bleh...it just reminds me of every ex I have ever had.
 
I have a very eclectic taste in music, but I used to go on the elliptical trainer at school to the entire soundtrack of Center Stage (it was awhile ago but it was that movie about Ballet Dancers) - anyway it had stuff like Higher Ground by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Canned Heat by Jamiroquai - which were really good for those times where I was pushing myself to the max.

Now I've still got those songs, along with Shakira, The Cure, AFI, and whatever I hear that has a good steady beat. Oh and surprisingly Bjork is fun to work out to but it depends if you like her music or not. And you can never go wrong with disco!

Oh and yes I love the Black Eyed Peas but I really hate everything Fergie has put out solo. The songs are sometimes catchy but the lyrics - ugh.

Yeah I hate them at first and sadly within a week I catch myself singing " working on my fitness he's my witness " :eek:

Ha! Too true. When I heard "London Bridge" I was like "OMG, so trashy", but I hate to say it- it's catchy. I won't buy the album, but I may look for some songs on Acquisition....
 
I just started using Acquisition today...there is so much freakin porn that comes up for every search...

No doubt! I searched Kate Bush and got...welll, you can imagine! ;)

You can filter it though- at the top, middle box I think, to just music (I think the choices are all, music, movies, photos, etc. etc.)

BTW, Britta, been reading your journal as I'm new to the diary section and I've really enjoyed geting to know you! I'm going to Europe with my boyfriend for 2 weeks this summer, never been out of North America either, so I'm very excited. We're going to Italy too!

I have one song on my ipod that will get me moving even when I think that I can's move no more! It's "Lose Yourself" by Eminem...it gets in my head and becomes my mantra:

And that is exactly what I do....I get lost in the moment, the music and I just keep running...and running. I love it!
 
ipod playlist ideas

i'm going to the gym everyday.. i need help designing playlists for my workouts.

somedays i'm doing heavy lifting so i'd like angry rock, rap and hardcore stuff for that but my cardio days i'm thinking club music?

any ideas or suggestions?

Hmm I need some more ideas. Personally not to keen on metal atall, let alone when exercising. I find dance/trance or drum n bass is good, but not all songs, they have to have a certain something about them. So far I use pendulum for the most part, with a few assorted dance songs but still need alot more. Bit of Jay z and chillis, chillis not v good though (for workout).

Anyone know good dance/trance/club/drum n bass for working out?

You might want to try the website . They have free playlists of music designed for different activities. They tell you the BPM so you know if it's good for walking, running, spinning, yoga, etc.
