I'm glad he's feeling better.

I would have so much trouble coping with that!
it is currently 41 C (105.8 f) in the shade on the verandah (i only went outside long enough to read the temp. the only cool spot in the house is the lounge room watching the cricket with the rest of the doors in the house closed. if the doors to bedrooms etc. were open the AC would not make much difference. In bear feet you can feel the heat rising through the timber floors. Walls and ceiling are all fully insulated which helps on hot days but when it is super hot there is not much you can do.

there is another hour or so before temp will peak for the day.

19oC here Tru. Such a difference!
We’re doing well in the cricket. I love Test cricket!

Humidity is 55% I am not sure what the peak was here but people in town are reporting 45

it is 31 outside now at 6:50 pm

I wanted to get some training in today but it is just too hot.

I have managed to get some time on the rower early this morning in front of an industrial fan when little miss was not blocking the flow of air.

it is now too hot and humid to be exercising.

hot steamy with random storms throughout the day. some local roads are flooded and lots of new people in town panicking because of the flood watch on the river. we need a lot more rain in the catchment for the river to come close to flooding, and flooded creeks are just an inconvenience at the moment.

just ordered a new knee support online, is is soooo hard to find one that is big enough, the drawback of muscular tree trunk legs, for the record my thigh circumference at a point 10 cm above the knee cap is 70 cm and is one of those locations I would struggle to get a reading with callipers as I carry very little fat in my legs.

I have 2 that don't fit me in the cupboard. Where did you order it from, Tru? I wish my legs were all muscle & not fat!
You would laugh at our "Heatwave warning" that I just got then. It's going to be 28 here tomorrow. 28 here does feel like 38 though. I was thinking of attempting 18 holes of golf. Thunderstorms are also forecast. Maybe not a good day to attempt a full golf game.

I ordered from Temu

I could not find anything local and Australian online sites don't sell the bigger sizes but for a Chinese site, temu are reliable according to locals I have spoken to and they have provided Auspost tracking numbers.. I prefer Auspost compared to couriers because they all seem to be unreliable with deliveries. I also have some cohesive tape and guinea pic accessories on order.

I agree thunderstorms don't sound like a good option when playing golf. Having been struck by lightning I cannot recommend it lol

I think it is considered a heatwave when the forecast temp is substantially above the monthly average for 3 days or more, with climate change I think we are in for more heat waves in the future.

I just got little miss signed up to learn Highland dancing when the school holidays are over. The lessons are cheap but I can see a big expense in the future when she decides than she wants clan tartan to wear, at $200 a meter for the clan tartan from my side of the family I am horrified. From me she gets her Scottish and Irish heritage with a bit of french thrown into the mix and she gets the welsh from hubby.

:rotflmao: Why am I not surprised you've been struck by lightning?

I was opening a metal gate at a the childcare centre when my boys were little, I remember joking about getting hit with hubby before I went in to pick up one of the boys and I remember to comment from a kid standing at the glass door saying "you got hit by lightning" and the time spent in hospital. but I have no idea what the odds are that my brother has also been struck. He was sitting in a pub in Canberra when I made the news and proudly proclaimed as only a drunk can " that's my sister" lol some of the staff at the centre still work there so when little miss went there the newer staff had to exclaim "your the one that got hit by lightning" as the incident gets mentioned to new staff as part of learning to deal with unexpected emergencies.

Family members won't go near me when there is a storm.

Son D has decided he might join his sister in the dance classes, young ladies like a man in a kilt who can dance lol

That doesn't surprise me either. My brother got struck by lightning working to restore power up a power pole (he worked as a sparky for the local area) & never wears metal watchbands. I decided against playing golf anyway as I'm just not up to it.
That's sweet that your son is also going to do highland dancing. I have mostly Scottish heritage (Ferguson). I used to love doing the Highland fling when I was a kid.

Finished painting a 28mm scale model of a knight mounted on a purple unicorn for little miss today. I am out of practice painting at this scale and I need to use a painting headlamp with built in magnifier now my short vision has degraded a little. my hand is still steady at least. the paintjob looks better in person than what my phone pics on Facebook indicate but I was not getting my good camera out for one model.

Worked on mobility exercises but no lifting today and no rower, used set of mini exercise bike pedals while siting painting.

A knight on a purple unicorn? Sounds perfect for little miss. I'm sure she won't be a harsh critic.
Kudos to you for doing any exercise with your heat & humidity 👏

Not much happening today, Son R phoned from Canberra to say he has Covid and to get some advice, his GP is closed so he is going to call 13health to see what advice they give him other than the usual rest and fluids, he sounded bad on the phone but at least he has been vaccinated.
