Floater's diary

I hope a nice rest now will have you just relaxed enough to sleep well later.
I had a friend come over for tea and it was great. I'll go to her and her fiancees' house on Sat to watch "Nope" and order takeout. I'll go to the gym beforehand and try out the gym's shower so I won't be a stinkweasel. Usually I shower after walking home but I guess it's good to broaden my shower horizon.

Dinner: a bowl of lentil-chickpea-aubergine-potato-corn-onion-soup, a bowl of mango. Will probably need more carbs and protein so I think I'll eat some rye bread with parmesan & Schwarzwald ham and 200g of cottage cheese before bed.

Heikki was drinking up the attention he got from my friend and looks very cozy & content in his freshly cleaned enclosure 🐭

Trouble winding down so I´ll have a walk, the eat the rye bread & cottage cheese, and try for sleep.

Does Ms CF donate blood every 3 months? If so you could make sure that you are right for the next time & let her know that. I hope you can get to sleep soon. My phone tells me it's 1.20 am there (8,20 am here). Sleep well, Arvo xo

I actually asked her this, but she hasn´t answered yet...

Walk was spooky! We are having some residual winter here, +1 degrees C and snow and crazy wind. Everything was noisy! I always love when the weather is "weird" for the season. Except when it´s warm in the winter but that´s what the climate change is doing nowadays.

Having rye bread with Schwarzwald ham and parmesan and going to have that cottage cheese next. I prepped some couscous and put it in the fridge because I want to experiment making a gazpacho-style soup but such that it would be a whole meal onto itself, with a source of carbs and protein and fat. I´m thinking couscous and black beans blitzed together with the tomatoes, and crumbled feta on top. The summertime´s around the corner so I want to explore meals that won´t heat up my apartment and go down even when I don´t feel like eating.

I feel you on that one. Blending couscous into the soup might make end result gummy/glue-y; I think I'd just stir it into the end product but let me know how it goes.

That´s a good point. I do like my soups a bit gluey, which is why I often put in a few starchy potatoes, but yeah couscous might be a bit intense. Lol. I´ll report back on my findings.

Slept from 7AM to 11AM. Feeling very tired. I think I´ll do a post and pharmacy run in the afternoon and I´ll hit the gym in the evening. Maybe take a nap at some point. I let Heikki out for a run during the autism assistance´s visit. Made a big batch of smoothie with oats, PB, banana, blueberries, matcha, and soy protein. Added in 1 tbsp of sugar to counterbalance the bitterness of matcha as well.

Breakfast: 0,5dl of smoothie.

My errand run turned into a 2-hour urban hike lol. Going to have lunch now and then decide whether to skip gym or go for a late evening session.

Lunch: one portion of smoothie, one portion of shredded chicken, a bowl of soup.

EDIT ok glad I skipped the gym because I have weird muscle spasms & tremors

Oh wow migraine rolling in big time. Completely my fault, too, for having a smoothie for breakfast and then going six hours without eating anything. While smoothies are great, I probably shouldn´t have them for breakfast, because if I drink my meal, my body doesn´t seem to realize when my stomach is empty and blood sugar on it´s way down. Took paracetamol & ibuprofen and an anti nausea pill. I´ll make myself a cup of coffee and drink it before deciding whether going to the gym is sensible tonight or if I should rest and save my energy for therapy tomorrow. Thankfully, with my workout routine, missing one workout is far from an issue (and might actually even be beneficial because I don´t struggle with laziness but I DO struggle with knowing my limits).

Migraine decided for me: even _moving_ hurts. I still managed to make a 1,5dl batch of vaguely gazpacho-style soup with 1dl of soaked cashews for fat & protein. I need to lie down now.

I hope you feel better soon!
Thanks! I try to think about the positives: I learned something new about prevention, and my ears have been ringing for a couple of days and that was probably indeed a forewarning symptom.

The nausea med is also making me hungry so I'm having the last portion of chicken with couscous and scallions on top, and rye bread with parmesan & Schwarzwald ham, hopefully I can sleep after that!

(EDIT: skipped the bread, was full enough with couscous & chicken)

I think that I'm going to buy some chicken breast and bake it with lemon juice & parsley tomorrow, rotisserie chicken is very convenient but I need a little break from it so it doesn't get boring.

Oh, Arvo. You poor thing. I can't skip breakfast as I get really light-headed. My cardio & GP have both told me to always have a good breakfast. I hope you feel better soon :grouphug:

Therapy was good. Bought oil pastels & fixative spray. Having lunch at Burger King: a cheeseburger and a vanilla milkshake. Burger was cold & gross but the milkshake is nice.

At the pool, aiming for 120mins of aqua jogging but if I feel too tired I'm happy with 30; as long as I do _something_.

Aqua jogged for 120 mins. Had a locker room smoothie and bought some groceries on my way home, and had a can of Monster Mango Loco (200kcal). I'm entertaining Heikki now while trying to eat dinner, starting with a bowl of soup.

EDIT: it really messes with my head that I´m getting inevitably a bit weaker as I lose weight. I know it´s not by much, and eternal hypertrophy or eternal strength increase isn´t possible for _anyone_, and I also know that having less adipose tissue as I eventually get to start testosterone is going to mean the masculinizing effects will become more evident sooner, but I still don´t like this. On the other hand, I do notice positive changes that might mean I could add light jogging to my exercise routine during this year without having to worry too much about my knees; increased muscle mass supporting my shit knees + less fat to haul around does make a difference indeed. So that´s really cool.

Getting weaker isn't fun at all! But being able to do new things is probably the best consolation you could hope for.
