My Online Weight Journal - comments welcome

Oh, and Mary - you are so right about the cravings. I honestly thought I would DIE without chocolate and soda. But I really don't crave them anymore. Oh, sure, I crave soda every once in a while - like a really hott day - but not so much chocolate. In fact, the blizzard I had last night was too rich for me.

I second that one too. I was looking at different restaurants and how many calories were in their food. OMG, now I know why fast food is so good:D I about died when I saw all the calories. I can go to the store and not even buy a candy bar. I just look at them and say nah, not today and go on. I never thought I would do that. I even turned down ice cream from Dairy Queen:eek: I hardly ever do that.

Damn ur good! I didn't resist DQ last night. BUTT I didn't eat the whole thing, either. Only about a third of it.

aw thanks wendy...i think your pretty as well :) and yea i never ever EVER in a million years thought my cravings would diminish but they did and now i crave like fruit for something sweet. And She...you are so right about the calories in restuarant food...i remember while i was away at school...i would go to friendly's every weekend with my friends and i would get this chicken caesar wrap (thinking i was healthy) and there were around 1100 calories in it!!!!! And then i would have a sundae with that! o geez. RESTURAUNTS CAN KEEP THEIR FOOD haha.

yes they can, but I went on website and you can build your own meals to suit you. I built one with only over 300 calories. I know that sounds alot, but it's not compared to other food at restaurants.

That sounds cool.

Today's menu:

B: 2 eggs, slice toast with pb, milk
S: peanuts, stick cheese
L: salad
S: not sure. I should probably have something though....
D: don't have a clue

Ran this morning, but it took everything in me to do. I was dragging @$$ like crazy.

(Hey Wendy, I like your new tag line-I hadn't noticed I guess, maybe it's not new)

Ok, what the heck is a tagline? LOL

Ugh. OMG. Talk about wanting to purge. For a snack, I had more peanuts, and some spanish olives. They are probably bad for you, but I had some anyway. Then for dinner, I had a small plate of whole wheat spaghetti with meat sauce. I feel like a f*****g cow. And I am feeling kind of frustrated. I just feel like I will never get there. The scale doesnt' like me. I don't like me. I don't see how anyone else can like me. God, how I wish I could just purge.....:(

Do I have to have Jayme jump your ass? I would never do that, but b&p won't do any good. Just because you have a bad night doesn't mean your going to have a bad week. It's just Monday. Don't worry about the scales. It won't do you any good. You'll just get depressed then you will purge. Pick yourself back up and see how tomorrow goes. One slip up is not going to hurt you.

But you see, I feel as though I haven't done well for the last like 4 days. Tell me honestly, how you think I have done, eating wise. I workout religiously 5 days per week. For a while, I thought I was doing well, but now...right this minute, I just feel so huge.

Next time you have it, eat one bowl and stop. Do something for 10-20 minutes, then if you are still hungry, have another one.

It looked good. Don't see anything wrong with it.

I would make that a cheat treat or have somebody else help you eat it or take it home, eat couple spoonfuls and put it back in the freezer.

I don't eat after 6.30 if I can help it, so I had two graham cracker squares with some milk.

That seems ok. Don't think graham cracker squares would be that bad.

All in all, I would say you are doing ok. I know I already gave this idea, but eat supper, go do something, if you are still hungry, have more. Greene does this all the time. Just try it. If it doesn't work, try something else.

hi wendy,
i'm having the same problems. i work out religiously, but end up eating enough that i'm not seeing the scale budge. maybe we just have to be patient, this is a SLOW process. the only times i ever lose weight fast is if i'm exercising AND hungry when i go to bed at night. exercise alone helps me maintain, but i've never lost solely on exercise (probably because i'm not patient enough). we've got to cut back on the calories too if want to see results fast.
on b&p, i definitely know where you are coming from, i always think about it after i pig out. BUT, what always stops me is that i think it would make me feel even worse, even more gluttonous and weak-willed, like i can't even control myself enough to stop stuffing food in my mouth...it's really pretty pathetic to have to purge, at least that's the way i see it, it's like the easy way out. plus i hate throwing up, ew! it's also very dangerous if it becomes a habit. your esophagus and teeth can easily be destroyed from all the acid from your stomach. i know that's gross, but i WANT you to be grossed out so you aren't tempted to try it!

Well trust me, I don't want that to happen to my teeth and esophagus, that's why I haven't done it.

Just be patient and don't rely on the scales. Exercise and eating healthy is the way to go.

I know you guys are right and the reason I don't do it is bc hate puking. ICK!

I haven't been really counting my cals, just eating small meals with protein and carbs mix (or I think I have), so I guess I have to really start counting again.

Today:

B: Special K cereal with banana & milk
S: Peanuts, stick cheese
L: salad with chicken, 6 quarter-sized cookies
S: not sure yet - thinking more peanuts or grapes
D: Ham, rice, peas, milk

oh, and before I forget, I always eat my dinner on a 6" plate, not a large/reg size plate.

....

Wendy, your tag line is "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels":p

Ok Wendie I'm gonna be honest with you, but realize I don't mean to hurt your feelings or come out sounding like a meanie...ok...

I think the problem for you isn't in your diet but in not getting enough productive excercise. Particularly cardio. I know this issue has come up before (not sure if it's you or someone else but) it would be great for you to do some budgeting and invest in a gym membership because I don't picture you (and I apologize if I'm wrong) getting a good, productive non-interrupted kick a$$ routine at home.

I haven't read your diary all the way through but mostly I see you posting your diet so I'm not too clear on your routine. You need to lift weights and I don't mean 2 pounds-two pounds is what my 8 year old plays with when I work out from home and she wants to mimick (sp) my arm routine.

You need to exert (sp) yourself to the point of sweating and feeling pooped at the end of your routine. Not sure how old your kids are but after putting them to bed hit the gym for a good hour, that's what I do. Your hubbie can keep an eye on them :)

Now I know that if you're a single mom like myslef it's more expensive for a membership because you'll have to take them to daycare BUT the return is the 'best' for the investment.

If your kids are older then they can stay home or with a neighbor or your parents. Take turns with a friend, you watch while she works out and vice versa, there are ways around it :)

I'm staying neutral about this. I can't say much because I don't do my workouts all the time. I don't wanna be the pot calling the kettle black.

I hear ya She, it's just that her diet doesn't look all that bad so I'm assuming the problem is with the workouts. I hope I didn't sound demeaning or rude, I'm just trying to offer my opinion...:)

I don't think you sounded rude. You were just stating your opinion. That's what we're here for.

Overall the food looks good. The cookies are ok, just not make it a habit. Maybe once a week would be good.
