Floater's diary

I think Meatloaf turned out to be somewhat of a douche (I'm not looking it up because I don't really want to know and I'm not sending money his way anyway) but some of his songs dug deep into my soul when I was a teen. I hadn't heard Darkness before; I can see why it would be you go to.
Hope you got a good sleep.

Thank you! I slept okayish, woke up around 6am and took another sedative.

I had the remaining chicken sauce with potatoes and fresh tomatoes before bed, and I'm glad I did. The fact that I have been able to eat even when going through these painful thoughts is a good sign that I'm heading towards the right direction.

I found a tic in my dog, ew. I got it out without issues, but I'll have to buy her a tic repellent collar. The pharmacies close at 3PM today, but if I can't make it in time, I'll get her one tomorrow.

I just had my first meal of the day, a rye sandwich with salmon and fresh oregano, and a two-egg cheesy omelette.

Yay! I made it to the pharmacy in time and got Nera a tic collar and meds for myself. I'll try really hard to give myself a home haircut and dye today. It always makes it a little bit easier to stand having to live in the wrong body. I've been thinking about an asymmetrical side buzz for a while now... Very useful in the summer months. We'll see what I can get done today.

Ticks are so gross (and dangerous of course, but mainly gross), good to hear she´ll be safe from them for a while. I wish I could cut my own hair!

Yeah, I hate the feeling of having to think about whether this specific disgusting little bug carries a disease or not. Knock on wood, but I have never had a tic myself. (Or if I have, I never noticed it.)

Haha, giving oneself haircuts is definitely a little bit interesting. I'm definitely not saying that it ends up looking like salon quality, but there are some great tricks to end up with decent results. And it gets easier with practice. I have slightly wavy hair, so that also helps :)

I have pretty easygoing hair that usually does what I want it to (provided I know what I want...) and I hate having to fight hairdressers to get the cut I want instead what they think will make me look like a pwetty pwetty pwincess. Mayyybe I'll be brave some day :D

I have had a tic on me & it was not good. I was pouring beers in our bar & started to feel really light-headed & queasy & mentioned that the back of my neck was sore. Someone asked if I had been walking through ferns & when I said I had the day before they said I probably had a fern tic on me. I sure did. My husband rang the doc & he gave instructions on how to remove it & that did the trick. I had really felt bad.
We removed a tic from our little dog last Summer so I am going to give him a tic tablet just before each Summer from now on. They are horrible little creatures & can easily cause paralysis.
Yay to you for having the guts to cut & die your own hair. I have to fight to get the haircut I like too. Hairdressers have such preconceived ideas of how we should all look & apparently my idea often doesn't tally with theirs. This week I got the razor cut I wanted.

I'm sorry you had such a nasty experience with a tic, @Cate . :(

Last night I had a big meal before bedtime, I made kidney bean sauce with bacon, celery, fresh tomato, greek yogurt and cubed potatoes. It was really good. Then i had four kiwis and 200g of plain Turkish yogurt for dessert. With 10% fat content, no wonder it tastes like Heaven. I think I'm going to make it a staple in my fridge, as it fixed my heartburn I had been having on and off. Veggie quota was met, yay.

Sounds like a great dinner!

It was really good. I seasoned the sauce with hotsauce, fresh herbs and added a little sprinkle of cinnamon in the bacon fat right in the beginning when I was sauteeing the celery. I just had the leftovers for breakfast with farfalle pasta and cheese. In my opinion it would probably have been even better without the cheese, because cheese rounded up the spiciness from hot sauce and cinnamon a bit too much.

Feeling so lazy and tired. Today is supposed to be my gym day but I think it's best to wait until the evening. I don't want to go there when the whole town is working out lol, crowded gyms are the worst!

Ah, RATS. I just had a nose bleed. Had one yesterday as well. It's birch season - I'm not allergic usually, but if there's a lot of pollen and street dust in the air, i sometimes get symptoms. My joints feel aching and I have a red ring of eczema around my mouth. I'll have to wait and see if the nosebleed comes back or not - I don't want to get one at the gym. So I think I'll slap on some sunscreen and walk to get a parcel from the kiosk. (I found running shoes on sale for 40 euros, and because I walk so much, I go through several pairs of shoes each year...) That way I can at least get some light fat burn cardio, and gauge whether I'm feeling well enough for gym later.

The trees stop spraying pollen during the night and the gym is 24/7, so that's an option too.

Decided to skip the gym - I still have two days left of this week, and I promised myself I'd do two workouts this week, not more not less. I'm itchy all over, sleepy, and sneezing. I did get the shoes from the kiosk though, as well as celery, marg and liver patee. Early in the afternoon I had 200g of greek yogurt and 300g of cherry tomatoes for a snack, and before going to get the parcel I had 2 rye sandwiches with lime juice, salmon, and parsley and a handful of walnuts. I'll cook something warm later tonight but I'm so itchy now that I need a shower to get all the pollen off!

You may know this already but if you´re allergic to birch pollen make sure you don´t eat raw celery during pollen season as there´s often cross-reactivity and it can cause or increase itchiness. It should be fine cooked though.

Apparently our soul-wrench conversation woke up the goblin that lives in my head and comes up with all of my recipes, but I'm currently having a lovely, although yet raw meatloaf sitting and settling in the fridge before baking.

Recipe for those interested: splash some hot sauce of your liking into a mixing bowl, add sesame oil and mushroom soy plus soy sauce, a handful of parsley, a dash of cinnamon, and a dash of dried or fresh mint. Mix the spices well. Add in 200g of greek yogurt, and mix well. Squeeze in half a lime, check the taste, and mix in a fresh egg. Then add 1,2 dl of breadcrumbs and mix all of the ingredients, plop in 400 g of 10% beef mince, and mix by hand into a dough.

Flatten the dough a bit and fill with cheese if desired, then roll into a log (cheese is optional though) into parchment paper and let it hang in the fridge for 0,5-1,5 hours, then bake at 200 degrees Celsius for 20 mins. Some people like to do an egg wash to the meatloaf but I never bother

I had no idea this could be a thing!! I don't have birch allergy according to the tests, but I'm sensitive to it, and I have eaten raw celery recently. THANK YOU. <3

I love meatloaf or anything made from mince really. Yum!
