Well, these are a little farfetched, and most people on here probably haven't heard them, but a lot of World Wrestling Entertainment themes get you really pumped up for the obvious reason that when a wrestler comes out to fight, they want you motivated to cheer for them and whatnot. So, from what I've heard in wrestling, my suggestions would be:

Bret Hart Theme
Ultimate Warrior Theme
Shawn Michaels Theme
John Cena - My Time Is Now

I don't know if the theme songs have actual names but that's what they'd be labeled under (most likely). The Ultimate Warrior theme will really get you pumped up.

I've never listened to music while working out, but from you guys say it's really useful. I might try it next time I head to the gym. I got a nice ipod the other day, so that might give a good chance to use it. :D

One of my ITunes playlists is SoI thinkI can Dance (I really can't but chair dancing is fun.. some of the songs on that list are)

Devil Went Donw to George- Charlie Daniels
Manic MOnday - The Bangles
Kung Fu Fighting - Figdish
Let's Go Crazy - Prince
Blitzkrieg Bop - The Ramones
Rock This Town - The Stray Cats
We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister
De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da - The Police
Walk This Way - Aerosmith
I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor (this one gets a little embarassing because I also think i can sing - Loudly)
Come Dancing - The Kinks

hmm... If you like country music, "Save a horse, ride a cowboy" is pretty good. and also, "How bad do you want it," by Tim McGraw. Or some Trace Atkins. Good stuff!

OMG Beagle---I've never met another Great Big Sea fan. That's a good choice.

Here are my current 25 workout songs. They'll change:

I don't have a clue. My friends on the other hand...oh yeah. Some of them really love Japanese music--heck Japanese pop culture in general.

Like most others on here, I like to listen to upbeat music. My favourites at the moment are Green Day, Foo Fighters, early Guns 'n' Roses, Kaiser Chiefs and Linkin Park. Plus there is the odd obscure one like Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights, and ABC - All of My Love. I guess it is just music that makes me feel good and lifts my spirits.

I must admit though, I listen to music when I walk and when I do weights, but my high intensity cardio is cycling, and I don't feel safe on the road with earphones in. If I did jog or do stationary cycling, I would make sure that all of my music was high enough tempo to keep my pace up. I can see why a lot of you listen to techno!;)

Oh, I nearly forgot. I used to love doing the Cher - Body Confidence video, with the Hot Dance workout. They had a lot of the old greats like Dancing in the Street and Dance to the Music. I loved dancing to that:D

motivation playlist!

so i know i have a good many of them - the songs you listen to during your workout that make you really work it. thought it might be fun to post my favorite, and see what other people's favorites are!

one of my favorites happens to be a mildly harder core rock song by crossfade which just really speaks to the core of my motivation when i feel like giving up in the middle of my workout. called 'no giving up'

so you found out today
your life's not the same
not quite as perfect as it was yesterday
well you were just getting in the groove
now you're faced with something new

and i know it hurts, and i know you feel torn
but you never gave up this easily before
so why do you choose today
to give it all away?

well it's not so bad, y'all
together we all fall
just as long as we get up
we'll stand tall
we shouldn't waste another day
thinking 'bout the things that we forgot to say
i'm hitting back, y'all
kicking these four walls
just as hard as i can
till i can't crawl
i won't waste another day
with all these silly things swimming in my brain

(there's no giving up now)
do you really wanna give it all away?
can't you ever see things in a different way, some days?
(there's no giving up now)
such a beautiful thing to throw away
you should think things through
over and over again - all over again

so your scars fade away
you soaked up the pain
a better person cause you lived through those days
and now you know what it's like to prove
you can overcome anything that gets to you

well it's alright, we're saying our goodbyes
to the past and everything that ain't right
we won't waste another day
with all these silly things in our way

(there's no giving up now)
do you really wanna give it all away?
can't you ever see things in a different way, some days?
(there's no giving up now)
such a beautiful thing to throw away
you should think things through
before you give it up now

i know we have given all there is to give
when there's nothing to lean on, i'll remember this
all we make of this lifetime
is always here within
and remembering that's why
we never give in

do you really wanna give it all away?
can't you ever see things in a different way, some days?
such a beautiful thing to throw away
you should think things through
over and over again - all over again

there's no giving up now!
