Only one more, hopefully with a bit of rest first.

exam completed a couple of minutes under time, confident I did ok. There were a few of questions I was unsure about but overall not too stressful.

Always great to have the necessary done so you can get to the fun. Enjoy your escapism!

Trying to rearrange to budget to see If I can reasonably afford to go to Supernova in Brisbane on Saturday.

For non geeks and nerd Supernova is a Pop Culture convention for Cosplay and games, movies, comics, anime etc. I can probably afford the train ticket and the entry but would not have a budget to spend in the trade hall and I have not made a costume this year.

I may have to save up for next year and take little miss to her first Supernova

So, so cute. You put a lot of effort in there! Supernova next year sounds like a great plan, Tru.

Bit if excitement here this morning with a fledgling wedge tail somehow getting into the peacock enclosure. D, D and R managed to get it out safely. It was a big ball of fluff with enough mature feathers to fly.

It is great to see the mated pair (They mate for life) that nest down in our back paddock were successful in breeding this year. But they may have been the cause of the demise of our free range chickens a few weeks ago. When the adults stand on the driveway you get a sense of how huge these birds are but knowing not to get too close because they can be aggressive and are about a meter tall when standing on the ground.

How exciting, Tru! They are magnificent creatures. My Dad was very upset with me decades ago when he saw an eagle swoop down on our free-range chickens & I seemed blase about it. "That's nature, Dad" didn't go down so well with him. So many people would shoot these wonderful creatures & that is so, so sad. I get excited whenever I see them.

yep, it is nature, we will incubate some more chickens when it is time to put peacock eggs in the incubator, we simply put the chook eggs in 1 week later than the pea eggs so they all hatch at the same time.

Wow, that's huge! No wonder chickens like to live below trees and shrubbery.

On the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, we will remember them.
Yep, you before us. It is still a national holiday here, but has been expanded to include others from other wars.

Both of my Grandfathers served in the Army during WWI, one saw a lot of combat in France.

As I recall your grandfather (I think) was in the Camel Corps, I remember you posted a very impressive picture and story about him.

We drove R to Brisbane airport for his flight home yesterday, however on the way home we encountered something I had only ever seen in movies and memes. There was a ute driving on the highway in the wrong direction  we hope the motorcycle cops which were finishing paperwork on the side of the road that we had passed a little earlier got him.

Oof, that's scary. Back in the 80s we heard that on the radio pretty often (keep right; we will inform you once the wrong-way driver has left the road) but it's extremely rare these days

heat was shocking today, 43c in town when I was there for a doctors appointment. dropped to 41 in the shade where I park my car at home. supposed to be a heat wave on the way, not looking forward to that.

spent time coaching this arvo then tomorrow I need to prep to run a class on the weekend and the newly formed Woman's Shed in town. I am on the waiting list for the blacksmithing (coal forge) class and will be doing the welding class as well when the time comes.

D is in town checking out pickle ball, too hot for me to have any interest in running around hitting a ball with a paddle lol.

I think I will stick to soup tonight, too hot to cook much.

Welding and blacksmithing sound like awesome things to learn! I wouldn't want to think about either in high heat though
