No i didn't quit cold turkey, but I've easily slashed my play time in half lately.

right now i'm starting to plan out the home gym. already hbave a great adjustable bench, and dumbells from 5-40lbs (tho i need some 30's and 35's), plus a hammer curl bar, and a heavy bag.

trying to decide on cardio stuff...I'm thinking a pair of stationary bikes, so that we can watch a movie and just cycle the whole time instead of just sitting on our asses.

the gym up the street will have treadmills, elliptical, and more bikes too.

Yesterday we did a good cardio session (had to drag my wife to the gym).

Headed to the gym here in a bit for a full body workout since I slacked off too much last week, no split for me :)

and what a workout that was. a solid 45 minute full body workout, with squats and lunges back to back.

my wife's wanting some $500 elliptical machine that's been on HSN channel all morning. 'but it comes with two Jillian Michaels workout chips!'

Here was my routine for Aug 16, 2009 (in order) Basically all compound movements, 3 working sets, 2 of one movement and 1 of another (soon to be 2 and 2). Had to alter a few things as the gym got crowded and I'd rather keep moving than sit idle to wait for something to open up.

Lat pulldown, wide grip

Seated cable row, narrow grip

Squats (to parallel)

My wife did the same routine with me, just less weight. I know my squat is weak, and I know I need to work on my whole posterior chain because its not my legs that are the weak point. I always feel this wearing my hip flexors first. Plus, I have no ass, so I think my glutes are a weak area.
 
Well last night was a lazy day. I mean, I did mow the lawn and moved some furniture for the move, but I skipped the gym.

Tonight, however, is another full body weight routine, with abs.

Tonight will be some cardio...maybe elliptical. I tried to run the other day and my calves cramped up instantly. Need to work on that flexibility!

He's been away from the iron game for a long time, he needs to build up. Who said he was toning? He's using 10 reps, what's so wrong about that?
remember that heavy is relative.
