Weight-Loss Run!

Weight-Loss
Finished my first week of c25k last night! Boyfriend finished work early so he came along too for some company and ended up making me walk slower than normal but run a little bit faster.

Total distance:1.81 miles
Walking pace: 20.00 min per mile
Run pace: 11.14 min per mile

Nice run Guideon! I think you should post a pic of these poor overworked shoes of yours.

Congratulations on finishing week 1 Joeybear! It's nice to have a running buddy. I've really had a renewed motivation since my wife has started going too.

My shoes weren't completely knackered yet, according to the sales lady in the store but bought new ones anyway, so I can alternate between shoes while I break in the new ones.
Did a run yesterday on my old shoes which was quite forgettable. Had to take a dump in the middle of the run, fortunately there was a establishment along my route where I could do my business, which is better than squatting on the side of the road I guess :p

Total distance:
21 km
time: 2h 11m
Avg HR: 134
Max HR: 150

Tomorrow day off, because of Whit Monday so I'll be going on another long run, hopefully it'll go better this time :)

That sounds rough, but at least there was a place along the way. I work in a lot of remote areas so I have it down to a science. I still avoid it whenever possible.

Run
30 min
2.09 miles
145 bpm avg hr

Was recovery pace, but it was humid and hot so it still sucked. 3pm was a bad choice, but I realized it is supposed to storm this evening and got it done.

Took revenge on my poopy run this morning.
Did a 24 k run (well almost 24 km)
23,76 km
2h 17 min
Avg HR: 139
Max HR: 156

It was warm, but using shade wherever I could and some wind on the open bits did help to not overheat :p

Week 2 session 1 of c25k today. Was supposed to do it yesterday but I was so tired after work that I ended up having a nap instead! It's been really sunny today but there was pretty bad rain yesterday so the field was a bit squishy in parts today. The horses in the next field came over to watch me run and at one point a pug dog ran over to say hello (he was supposed to be playing cricket with his family in the middle of the field). Was a bit more tiring today but I did an extra run at the end because I was at the furthest point away from the field exit when the app told me to cool down so the walking pace figures are skewed and I actually went a bit further because it stopped measuring distance before I got back to my house.

Total distance:2.23 miles
Walking pace: 15.48 min per mile
Run pace: 10.44 min per mile

Awesome run Guideon! If that was the new shoes that was a quick break-in.

Joeybear, naps are awesome! Great job doing extra on your run. You'll hit your goal weight in no time if you keep it up.

I hope so, my goal date may have moved forward significantly as of this morning! I think 4 and a half weeks might be asking too much though haha!

Week 2 session 2. One of the rabbits stayed and watched today instead of running away, he's now my favourite and I will call him George. Felt like my strides were a lot shorter today and I didn't have as much energy but it was alright. Might have had something to do with it being so damn sunny! Somehow my walking pace is faster today than it was yesterday when it was skewed by the extra run.

Total distance:2.20 miles
Walking pace: 15.23 min per mile
Run pace: 11.39 min per mile

Completed week 2 of c25k! It was so sunny and I hat a bit of a stitch in runs 2 and 3 but I made it! Intended on doing workout as soon as I got home but I was so warm I had to have a break to cool down. Bit worried about next week's workout as it contains 2x 3 minute jogs, not sure I can last that long.

Total distance:2.09 miles
Walking pace: 17.31 min per mile
Run pace: 10.49 min per mile

Nice work Joeybear! Try not to worry about the increase. I found that being uptight or pressured when I run makes it a lot harder. Just relax and go for it. Even if you come up short you are still running and improving. I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Only my second run this week. I've been feeling a bit beat up. I plan to run Sat and Sun to still get 4 runs in this week.

Intervaltraining today.

12.54 km

Felt good.

Also did a short training a few days back, to break in the new shoes.
They're approved :D

Max: 160

New PB on 5 km: 21 min 53 sec

Thanks Quercus, for the heads up about this thread. I am loving the positive attitude here already.

So I started c25k again. I have loved this program and have always enjoyed running. I am living in a hotel in a different country far away from home. So as much as I would like to run outdoors, I am going to stick to treadmill for a few weeks until I get familiar with the roads.

Crushed WK1D1 today!!

Welcome Amber! It's commendable to start a running program while traveling. Keep it up!

Nice intervals Guideon! I'm glad the new shoes are working out.

Run

I just ran with a countdown timer for 30 minutes. I can't focus on speed or distance right now while it's such a struggle.

Week 3 has commenced! Today I had 1 1/2 min run followed by same rest then 3 min run followed by same rest, x2. Was pretty worried about the 3 min run so took it really slow to ensure I got to the end, next time I'll hopefully speed up a bit, though next time I'll be more tired because it will be straight after a full day's work. Turns out a 3 min run is 1 lap of the field.

Total distance:1.76 miles
Walking pace: 19.07 min per mile
Run pace: 13.38 min per mile

Hello! I'd like to join in. I started Week 1, Day 1 of Couch to 5k last night, and really excited to do day 2 tomorrow. I had to go incredibly slow to get through all of the running portions but I did manage it and that's what matters.

It's not the first time I tried Couch to 5k but my motivation has always fizzled out by week 2. I got scared of or couldn't manage the longer run times and stopped. :/ I'm hoping to push beyond that this time. I'll do the week 2 schedule as many times as I have to to get to the point that I can manage it.
