I Think I Can

I took the bike out with the powermeter and I'm really starting to get into how useful this will be. However, I find that I am generating more questions than answers. I feel like I already have too much to learn and can't spend my time with my head in a physics book trying to wrap my small brain around this concept.

Unfortunately my coach is new to coaching with power so between the two of us, we share a brain.

With the holidays causing everyone, including me, to eat more than I normally would, I have been desperately trying to cook as much as possible in order to keep my weight down.

I decided I would start blogging my recipes rather than stuff them into a notebook. I'm a visual person and when I'm paging through my recipe book, I'll pass on something that doesn't have a picture. So I decided that I would take a picture of my dish in order to keep some variety at the dinner table. Because to be honest, I get into a cycle where I'm cooking the same thing over and over and I'd like to get out of the habit. Hopefully this will help.

I've been holding off on sharing this for a couple of weeks in order to get some recipes up. I now have 10 and will continue to post more as I cook them.

If you cook one of them and have any comments, I would love to hear them... good or bad. I'm a decent cook but I'm sure there are some out there better than I am. If you have a recipe to share, that's cool too!

You can find the recipes here:

There's an intro on page three but other than that it's just recipes prefaced with my nonsense.

Helloooooo!! It feels like forever since I've posted but I've been absolutely slammed with work.

It's been about a week since I've posted last and I come back to find Sparrow is eating red meat, ILM is no longer showing off her buns, and Firefreak is apparentely doing my Mom although my Mom has a much bigger ass. :)

For those of you leaving messages on my blog... thanks... it's good to hear from friends! Richard, glad you got the wheels... hope they serve you well. Backspace... I've been poking my head in here periodically but I haven't seen a peep from you... I hope you're enjoying the holiday and I'll expect a full report when you return. :)

Anyway, things should be back to normal now... I hope.

Of course my priorities have always been in order and I have officially started Base1. Looking forward to a new racing season and my race schedule is posted.

As of last week, my training has officially begun with a 7 month block heading into Lake Placid. The plan is to focus heavily on the bike miles aiming for an average of 600-1000 mile per month. Last week had a grand total of 15 training hours but I feel like I need to push it over 20 (and ultimately 30) as quickly as I can. I'm already at 428 cycling miles for the month but while I'm on target, I'm still feeling a little pressure.

Despite not putting on the "winter weight" which I typically see, I seem to be obsessing over the fact that I'm 154# instead of 152#. I'd like to naturally drop below 150# but I'm not going to do anything other than put in training time.

I've managed to get my core routine upto 20 minutes per sessions and am consistently logging between 6-7 days a week.

For those of you into cooking, I've been blogging my recipes:

It's easier for me to have them online where I can print them out anywhere and not have to stop by the house before going to the store. They are not the healthiest but they are healthier. It's also forcing me to get out of the routine of cooking the same things over and over since I feel like I have to blog a new recipe regularly.

And finally... work appears to require more attention than I want to give it and I feel like I need to fire a client in order to have some of my time back. This whole "working-thing" is a pain in the butt.

Yep, I officially diagnose you with OCD!;)

What do this girl...

... and this girl...

... have in common?

They are the same girl... one year later. She is an inspiration... and a babe.

So if you're thinking your goal is impossible, think again.

wow! thats amazing!

I know!

I can think of several people who have gone through transformations like that and in each case I'm like... you did what??

Gordo Byrn, author of Going Long, Ultraman Champion, and who also has many top 10 overall finishes at Ironman was also one of them...

I think he said he weighed over 200 pounds.

It's just fascinating to me what the mind can do for the body.

I'm back, going to be hard to get back into training, but I will.

"I Build Muscle, I am strong and can go long" I was taught this by a Kinesiologist, they speak to your body through your subconscious mind.

^^ phone numbers lol (for the girl that is!) lol

If you're online it turns red I think

Crap... it's like the refrigerator light... I can't tell if it's off when the door is closed.
