Close on the heels of the horse passing as well. That's a tough one on the family. Hang in there.

5 lbs is nice. Is that from this W30 thing you're doing or is that due to activity and other efforts as well?

Poor dog. Wishing you and the family all the best.

Unfortunately, our old dachshund is not doing well at all. She's 15 and her health has really gone down this past year. Last night I took her to the Vet ER because she was having trouble breathing and stopped eating. They told me she has congestive heart failure and possibly a brain tumor. I have her home with me and on medication, but all she does is sleep and she still won't eat. Talked to my hubby this morning and if she doesn't start eating by Friday, we are going to have her put to sleep. It's never any easy decision, but when they stop eating their quality of life can't be very good, imo. Hoping she feels better and we have a little time left with her, but I kinda have a bad feeling about this.
Jen, we have agreed to make the same decision about our little dog. She's an Australian Silky Terrier. She is 16 & 1/2 & her health has deteriorated a lot in the last year. I think she is almost blind & sleeps most of the day & night & I swear she has doggy dementia. The minute we feel she is suffering we will have her put down. It will break my heart, but I will not let her suffer. I feel for you xoxo

It is hard facing the loss of a family member, hang in there and hope for the best

Thanks! She has improved a bit since starting the meds but still not eating well.

The weight loss is all diet. The diet itself isn't too bad. I eat a lot of bacon :D

Thank you, Lama!

Sending positive thoughts your way.

Appreciate it, Cory!

My heart goes out to you. It is really a decision one does not want to make but we can't let them suffer, either. So hard! :(

Sorry about your dog.. must be so difficult. x

Thank you, sweetie!

Just checking in. Went to the gym for an hour today and still doing W30 (my way). :D Down 6 lbs.

Still hasn't stopped raining long enough to dig the foundation for our house. It's looking like we won't be moving until 2019. Frustrating!

Maybe you can do your 2018 moving in the gym instead. Great place to take out your disappointments and burn some of that frustration. 6 lbs is a nice win and if the first 5 were all diet, you've left yourself room for more.

Progress! That's the moment you can really start to visualize the proportions.

I know, yay! Finally!

Fantastic! When does the build start now that the foundation has been poured?

They have to wait a few days for it to dry out completely. Then they will start the crawl space. I'm thinking framing will begin early April if all goes well and there's no hiccups.

YAY!
Now, stop rain, so Jen's house can get built!

YES!!

Well, I'm still doing W30 my way and I'm down 9 lbs in a little under 3 weeks. I'm hoping to just stay on this plan after the 30 days are over, so I guess it will be more like I'm a W30 Lifer. Like I said before, I'm not 100% compliant, and there's sugar in my bacon, and yesterday I ate 2 Lara bars because I was craving sweets. Anyways this is the longest I've been able to stick to a diet in a long time, so I figure maybe I've hit on something that can work for me in the long term.

It's excellent that you have found something that really works for you, Jen.
How exciting it will be to see that framing go up! Fingers crossed......stay away rain!

Hi everyone! I've been super busy with life, house, and other stuff.

Just wanted to update ...

I am down 18 lbs! Yes!!!!! Finally. I did that round of W30 and lost about 10. I have kept off obvious sugars since mid Feb - no cakes, cookies, breads, etc. That got me down a few more pounds and now I'm on week 3 of my 2nd round of W30 and down 6 or so pounds, so my weight is 181.8. Back in feb, I was a bit over 200.

The sugar cravings are pretty much completely gone and I'm not even eating the Lara bars anymore. I usually just have a piece of fruit or some almonds at night. My goal this time after I finish the W30 is to nix the chips for good. So, no obvious sugar, bread, or chips. I'll still eat ketchup and dressings.

I could be doing better with exercise. I had some issues with my shoulder and back and stopped lifting. I'm going to try easing back into it. I'd really like to get a bike ...

The house is coming along! Another Finally! :D
