the points i can get - and i m only missing one hour of exercise. So i ll do treadmill =walking. Done the 2l of water.

I've just weighed in.

I know that it doesnt sound much compared to the numbers that you all pulled in last week - but believe me it is really good for me...

Anyway - I got on the scales and it was 9st 9.4lbs or 163.4 pounds...

That is over 1% down on last week and 2.16% down since the start of the challenge.

With my body at this size, I couldn't have hoped for more.

Everyone - don't worry about the scales... My delight in the above posting had its roots predominantly in the fact that my scales seem to have been stuck for over a week and have only just moved down...

We all want to see the scales go down - but the Friday weighing really isnt important for the challenge until the last week... We will work hard in the last week (the week before Easter) so that looks as good as it can...

For instance that would be a really good week to try to avoid eating anything high sodium and it would be a good week for us to remind ourselves of the water drinking that we have done in week 2.

The important thing is that we work hard all challenge long so that we know we are burning fat (irrespective of what the scales say) by doing consistent exercise... we know that we are eating less calories than we need by keeping firm control of our food...

We will win those challenge points and they will keep us motivated for staying firmly on project.

Feeling the reduction in fat by better fitting clothes is better than weight loss at the scales...

The only person that can see that number at the scales is yourself when you get on the scales (plus possibly your significant other when you yell "come and see this" when you are delighted to see a new low number)...
We have no way of knowing what the skinny person who lives down the road weighs... We just look at the way their clothes fit and want to be thinner...

The fit of the clothes is better than the number on the scales - it is how the world views us...

Feel really good about the fit of your clothes and your achievement.

Well done Omega! :hurray: You did great!

Here are my weigh in results (copied from my score card)

Jan. 25 lost 2.5 lbs & current weight is 263.5 lbs (0.94%) [overall: 8.5 lbs lost & 3.13%]
ex. points 14
mini chall. points 14

So, in the end I m down 2.5 lbs. which is not that bad - It could be better & I hope it will be a bit closer to 4 lbs next week.
Happy weigh in day everyone :)

You can see my sig below, but -2.6 for me. I'm not pleased with that. As a % that isn't enough and I won't make my goal at that rate. Time to bust my butt. I will lose at least twice that for week 3. I will be back on the bike even if I have a tough day in the field that gets my exercise points and I will be under calories each day.

Gold is still kicking butt! Good work team!

I've had two good weeks of loss so I am due for an increase this week - my body does that and I'm not sure why... Oh well, that should mean the week after will be good again. ;)
It might help if I remember not to drink my calories this week. I totally forgot today.

Hey all, I was away for a couple of days, so will weigh in and sortmy points tomorrow morning. I walked heaps on my days away and ate really well so hopeful to see some good news on the scales.

It looks like the team is still motivated, and although the scales don't always show all the hard work, they will catch up eventually!

Well done everyone. We are all doing brilliantly...

As far as the challenge goes all we need to do is remember to exercise for an hour and also not drink calories without checking whether it is allowed...

and of course stick to our individual food plans so that we eat at a level that will give us the weight loss that we are looking for... :biggrinjester:

I got all 4 points yesterday (Friday).

I forgot to post that I did my exercise yesterday - but of course you all knew that I was doing it...

It had to be outdoor walking in the snow as my treadmill needs lubricant and the only can of lubricant that I have found was empty :(... I know that I have another canister of it but the problem is that I have moved house since I last oiled the treadmill... I know exactly where the new can was in my old house but havent located which box the new can is in... it isn't listed on the list of boxes and I have opened all the logical boxes and not found it...

I still have dozens of boxes unopened and not the room to open them...

At the minute we think that we are going to have to buy some more lubricant... annoying as it is over £20 per can...
also annoying as I cannot buy any locally and have to wait until Monday before anyone I can find on the internet will be open to send it out to me... To add to the annoyance, the company that sold me the treadmill and the last lot of lubricant appears to have disappeared... we cannot find their website, their phone number no longer exists, and emails to them are not answered... Also - companies that we know and trust for internet purchases (like Amazon) have it listed as out of stock...

Rod still cannot walk so I have cancelled today's salsa lesson as his ankle is still so swollen he cannot walk... I will still go for my 1 hour Zumba class which will cover off my challenge exercise... then I will do some walking in the snow... I have to go to the supermarket to get some shopping in anyway so walking the couple of miles to and from the supermarket will double as extra exercise...

The only drinks that I had yesterday were water and diet drinks. The two points were therefore claimed. Naturally I didn't know that this had been completed until the very end of the day... I suppose that it was always possible that I would have a mad minute...

In all honesty - there should not be a problem with me getting all the points for this because I very rarely have any drinks that contain calories above that in a diet drink... For instance - the last time that I had a drink which would contravene this rule was November when I had an alcoholic drink at my parents' 70th wedding anniversary party... I often go through Christmas with no alcoholic drinks...

At the end I had the 2.5 litres of water which the calculation gives for someone my weight. If we had still been getting points for water drinking they would be mine...
