Weight-Loss The Blue Team Thread

Weight-Loss
Thanks Loseit88. I will definitely do it slow. I have been run/walking for about 4 days now and I can feel my body wanting to go more. A few years back when I lost weight(stupid me for not keeping it off) I used to run 3 miles/day. It felt great. It is hard on the body. Especially being over 200 pounds. So I will take it slow and work up to it.

Thanks for all the compliments, guys! Knowing that I got the first fifty pounds off and seeing all my work and dedication pay off and all the compliments I've been getting really makes me push on further to get the rest of the weight off!

So far I've only had a bowl of cereal with low fat milk for breakfast and one of my water bottles, and I played DDR for a half-hour and plan on riding my exercise bike later for 10 more minutes.

Hi Linds,

My mom is the same in some ways. My brother that lives w/ her has diabetes. She will make choc. chip cookies for him. ???? Hello????
Then she siits there and says she has sugar issues and is constantly take her sugar readings. little on the hypochondriac side.

:willy_nilly:...........chocolate chip cookies for a diabetic?! That's crazy. If they're sugar free or made with a sugar substitute, cool, but when you give a diabetic sugar that's just asking for them to have to go to the hospital!

Hey Team Blue!

Lindsey- CONGRATULATIONS on your 50 lb goal. THATS AMAZING!

Its awesome that so many of you are running. I can't do that much running yet, but its not one of my goals to start running until I lose another 20 lbs.

The boyfriend wants to go out for doughnuts. But I refused! I'm going to make him eggs instead I think, and I'm going to have honey nut cheerios with skim milk.

I have to remember to eat LIGHTER today. Yesterday was filled with too many carbs.

Have another good day today Team Blue!

Hey folks!

Hope everyone is having a great day, and resisting the treats! I just got finished my lunch and the other girls here at work are breaking open a box of candy/chocolates. I think I'm gonna head out and make a trip to the bank to remove myself from the situation!

I wasnt able to work out on the NT yet again, due to my back pain, but will take the dog for a walk later after dinner. I have been on target with eating and have started my water bottle.

Check back soon!

Hey guys!

Yarmiah, that's a good distraction technique, leaving the room altogether while people are scoffing on chocolates!

Lindsay, what's a DDR? :-/

I did a 5 mile run this morning (in the rain!!) and sit ups, push ups etc afterwards. Set me up nicely for the day, I hope to do the same tomorrow morning!

It's Dance Dance Revolution- it's a video game where you stand on this pad and as arrows go up the screen, you step on the matching arrow on the pad! It's a lot of fun and a great form of cardio.

Oh, I LOVE DDR! I had completely forgotten about that, my friend used to have one when we were about 14... Ooh, I'd say it's a really fun workout!

I know we all have weight loss goals, but does anyone have any other goals in minds, for example, mine is to fit into a lovely dress I bought for a ball in 4 weeks time!

Yes, I do! I have these pair of jeans that swear up and down that they're a 24, but I think they're a much, much smaller size (more like an 18, maybe) because they came from a junior's plus department that I'm dying to wear again. The last time I wore them, I was probably around 270-280....they were huge on me when I was down to 250.

Okay, working from home today and sometimes as much as I love it, too much easy access to the kitchen!!!!

Though, very tempted as I made my cup of tea. Love to have an afternoon cookie w/ tea. Literally had the damn thing in my hand and thought, oh just one, big deal. Then I thought of the bonus challenge, the thought, do u really want to lose this wt.?????, Then put the damn thing back and I did, yeh!!!! Instead, not that I am hungry, having a few almonds. Need more water.

Breakfast: 3/4 cup Honey Nut Cheerios, 1/2 cup skim milk.
Lunch: 1 everything bagel with bacon and cheese
Dinner: Taco salad. (taco meat and mexican cheese with lettuce.)

Yummm. Dan doesn't want to go on the walk with me AGAIN. The sun is ALREADY starting to go down. So I'm going to go play DDR for 1 hour.

Tomorrow I am going to pick up my younger brother (of 16) from detention, and we'll take our dogs on a walk for an hour. NOT THAT HE NEEDS THE EXERCISE. He eats 10 times more than me, and his ribs stick out!!! and its not like he has an eating disorder, its in his genes. I'm jealous! lol.

Anyway... I'm going to let my bagel settle before I jump on the DDR mat and make myself sick!

I hope everyone has a great day!! Keep the junk, sweets, and alcohol out of sight and mind.

Make every minute count for something.

Hi there everyone! Sorry for not having come along for a chat earlier but I couldn't get onto the internet. At last, I'm back in civilisation - or at least, back at home where I have proper access and, more importantly, it's easier to resist temptation!

Well, I'm not doing brilliantly guys, I'm sorry. But it's better to be honest. If you want the details, you can read about the past few days in my diary (but it's not that interesting - just boring family stuff!). Let's just say that I lost out on the alcohol bonus for Saturday, and the sweets bonus for Sunday. Not by much, but it counts. However, the exercise went alright so I'm going to try to catch up there.

I've just read Lindsey's earlier post: WELL DONE
Brilliant, fantastic news! I hope you're feeling really proud of yourself, coz you deserve to.

we'll take our dogs on a walk for an hour

bmohearn - I have started a dog walking club and can use all the walkers/miles I can get! Don't be shy and check out the thread under "The Club"

Auburn - honesty is the best policy. Yes you are in a team challenge, but the primary participant is you, and getting YOU healthy. Being honest and accountable is important to changing to a healthier lifestyle! GRATZ! and rembmer today is a new day!

Thanks Yarmiah for your kind words. I'll be doing my best not to let the team down for the rest of the week.

With Day 4 nearing its end... we have 3 days left of the no sweets, junk, or alcohol challenge. Keep in mind that NEXT FRIDAY... only 4 days from now you can wake up and have those things. (as long as it isn't against our next challenge)

NOT that much longer BLUE TEAM! We can do this. 3 Days isn't that long.

Keep up the great work, I am proud of all of you!

Hey teamies! I have done my work out for the day... 128 minutes of DDR! WOW! I burned 770.24 calories in the 2 hours! And for some reason I just can't stop! I am taking a break now. Because I want to cook dinner for the boyfriend <3 (That I've been meaning to do for like... an hour now. lol) I took 10,096 steps JUST in DDR today! I am so proud of myself. That doesn't include all the walking I did at the plaza when I was shopping today. Dan and I kept going from one end of the plaza to the other, and we parked far away from both places. So I PROBABLY got more than 12,000 steps today! My pedometer is really crappy and I can't really afford a good one yet, so I don't keep track of it.

But yeah...

hey all! hope you all had a wonderful workout-filled and junk-free day! i just ate dinner and will workout in about an hour (i am at the hospital allll day long and then have to study so i generally do my workouts at night!)......i can't wait til this friday so i can eat something sweet! i've been missing my skinny cow ice cream sandwiches! anyway let's go blue and let's win it this week!!!!!!!!

Howdee Team!

Today, I finally got a day off from work! (first time since October). I plan to take down the Christmas decoration and finish up some laundry.

I'm happy to say that even though my back is still bothersome, I got on my Nordik Trak anyway and did 40minutes. Normally I do 30-35, but I have not been able to work out this week, and only got walking instead. I had to make up for not walking last night anyway. I may also take the dog for a walk to get the kids from school and add another 30 minutes to the exercise for today!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hey guys, bad news.....the cable and internet at my house got disconnected. I'm on the internet on my laptop through somebody's wireless connection around here, and I don't know if that will last, so here's the deal: Friday, I'll try to get on....if not, I'm out if we go to elimination and I'm sorry.

Hi team, hope everyone is having a good day. Things have been going really well so far with me, although like you keepitoff, I'm missing my popcorn. But it's only for 3 more days so I can deal with it. I'm planning on going to the gym after work tomorrow and that workout will put me over the 300 minutes of exercise needed for the 24 points.

Sorry to hear about you losing your internet connection Lindsey. Hope you can make it back to us.

V.

Hey guys, sound slike we're mostly doing great, don't beat yourselve sup if you miss out on the bonus challenge for one day though!

Another 5 mile run this morning...I'm gonna take tomorrow off exercise to do an essay, I think........but knowing me, I'll squeeze something in!

Keep it up dudes, can't wait til Fri!! xxx
