Floater's diary

Hi Floater,
Was just glancing through your diary a little and thought I would say hi.
I feel for you with the heat it sounds like you're getting there. Hard to eat properly! Good you could get some food in at least.
Hope you have a lovely hike with your friend. I will have to google that nature reserve...

Thanks Liza! I'll post some dog pics from tomorrow's hike/walk. I appreciate you popping by, I'm so bad at interacting with other posters but I'll try to pick up. <3

Just came home from a walk with the dog, showered her, fed her, did laundry, had a shower myself. I also tried to tone my hair to silver, and it turned a raspberry color Oh well. It will fade eventually.

Raspberries are delicious but having them on your head when you were going for silver sounds... surprising :) Enjoy the walk withyour friend and the dogs tomorrow :grouphug:

Explanation: violet on blonde or bleached turns to silver when diluted enough. I did NOT dilute enough, so the red tones turned violet looking dye to raspberry in the hair :D Luckily, red color molecules in direct dyes are the quickest to fade, they are small so they permeate the hair easily but also wash out the quickest. I should be lavender in a week of daily shampooing :)

Enjoy your holiday despite the airbnb being a bit quaint <3

I'm looking forward to hearing about your hike with your old friend. It does look very scenic. Hope it's a bit cooler.

Before bedtime (when I finally felt hungry):
Chickpea, corn, pea and celery salad from last night, one fried egg, 200g of halloumi cheese. Way too much salt but I feel nourished and sleepy.

Lavender sounds glorious! As long as you drink enough and have healthy kidneys and decent bloodpressure salt isn't terrible for you. Better than not eating, certainly!

The changing hair colours sound fun :)
I did google that nature reserve--looks lovely--hope you can post some pictures from your time there!

I'm leaving in 15 minutes, phone fully charged, backpack packed with salted almonds, water, Babybel cheese, and a portable water bowl for the pup. I hope I'll get some good shots to share <3

I have only eaten guac and sunflower seeds today, but I'm going to eb hungry when I get back so I don't think that's an issue.

After my breakfast guac I've eaten Babybel cheeses and almonds during the trip, three beers, two 2dl juices, and at home a chicken couscous salad with chopped celery and a warm sauce consisting of black beans, tomatoes and concentrated tomato paste and feta crumble.

We are both exhausted from yesterday, still. Poor Nera is a bit wobbly in her hind quarters (nothing new or dangerous, it will pass with rest and gentle massaging), and threw up a couple of times in the morning. As she's not dehydrated (her skin lays back flat after gently pinching it), and is able to jump up and down to and from the bed, and greeted the assistance today with her usual barking and toy offerings, it's more likely that she has eaten something rotten outside and just purged that to stay healthy. I got her a tub of cottage cheese to feed in small amounts until she can keep it down. Still gave me a bit of a scare in the morning!

I have only eaten a bowl of soy yogurt + dates + soy protein + sunflower seeds so far today. But then again, I also had 4 slices of rye bread with tomato paste and feta and a handful of dates before bed, so it's no wonder I haven't been that hungry. I just came home from the pharmacy - got a refill of Nera's eye medicine - and the grocery store; I have been craving red meat for days now so I got myself some 10% minced beef I plan to turn into either hamburgers or meat balls, haven't decided yet.

The assistant/autism coach who came over today has been on holiday for a month and confirmed that I've indeed gotten beefier :D :D It's always fun when other people notice my gains, because from my own perspective the progress is so slow I don't really notice it. I'll try to hit the gym tomorrow. Yesterday's hike was intense enough to qualify as a workout, especially in this heat, so I'll just rest and refuel today.

Yesterday's foods were focused heavily towards the evening. I had hamburger patties with spring onion and rye bread. I also applied cocnut oil to Nera's paws a few times, it seemed to help her as the skin was a bit irritated from the long walk. Today it's 31 degrees outside and I'm hiding from the heat behind closed blinds; I rarely ever close them because I hate not being able to see outside, but today there was no option.
