Floater's diary

I had restless feet and a huge craving for protein, so I had the rest of the pork jerky as a snack. Luckily it seems to be what I needed as I'm super tired now!

You both have me searching for flat oatbread recipes now. I love the sound of it. You are doing so well, Floater. Aqua jogging seems so good for your mood.

Ahhh I woke up at 7:30 for some water and went back to much needed sleep. It's 11:10 now and today is definitely a rest day, I have some intense DOMS! Gym day tomorrow. I'll meet a friend for a walk today.

I feel tired but happy.

@Llama the oat flatbread indeed tastes a lot like porridge-based pancake. It's slightly sweet (I find oats to taste quite sweet) and the texture is stretchy. I will buy these again for sure :)

Now to annihilate the rest of my bento breakfast and then I'll get on with my day!

EDIT: I'm really enjoying my tuna salad and coffee while sitting on my bed and watching PhilosophyTube and watching the nature waking up from my window. I just had an intense feeling of being present in the moment. The outlines of my body, and fat and muscles and organs, and with the feeling came this peaceful thought that two things can be true at once: my body is both a flesh machine that needs certain fuel and exercise and rest to function properly, and I can wish for it to be further transformed through hormone and surgery treatments down the line, but I can also appreciate it as it is because it allows me to interact with my surroundings and stay alive. And that while I do support such ideas as radical self-love and intuitive eating, for me personally it makes more sense to take a more cerebral approach to my body. If I hadn't made the choice ad packed my breakfast last night, I would probably be going through my second or third espresso pan of coffee and procrastinating with eating. But now that I have a "program" to follow, eating's not so bad. In fact, I quite like seeing the bento box compartments empty one by one :)

Leaving for a walk with a friend now. My acne is trying a comeback, so I ordered some skin care stuff online.

Time for a very late lunch: I'll fry the 300g pack of thawed chicken livers and eat 1/3 of them now with rice, corn, and sugar snap peas, and marinate the rest in sesame oil, lime juice, fresh chopped shallot, scorpion hot sauce, a dash of mirin, and plenty of fresh parsley.

The walk was lovely and I think I'll walk to the supermarket after lunch to get those batteries and some kind of a treat. Oh and I tried on my old Dr Martens and it would seem that they are not too short in length, just a bit too narrow, so I could try to experiment with different lacing and maybe even leather stretch products to make them more comfy to wear. If I can make them work, they could serve as my "formal wear" shoes when I need to look presentable... Because while I'm a big fan of huge hiking boots, I know this aesthetic sentiment is not shared by the general public lol

I have to say, I can't see myself buying more chicken livers anytime soon. The cleanup was tedious, my hands smell of blood, I really hope they'll taste good

EDIT: turned out good. I hope it will taste good cold, too, but I do think so. I'll just work out extra hard at the gym tomorrow, so I'll have a huge appetite lol. I could see the livers taste pretty great sliced thin and served in a sandwich or a wrap. The consistency is very creamy, more so than beef liver.

EDIT2: having a lychee soft drink for dessert.

Went to the supermarket and got batteries, rye bread, portobello mushrooms (they were on sale), Thai-style fish sauce, and frozen cherries. When I got home I prepped tomorrow's bento breakfast: rye bread with cheese, brazil nuts and pumpkin seeds, cherry tomatoes, green salad and mung bean sprouts with parsley, feta cheese, 100g of cottage cheese, and frozen cherries.

I was starving, so dinner was an assortment of whatever I could come up quickly and I ate half of it standing up lol. I'm still happy with my choices: 100g of cottage cheese, rye bread with cheese, tzatziki-style side salad (Bulgarian yogurt, lime juice, parsley, black pepper, salt, and chopped cucumber), and a small bowl of frozen cherries.

Because I haven't eaten a lot of calories today (as this was a rest day, I just wasn't as hungry), I'm planning a bigger, carb-heavy meal before bedtime. I'm thinking a super simple spaghetti dish with raw garlic, black pepper, fresh parsley, and fried portobello slices on top, and a side salad made from green peas, pumpkin seeds, mung bean sprouts and a little splash of sesame oil.

The pea-bean sprout salad was nice and the portobello pasta was INCREDIBLE. I think I'll make the same dish tomorrow, just gotta buy more garlic and parsley first 🥰

Your food sounds so, so good. You really are looking after yourself. I threw some crisps out into the paddock this morning as I have been sneaking them for the last few days. They are so moreish & so bad for me. They just had to go. We must look after ourselves.

@Cate sometimes removing the temptation is the smartest choice! *hug*

Woke up in the middle of the night but I'm positive I'll fall right back to sleep. Gym day today!

I think I'll start to keep pre-washed and pre-cut salad mix as a staple, too. Having a sandwich and a big salad with protein for breakfast seems to really work for me. Having a salad lets me circumvent the issue of not wanting to eat breakfast as it's light and goes down easy, but the carbs from the bread and the protein from whatever I use on a specific day make it a full, satiating meal.

EDIT and getting plenty of fiber both from the veg and the bread helps alleviate the GI side effects of my meds (mainly diarrhea + cramps), and of course veggies are also hydrating so that helps with the meds' dehydrating effects.

Pre-workout snack was mango, pineapple and pomegranate seeds, I hit the gym and had a lot of fun, my bench press game is getting better and better. Had my post-workout porridge and a short effect ADHD med and walked home, took a shower, and had a late lunch: soba noodles with portobello mushroom, fresh parsley, and a fried egg. I kept lunch light & simple on purpose, because I want to eat those leftover chicken livers tonight and I'm not necessarily in a liver-y mood. I can't wait for tomorrow and getting to go aqua jogging again!

EDIT: I've lost 1kg in a week, which could be fluids, but it's hard to feel good looking in the mirror because my stomach is a beach ball. I'm so gassy I feel a good gust of wind might carry me to the sea, let's just hope that my gut adjusts to increased fiber intake in a timely manner... Thankfully exercise helps to expel the 🌬️ so at least I got that going for me lol

That sounds very uncomfortable. Possible faint silver lining: a bloated gut is one way to get used to male-hormone-guided fat distribution...

I know (hope?) you said this is jest but I do have the occasional nightmare about the possibility of developing a beer gut and a cue-ball head... Luckily only one of these things is such that no counter-measures can be taken.

Ex popped over, we watched and episode of Fringe. He had bought Moschino's Toy Boy EdT and I think I need to get a bottle of that stuff some day. Rose and amber is my jam. I had some sauerkraut and cherry tomatoes as a snack.

Time to cook some rice to go with the leftover chicken livers. I think I'll serve the rice cooled with parsley, mung bean sprouts and pomegranate seeds and slice the cold livers thin for serving. And I'll fix tomorrow's bento box too, of course.

Bald skulls are hot! And you're way too good at self-care to end up going the trucker gut route. Besides: testosterone may (or may not: what was your maternal grandfather's hair situation like?) Do bad things your hair but it definitely helps with fat loss. I don't have penis envy but I definitely have male-metabolism envy.

Thanks for cheering me up! I hope so. "Trucker gut" is such a fantastic expression haha.
Besides: whatever testosterone does to your hair it definitely helps with fat loss. I don't have penis envy but I definitely have male-metabolism envy.
Yeah it's nuts to look at pre-T and post-T photos. Obviously if a trans guy eats trash and doesn't move (or suffers from some kind of an underlying illness or disability etc) T alone won't turn anyone into a hunk. But the fat redistribution and resulting muscle definition is quite something. Not that there's anything wrong with female-typical fat distribution... While subcutaneous fat isn't fashionable in our day and age, it has health benefits when compared to what testosterone does to a human body - "live fast, get fugly with age, die from a heart attack" lol. But hey, we share our views about not having penis envy: maybe it's just because I never had one so I can't miss what I don't know, but having one seems so very unpractical. :Angel_anim:🍆

Bald skulls are hot!
This largely depends. I used to rock a bald head when I was 19, but I kinda looked like the monster from "Splice". That was one disturbing and weirdly sexist movie. Or maybe I was just triggered by it because of what happens during the monster's life cycle and it hit a sore spot lol.

Bento box is packed: oat flatbread with cheese, pumpkin seeds, butter beans, chopped cucumber, green salad+ mung bean sprouts + cherry tomatoes, and a tzatziki-style yogurt sauce.

Regarding dinner, I ended mixing frozen corn into the rice too, so if I catch listeria, wish me luck. I glitched and forgot it should be heated first but I'm fairly young and physically healthy so I should be able to survive a shit bug...

I looked up that movie before your warning and I'll say: definitely not just you. Of course the scientists are both brilliant and curiously stupid. Of course they ignore ethics completely. And of course the "monster" seduces the guy but rapes the woman.

You mentioned the dangers of thawed-up fruits and veggies before but I 100% repressed that memory: best of luck. I eat thawed-but-not-heated produce way too regularly.
