Nae82 - Trying to stay on track

Yesterday:

deadlifts: 3x8 @ 90lbs
pull ups: 2x8 assisted @ 20lbs, 2x3 body weight
seated rows: 3x8 @ 60lbs

is there anything else i should add to my push/pull split? im only doing this for a couple more weeks, then i'm digging in to NROL

NROL = AMAZING

Do you already have it or are you going to buy it? PB once told me that half.com had it for 6.50 and I know amazon has it for 17 dollars which are both cheaper than the $25 bookstore price.

It looks like what you're doing is roughly similar to the NROL programs. I'd think you could start right up doing the Break-In program.

I already have it Dave. I bought it off of Amazon. Too bad I didnt know about half.com lol

Great. Thanks Stingo! That's good news.

You're welcome. Name's Tom by the way.

Looks like you're doing 3x8's now. The Break-In will have you doing 2x15's to get you ready for the other programs in the book. I know Fat Loss I starts with 3x15's, not sure how the other programs go.

Thanks.. i knew it was Tom, it's just a habbit to call people by thier screen name since that's what i see :)

When i was doing my fbw, i was doing 3x12 or 15.. so that'll be fine. My schedule is so crazy right now, but i should have some time this weekend to actually dig in and read around in the book. i'm excited :D

Yesterday I did 20 mins HIIT on the elliptical and some core work.

I actually waited until pretty late to go to the gym and it was great. The only people in there that late are in there to work!

one more week before school starts back :(

I second those late workouts! But did you have trouble sleeping? Thats always my issue. Where do you go to school?

Yeah, I think I tossed and turned all night that night. I felt great getting up in the morning though, but come noon yesterday all I wanted to do was lay down.

Right now I'm just taking a few classes that I can at a local community college. Then next year I'll just go to a local college here in Dallas, UTD or UNT.

I could be done with school. I had a free education and blew it. Now I'm trying to work full time and put myself through school without ending up with a bunch on student loans :(

ohhhhh man, I've been in that exact same situation. I feel your pain...I'm glad you keep on keeping on though, it can be rather daunting.

thanks. look forward to any suggestions you might have.

friday was my pull day. Saturday was 20 mins HIIT

Today I may work on some grip strength and see how many push ups i can do (from the numbers thread) if my wrist isnt bothering me too bad.. along with some other push exercises

Would using dumbbells be helpful for your wrists rather than palms down on the floor?

Also, when are you starting NROL? :)

yes, if i do pushups at all i have to use dumbells, but even that bothers my wrist sometimes.

i'll be starting NROL 3 weeks from today.

I have to take my PE credit for school and I'm taking a weight training class. I wonder what I will learn.

I took a weight training class. two semesters ago that I thought would be a joke but ended up being very imformative. I didnt learn much because of my background info but it taught a lot to beginners and intermediate level lifter. Could be a good Class. Sorry about the wrist. Have you tried a brace or straps.

per a request..

an updated pic

As promised, I'm checking to show I'm a follower of your thread. It's great to see women training properly without a fear of weights. Your body in that latest picture shows the advantages of weight training for women; maybe it's because I'm on a rest day and have too much free testosterone floating around but that picture is HOT!

Lol, I hope that doesn't cross the line ;)
Good luck with your classes

LOL! Thanks CCR.

I wish all women would realize that lifting something more that the 3lb DBs is not going to make you bulky!!! :)

I had that discussion with a women bodybuilder at my gym 2 days ago. She was like I look like this because I bust my ass with huge weights and eat a huge amount of food. Her muscle took her 10 years. If I lifted with moderate weight and ate a balance healthy diet there is no way I could carry any where near this muscle.

I've actually convinced a friend of mine at work to start NROL - in fact she's nearly done with the Break-In now. She seems enthusiastic about doing it - she was swimming and doing the elliptical before this and wasn't seeing that last bit of bulge around the stomach disappearing. That's when I suggested NROL.

One of the things I'm having the hardest time convincing her of is to not pay attention to the weight on the scale too much, and concentrate instead on body fat percentage. Also too, I think she's afraid of her waist getting bigger, but I've not said anything to see how her genetics will play out, (not to mention the fact that if it IS getting larger by adding muscle, then the other parts of her body will be correspondingly larger too, since NROL is all full body workouts).

Still, I give her credit for trying it this far and am hoping she gets the results she wants.
