heat was shocking today, 43c in town when I was there for a doctors appointment. dropped to 41 in the shade where I park my car at home. supposed to be a heat wave on the way, not looking forward to that.
That is horrendous!
spent time coaching this arvo then tomorrow I need to prep to run a class on the weekend and the newly formed Woman's Shed in town. I am on the waiting list for the blacksmithing (coal forge) class and will be doing the welding class as well when the time comes.
You're always on the go.
I think I will stick to soup tonight, too hot to cook much.
I love soup at any time of the year.

Welding and blacksmithing sound like awesome things to learn! I wouldn't want to think about either in high heat though

It would be terrible in the forge for the next 5 weeks, I will see what the weather is like when I get to do the course. I need to buy a neck cooling pack in preparation as recommended by the person who will be teaching. He said he has had people feint next to the forge before from the heat.

The woman's shed in a new non profit group, I was there for the inaugural meeting. As a group it will take on the decorating role for the local country music festival as a fund raiser for the group, the plan is to weld metal sculptures to decorate the festival site so most of the group will need to learn how to weld before the next "Gympie Music Muster" this fundraising will reduce the cost members need to pay to cover insurance. https://www.muster.com.au/

absolute chaos here this morning as everybody overslept by an hour and a half, except little miss who managed not to wake anybody up while running around the house in just her undies.

Oopsie! I don't think I could've left my mom asleep for that long at that age though! Of course we weren't allowed to get up and go downstairs or start playing on our own so that probably didn't help.

Normally little miss sees it as a game to try and get Ds phone when the alarm goes off and run and jump on our bed to tell us the alarm is going off before asking if she can turn the T.V on (answer is usually not until after breakfast and dressed for school) but instead she got a drink from the kitchen and chilled out playing a game she made up with her plushies. D was a little late for work so needed to stay a little later, I got little miss to school on time (just) and son D also got to work on time.

Ds phone has 3 separate alarms we slept through.

Hey, Tru. Just checking up on you & your family. I hope December won't be too full on for you. It's just starting to warm up here & I don't think I'm ready for the heat just yet.

It has been stinking hot with a ton of humidity, while we were down the coast a big hail storm hit town with hail bigger than your hand, lots of damage but our place was ok. then there is this

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe where will this cyclone go, still a long way out but you never know with cyclones, where will it land and how strong will it get on the way in.

From tonight's cyclone update

Tropical Cyclone Jasper is now at category 3 intensity and is expected strengthen further, while tracking south-southwest into the Coral Sea overnight. Jasper is forecast to reach high end category 4 intensity later Thursday and possibly category 5 on Thursday night.

Tomorrow morning my uni results for end of semester exams will be released

Oof on the cyclone. Let's hope it lands somewhere it can't do too much damage. Fingers crossed for your exam results though 🤞

You get so many cyclones near you! I hope this one takes off elsewhere. I'm sure you'll have blitzed your exams, Tru, but please tell us how you went :)

with more up to date tracking the cyclone looks like it will cross far enough north that it will have minimal impact on our normal weather, with possibly a little bit of rain.

When we built our home we had to meet the requirements of the house having to be able to withstand a cat 3 cyclone, the big cyclones usually cross further north but we still need to be vigilant during cyclone season.

living where we are, means we need to make sure the generator always has fuel along with the chainsaw.

Being prepared is a good thing. I hope any people in the cyclone's path can stay safe as well.
