The time has come

Less than 48 hours til closing. Eating off paper plates and plastic forks the next couple days. Everything else is boxed up.

Probably do some mongolian grill tonight since I can load up on lean meats, veggies, and control the amount of sauce/oil used on my meal.

excited for you bro! been a long road it seems.

I think I've put on 2" on my biceps in the past week. not eating very clean, but I must've moved 5 tons of stuff by hand.

Can't wait to get my money from the sale of our house in two days. Slowing getting back into a daily routine. Still figuring out which gym to join since Gold's is too far away now...its an excuse to not drive 25 mins each way just to workout, and I don't need excuses :)

Still alive, and hope to have the home pc setup tomorrow.

Congrats on your new home!!!

You know if you ask JohnnySolo real nice like, I bet he'd send you the specs on his home gym/rack....

Make your own - then no excuses.. :)

I'm just sayin ;)

How exciting to be in your new place! Gotta love that! :)

Get your stuff together, and then you can figure out how you are going to set up your *home* gym!!!! :cool3:

Congrats again!!!

Well we about have the basement setup, and as usual, it looked a lot bigger before we put stuff in it, lol.

I think we're holding off on cardio equipment and instead joining the 24 hour 'self service' gym just up the street, and buy a few more dumbbells for stuff at home.

I have a couple PTO days in early October and we'll finally be done with setting up the house, we'll cancel our Gold's memberships and do the Snap Fitness thing for a while.

Ain't that always the case...lol

Sometimes it just takes a little adjusting, moving things around till it all fits...lol :D

Glad to hear it is coming along though! You'll be all unpacked before you know it!

I'm still alive! They closed off the firewall at work some, making it harder to goof off on the clock.

Anyhow, we're mostly settled in, and I have a couple of vacation days this week. Today we are ditching the Gold's Gym membership and signing up at a SNAP Fitness like a half mile away (I could even walk there on the bike path a block away).
Also updating the DMV, getting new tags for our cars (just a coincident/killing two birds with one stone), and I gotta change my concealed carry license to the new address as well to avoid a misdemeanor.

All of this is on hold though as I await the sprinkler repair guys...we have a leaky control valve and I need the system winterized.

Life is almost back on track it seems.

Very cool! Glad to hear things are moving along....:) You'll have to do something about that firewall at work....lol

We have a toilet we are switching out today, and then brush cut the yard tomorrow. Also getting ready for winter......

Well sadly the new gym has no squat rack. Smith machine, but no freeweight rack.

Oh well, lunges and deadlifts for now... 6 months from now we might go to a newer place that has a pool and all kinds of cool 'extra stuff' for about 2x the price of this Snap Fitness.

Been getting into the new gym kinda regularly now, at least for cardio (which I hate). But its getting to be more steady, and the plan starting tomorrow is to go in the morning, early, before work to get some slower/stead state cardio in, and then the evenings will be for either resistance training or additional cardio at a higher intensity.

we are also being better about what we're cooking. though the mrs. did make chocolate cupcakes for her birthday.

little update...just got home from a 30 minute cycling session at the gym. if your gym has 'expresso' bikes, you should check them out. kind of a fun way to keep up on things.

I think I'm gonna play on the Wii board later too, as we picked up Wii Fit Plus which replaces the original disc and adds more stuff, and more options like 'designed' workouts for set time periods. Then you're not constantly flipping through the menu just to get a 20 minute yoga stretch in, ya know?

If anyone else has Wii Fit, you should get the Plus that just came out. Only $20 if you have the board already.

Man, 6am came early, but I got up, downed a scoop of 100% ON whey, and headed to the gym to ride the expresso bikes.

I stopped at 5.5 miles, but it was a new track that was a steady uphill climb. Ride time was 29 minutes...about right for steady state, fasted cardio.

I gotta say, I feel like I'm starving today. My body always seems to crave more food when I start getting 'on the wagon' more.

Hey there

Don't forget that when you start something new, it takes time to adjust to.

I find that I am hungry alot, especially now that I am doing the grain free diet. But it's normal when we up the exercise.

Are you doing this together, it's cool if you are, it makes it far easier to resist temptation.

My wife made a giant flapjack (used a roasting tin) covered in chocolate icing last week. It's too nice to resist but it all contributes to the podgy area I call a waist :(

Yeah, I keep telling her "you're doing the exact opposite of what we should be eating" and she knows it.

Like many people, food is a 'coping mechanism' for both of us, though luckily neither of us has such a horrible life that we eat THAT much.

Tonight is probably a full body workout. hopefully the gym is empty enough we can do walking lunges without bothering anyone else.

I'm still here and still hittin' the gym.

The holidays and a bad cold kinda got me away from my journal, but I didn't give up.

Monday's are my 'off day' but I did some cardio this morning (elliptical) just to get the week off on the right foot.

Had a good upper body workout today, probably the best in a couple of months.

I fully expect to feel the DOMS tomorrow. Picked up some new under-armour locally and put in an order online at the outlet store. My company will pay for anything up to $150 a year if I let them embroider a logo on it. Just got me some free UA hoodies :)
