Floater's diary

I just had home made burger patties, fried onions, and tomato concentrate in a pita bread. It was a bit bland, but I'll make something nicer from the leftover beef tomorrow. I left it pink inside and refrigerated it instantly so it shouldn't be too dry tomorrow... If it seems too dry, I'll just repurpose it in a pasta sauce or something.

Eating breakfast ridiculously late, again. But i'm eating and for now that's what matters! I'm having burger patties and onion re-heated in the oven, a pita bread cut into chunks and topped with tomato concentrate, and cheese slices on the side. While cooking I had two dry rye bread slices with marg.

Oh bother, one of my electricity outlets spontaneously blew. I fiddled with the fuse board but to no avail. Switched off the fuses I think are corresponding with the faulty outlets... Let's hope I won't fry in an electric fire tonight. Maintenance will come check it out tomorrow luckily

Fingers crossed it'll be an easy fix.

The magic worked, the issue fixed itself?! I still haven't cancelled the repair dude in case the problem re-emerges, but we have had thunderstorms today so the electric network might be under stress.

Making myself some kimchi flavored ramen now.

I had a handful of saltines, two dry rye bread slices with nutritional yeast, and a protein shake after the ramen. The next few days will be cupboard raiding days, but I have enough food to last me until 3.8., even though I may not be eating like a king lol.

If it won't cost you anything to have the electricals checked then it's probably best to. How does Nera cope with thunderstorms?

She's scared of them ;__;

The maintenance guy said there's no need to check it if the issue solved itself. The apartment has safety fuses that don't need to be changed (they flip themselves off if something happens) so I guess they know what they are talking about? Maintenance is free here yeah, but the liability is on the maintenance folks, and I reported the issue so there's proof I did my part.

God damn, the outlet is messed up again. The guys will come to check it out next week. Oh well, I can always use my phone as a hotspot but this is still pretty annoying.

I had peas with walnut oil and smoked salt and a pan-fried, buttered pita bread for breakfast. Decided to dye my hair because I need some change but don't want to buzz them off quite yet after growing them for so long, lol. I had a tube of dark pink dye lying around and figured that I'm too old for the "pink is for girls" nonsense, so let's see how I like the end result. At least it's a good way to kill time and get the bathroom washed (Directions hair dyes are good, but they make a huge mess during the rinsing off process).

The hair dye turned out incredible! So did the mess. But at least my bathroom sparkles now.

I made soup from shallots, celery, tomatoes, white beans, corn and pasta - with copious amounts of hot sauce of course. It's perfect for the rainy, windy weather, and very satiating.

Dark pink is something like fuchsia? Sounds pretty cool!

Yeah, fuchsia is pretty close! More pink than magenta, but with cool undertones. I had never tried this particular shade but it suits me very well and looks rad.

I ate the whole batch of soup, it was only two full bowls anyway and not calorie dense. I'm now having a snack of last of my dates and a spoonful of peanut butter, as well as a cup of coffee with sugar. I slept so late that I won't be able to sleep for hours anyway, so I decided to have a nice cup of pick-me-up and a longer walk with the dog later.

Dinner: 150g of tuna with hot sauce and peas with smoked salt & walnut oil.

It's ironic that my gut is at it's best during the struggle week at the end of each month when I can't afford to buy greasy meats or alcohol :D *surprised pikachu meme*

I was just walking the dog and felt really nervous all of a sudden. I had a flashback to myself being a child and getting so spooked by normal things like shadows of trees or passing cars that I'd start screaming and sobbing. Couldn't help it. But it was clear I was in great distress and those were symptoms of mental illness. My parents did absolutely nothing about it except for giving me a smack and telling me to shut up and stop seeking attention. It's insane how neglectful they were, but of course they didn't want to draw attention to the aftermath of their own neglect so I was left to survive on my own.

Having porridge now and feeling really bummed. I hope I'll get to sleep soon

:grouphug: I'm sorry the past still haunts you. You are your own man now though, and life is on the upswing. Unless you take eating your dates too literally:p

Thanks! I think it always helps to be able to write tha "hauntings" down, so they don't stay afloat on top of my mind like a turd in a pool.

I just got back from the supermarket, I got sausages, tomatoes and bread to have some variety in my struggle meals. Oh and I had savoury porridge with nutritional yeast, marg, sunflower seeds, protein powder and peas for breakfast. Feeling pretty good. I even played with makeup before going to the supermarket, I ended up looking like Edward Scissorhands but with pink hair and glitter lol. I opted to wear sunglasses to the supermarket though because I wasn't sure I had enough swag to serve those looks :p

That makes sense. Works for me with nightmares.
