That's good that you managed to get stuff done in town, Tru. Are you organised for Christmas now? Will the boys be home?

R flew up from Canberra and visited in November for his birthday, and will be working Xmas day which he is looking forward to because of the great holiday loading for the shift, we are not big on celebrating the day. Have not heard from L but expect he will be working as well.

As for here at home we still need to get some stocking stuffers for little miss, it is only little presents in her stocking that are from "Santa" everything else is from family. I helped son D pick a present for his dad D and saw the look of horror on the old lady doing the wrapping stand that is operated as a fundraiser for the local palliative care unit. they were given a larger than normal donation for the odd shaped large box (an electric chainsaw pruning tool on an extending pole)

There is no way we can come up with her requested present from Santa "A real living reindeer" lol

otherwise we are basically all set, including booking a table Xmas eve at son Ds workplace because little miss really wants to go to a restaurant with a menu lol and Xmas eve is pizza night so she can go and sit down and order pizza off a menu and listen to live music.

Read a book on guinea pig care to little miss last night and we need to make a couple of small changes to the cage setup and we have to get a couple more ingredients to bake a guinea pig treat recipe from the book.

I cleaned out the gym this morning and rearranged a few things, the humidity and heat today is horrid so I was dripping wet when I finished. Starting to feel more normal again without the pain, and everything is moving through the system ok so far no side effects.

It all sounds like you are under control. Christmas Day is really a day for the littlies. Asking for a real live reindeer is so sweet! I'm glad you're feeling more normal. We are having some respite from the heat. I think it has only got to 20 today.

Baking guinea pig treats together is such a nice idea!

going to try it tomorrow, it will be the first time I have ever used hay as an ingredient for baking lol the author of the book mentions baking and selling them as a fundraiser for a guinea pig animal rescue.

there is so much more to these rodents than I expected but they were purring in happiness today, they pur like cats.

I love that you're baking treats for the guinea pigs. That would be so funny putting hay into your cooking. Guinea pigs are very cute!

well another new task complete, I had to help give one of the guinea pigs a bum bath with warm water and mild soap (I used the one that I use on my skin that I don't react to) male piggies need regular bathing of the rear end but they have sensitive skin. Still need to give the long hair guinea his.

Hubby is taken with how cute they are, I am amazed at how much work they are for a little kids cuddly rodent pet.

:D Talk about typical :D I'm pretty sure all animals are more work than people think though, and most just don't get their needs met.

I hadn't realised guinea pigs were so much work! I used to end up doing all the work with our pets. Kids always want pets &, of course, Mum does almost all of the work looking after them.
Merry Christmas, Tru. Hope you have a lovely, chilled day with little Miss xoxo

They are more work than the dog, the fish, the chickens and the peacocks lol

I am yet to see them popcorn but that may come when they are more comfortable around us and in an open play area.

Under the tree for me today was a spin bike and a selector type adjustable DB.

Little miss is having a ball with the karaoke machine D graciously labeled as being from me.
later will be a game of operation ouch and tomorrow head to the beach with some new water toys.

D is enjoying his electric Chainsaw on an extension pole which makes it easier to cut lantana

Son D is ensconced in his room with his new gaming chair.

Rocky was not interested in chasing his frisbee, he would rathe play with barbie dolls.

I think we all made a wise decision to not go anywhere near town today. highways into town were at a standstill, helicopters searching the river for bodies, small tornado in town yesterday before the storms in the news even happened. nobody in town has power so shops not open anyway and a big road toll over the xmas weekend, more storms forecast for tonight. no damage here but everywhere else a mess based on video share by others.

As much as I curse our lack of mobile coverage that is caused by the configuration of hills nearby, those same features seem to protect us even from the worst of storms when everybody else gets flattened. As a bonus we still have power.

I saw it on our news last night & came in here to ask how you fared. Phew! It's awful. I'm glad you're OK where you are though!

D has gone into town this morning to get some RAT tests as son is not feeling great and working in hospitality it is not worth the risk of spreading Covid if he has it despite the complacency most people seem to have about it. Very overcast and very humid today but we are glad we have not suffered from the storm although there are more forecast. Some people are seriously struggling with the damage but when will people learn not to fuck around in flood water, the deaths here were avoidable, don't go out sightseeing in a storm.

I hope your son feels better. We're back to working in FFP2 masks if we're feeling mildly crummy but fit enough to come - even that isn't mandatory though. Regardless of whether its covid, flu, or a cold: I don't want people passing it on.
We've been having so much rain the water level is higher than my dad ever remembers it being and it's the thirth stormy day since I arrived but thankfully it doesn't get near as bad as your weather.

People here are just pretending Covid doesn't exist & I doubt many people even test for it. No wonder it's rife in the community. I'm glad your son is considerate. I hope if it is Covid that he gets better a lot quicker than me.

You see them doing that on the news all of the time. How stupid?

he tested negative and feeling better this morning, one of his coworkers had it last week.

it is so hot and humid that just waking out the door make you feel like your dying. Hubby just left to go into town to get an extra fan for the gym and I am making some ice cubes so I can put a few in the dogs bowl and the chickens water.

I would have so much trouble coping with that!
