Weight-Loss Pre Lent Challenge

Weight-Loss
Seriously if I was to try to jump rope that much they would find me in a corner all tied up in a big jump rope knot!!! LOL Your right you will most likely get alot of flak for the nuts. hahaha

That created some FUNNY mental pictures... THANKS!! :D

And, I like catching flak for my NUTS!! :D

Only 12,000 at this point. I think I'll probably get to 15,000 without even making it a goal. that's why I want to make the running a goal.

You got it, even if the weather doesn't help much!! Can you run in snow shoes??? :D

I'd love to get some snow shoes for trecking across some tundra, but we don't get all that much here. What we get is the 35 deg rain, then it drops to 25. It can make an annoying winter, but that's what excuses are for, right? :hat:

You bet you can run in snow shoes! Unbelievably tough workout. If the inside of your legs and your butt don't complain a day later, you didn't run hard enough or fast enough :D

It really is possible to run in them. I do it every now and then just because I'm a masochist :)

And you have snow.

We get some, but not all that much. We are warmed by the gulf stream, so the air is either cold and dry or warm and wet.

I wasn't aware there was a warm current running up there, but I guess it stands to reason that there would be. It's the same on the West Coast.

Getting back to the original topic, I used to give up celebacy for Lent (j/k :D)

But this year, that's just not a possibility, so I think I'll give up cheesecake :p

The last couple years I've given up meat for lent. I might do that again this year. The pre lent is all about health, though.

OK, I'm taking a page from Matt and JZ and doing the three things.

Fitness: Run 45 miles in the 45 days.

Food: No Pizza. (This is a big one for me because NY pizza is the best)

Personal: No credit card purchases, cash only. (exceptions are gas and online purchases)

Good goals Trops...
I got the pizza thing whipped, although, if i lived in NY... probably have a tougher time!! :D The running... you got it made.... the NO CC purchases, now that's a good one. I don't over spend, but my kids are a weakness of mine... all they need to do is ask, and BAM, I'm buying them something... as long as it's practical, and they treat their things well, I have a HARD time saying NO!! :D

When does this actually start next week ? I have mor eto add will just do a new thing come start day so it is there and i can see it.

ooo I want to join!!

I gave up meat one year for lent and then soft drinks for another...I still don't drink soft drinks thanks to those 40 days with NONE!! I want to do a pre lent challenge. Hmmmm....I need to think of something. I was thinking about doing no refined sugar for lent, but maybe I'll do that for this challenge instead. I'm addicted to sugar...it's so hard to cut it out completely. I really need motivation :( so maybe this challenge will help.

Ya I agree it is so hard to give up sugar...it is amazing as our journeys continue how much we need to keep removing, lol and how much we can continue to find to remove.

For the most part I do everything fresh as fresh as I can and by that I just mean no more boxes and cans and so on, the teenager doesnt like that much, lol

I try my best with that too, but I always sneak something in....I could not imagine giving that up (I wont even try!)

yeah, okay so I've def. decided its going to be sans-sugar for this challenge, I just HAVE to do it...one it will DEF. be a challenge...and I LOVE having a good challenge ;) Second...I need to do it for my body, I am badly addicted to sugar (**waves** hi I'm lindsey, I'm addicted to sugar)....**sigh** so I'll give it up for this challenge. :coolgleamA:

I would like to add pop to my challenge. So anything related to chocolate and any sort of sweetened carbonated drink is a no-no.
