Eric's Diary

Hey Eric, I hope you're having a good day! Be active today, tomorrow and all weekend, OK? You're young enough to make the time for it, and believe me it's much easier to maintain your weight in your 20s and 30s if you get it under control in your teens. You're going about it right, keep it up!

Thanks :)

Just wanted to inform everybody I weighed in this Saturday morning at 196!!! More info in my signature :)

OH!! And I got a new mile record yesterday. 9:55! Which beats my former record by three seconds.

I really need to get back into this! I've gone downhill since I stopped. :( So I guess I'll start by walking everyone briefly through my day.

As you may or may not know, I'm 14 and my hormones are raging. :p I had a big pimple right under my nose. It hurts and is so embarrasing! I really wish it would go away :p

I skipped breakfast for a few reasons today. I was tired and didn't feel like eating and I also wasn't hungry. I think it was because last night I had a huge dinner.. bad dinner. I've heard that actually makes you hungrier in the morning, but I'm not sure exactly what happened. But nonetheless, breakfast got skipped (sort of.. I'll explain later :p).

So I head off to school. Lunch time whips around the corner and I start scarfing down my ham and cheese sandwich. Followed by a banana, apple, and small bag of gummy fruit. Which I was wondering, how healthy is that? It's only about 50 calories (I believe..) in the bag and when I last checked it out it was okay but sometimes you never know how unhealthy things are.

After lunch came physical education. No laps today, folks :( But I did run around for a good hour playing with my friends which I'm sure gave my body a great work out! :D

School ended and I rode the bus home. At home I finally had breakfast, pointless I know, but I was starving! I had a medium-large bowl of rice krispies (plain). By the way, I'm never having them when I'm watching my foods ever again! They are horrible without sugar and I didn't want to put sugar in because it would kill the healthiness of them. Well "healthiness." But seriously, I felt like I was eating bland carbohydrates while I was eating them. :p

Later that evening came the second lunch. Sad I know.. I had a turkey and cheese sandwich with pickles on white bread. *sniffle* I feel uberly guilty about it.

Dinner? Well, that may be an understatement. If you consider approximately 2-3 servings of chips with salsa dinner, then yeah, I had dinner. But it was really more of an unhealthy snack. But hey, at least I got in those horrid vegetables :p

To finish things off I had an apple which really hit the spot. I like ending my days with apples, they do something to my stomach that makes me not want to eat anymore. Strange...

I've had about two and half cups of water. I plan to get to around 4 and half to six cups before bed.

So, this was my day! :D How about we finish things off with a food recap? Just to put things into perspective, right? :p

Breakfast - Skipped (for now)
Lunch - Ham and cheese sandwich, banana, apple, gummy fruit
Late breakfast - Medium-large bowl of rice krispies
Snack (well, "snack") - Turkey and cheese sandwich with pickles
Dinner (well, "dinner") - Chips and salsa.
Desert - Apple

And this was my day. Hope you enjoyed! :D

Glad Your Back In The Diary Now ****kick************ Thats To Get Ya Back In Gear!!!

Thanks for the comments :) And congrats on getting over that breakdown!

Here's a short food recap of today

Breakfast - Medium bowl of raisin bran w/ milk
Lunch - PB and J sandwich, half a banana, gummy fruit

Ok? So, how about a complete food and exercise list? Here goes nothing...

Breakfast - Medium bowl of raisin bran w/ milk
Lunch - PB and J sandwich, half a banana, gummy fruit
Exercise - 1/2 mile, 45 minutes of just playing around (actively)
Snack - Yogurt - to - go, apple
Dinner - Beef stew (with potatoes, onions, and carrots) and applesauce
Dessert - Apple with peanut butter

Man.. I'm so depressed. I weigh in tomorrow morning and I know it's not going to be good. I mean, hell, I'm hoping for the best but we'll see. I know I haven't done good this week and I'm sure it'll show. Wish me luck :p *crosses fingers*

And I'm off to bed, good night my fellow weight-losers! :D

Hey do you have to weigh in tomorrow? I know I'm skipping my weigh in because I cheated too much this week. I fell off the boat a couple days ago too but I'm hoping to hop right back on... *thumbs up* and I hope you can too.. hey you like raisin bran? That's one of my favorite cereals, especially because it's got so much good stuff in it - but best of all.. is Raisin Bran Crunch!! I have spent so many years b*tchin that it always got soo soggy by the time you get to the bottom of the bowl and then they come along and answer my prayers! haha.. try it :) When it comes to boring rice krispies you should cut up a banana and put it in 'em. ANNNND I'm still working on making it through my first mile haha so you're doing awesome - keep it up hun.. my l'il pc. of advice though is take a look at your PB and it's nutritional info.. Peanut Butter's got lots of fat in it.. and it's GOOD fat ofcourse but maybe if you have a sandwich at lunch keep your apple plain before bed. Just lettin' you know :) There's so much out there that I used to think was healthy until I started this whole regime and WOW.. it blows you away hey? Cheers - hope you have a TGIF!

Thanks for the words of wisdom you two :) Always appreciated!

I woke up this morning (surprise-surprise) and took my usual shower. Then around 7:15ish AM went for a bowl of Raisin Bran. So I pull out a nice sized bowl and the box of cereal. Pour myself a good amount of Raisin Bran and reach into the refrigerator. WHAT?? To my surprise, there's no milk. "NO MILK?" I yell. "This is a travesty!" Now what is a man to do with cereal and no milk? Unless he is eating Fruit Loops, nothing. So, being the quick mind we all know I am, I realize what I must do. Dig through the many flakes and pick out the raisins. Sounds crazy I know, but it worked. So, my breakfast turned into a bowl Flakeless Raisin Bran.

Lousy breakfast but I survived. At school, a friend gave me a piece of gum, which I made last until lunch. Lunch, now there's an interesting story. I got out of class early so I could go print out some papers for a project. Well, the freaking teacher wasn't there. So I waited a good, oh say, 20 minutes for her to arrive to her station. Nothing! NOTHING! Just my luck. I go to room 301 where I expect to find my team members, instead, I find that dang teacher. So we head to her room where I print the papers. Now, before all this had happened I had gotten my free lunch that I give to my friend and eaten mine. Which consisted of a pb and j sandwich. From the free lunch I snagged a kiwi (mmmm) and a bag of gummy fruit. Now, because I didn't see my friend all lunch, the warm, chicken patty I was carrying around was just too tempting. I tried to resist but it was no use! I ate the chicken patty plain. No bun. No nothing! I know, it should be "No anything!" but that kills it. So let's move on.

After lunch came the former worst class. Physical education. P - freaking - E! Of course now-a-days I've learned to love the class. Anywho, I was expecting to run the mile. You know, get a new record! Woot - woot! But to my disappoint, we didn't run. Instead, we played in the gym for an hour and a half. So, I'd say I got a good 45 minutes - 1 hour of running around and playing with my friends. The games we play revolve almost solely on running so that's good.
After school I headed home. So far at home, I've done great! I've had six cups of water, so 48 ounces! I've actually eaten to Raisin Bran flakes, but I'm sure that won't kill me. And I had a 1/2 cup of applesauce. Right now we're off to go eat dinner out. We're going for something healthy and I'll update the results when I return. :)

Hey! You know what I just realized. I'm exactly half way done with my "Long Term Not Quite Finished Weight Loss Goal"

29 pounds lost. 29 pounds away from 165! And I still have over 5 months to lose it!! Though I'd like to lose it sooner and reach another goal in 5 months, but we'll see. I'm hoping to lose about 10 - 20 pounds a month. So at minimum, I hope to lose about 50 pounds in those 5 months. But 100 would be great! Actually... 100 pounds would be ridiculous :p But 60 would be ideal!

Oops! I forgot to update dinner and desert! GAH!

Dinner: 12 grilled shrimp with lemon and parsley (FREAKING DELICIOUS!!!), white rice, and water.

Desert: Smoothie with, banana, yogurt, raisins (ew), and milk. It made about 1 1/2 cups so I'm sure it wasn't bad at all.

So I started off the day with a nice bowl of Raisin Bran. Afterward, we made out way to the racquetball courts where we played for an hour. Lunch was interesting... it was chicken on a bun. But store bought stuff so not the healthiest. It had 220 calories. It wasn't too bad but it was so damn small. :p I've had 8 cups worth of water so far. In an hour I'm going to have a banana.

You're doing so well! Great job Eric! Don't forget to eat though, I worry that you're not eating enough healthy stuff at school. And raisins alone do NOT spell breakfast. Pay attention to nutrition a little too, not just calories. Where are all the vegetables in your diet anyway? OK, I'm done lecturing you about diet improvement. You are 14 after all, right? I'm 100% positive my diet wasn't that great in high school either. But if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. So maybe make some incrimental improvements in your nutrition if you can stand it, OK?

True, vegetables are my biggest downfall. I have hard down gulfing down those little buggers. Eating wise, I'm sure I'm getting enough. It usually doesn't sound like it, but when you see it, it's plenty... in my opinion. :p I know raisins don't spell breakfast, but it was the best I could do. *sniffle*

As for the lunch thing, I'll see what I can do, but that could prove to be difficult. I'll try to do something though. And the lecture was appreciated :)

Here's some food updates for last night and today.

Last Night:
3 bean and cheese tacos (they were small but still not good)
I had over 120 oz. of water!

Today:
Started off the day with about a half hour of racquetball. Then jogged for 20 minutes going 1.56 miles!! :) I didn't stop to walk at all. Nope, nope, nope.
Breakfast was more of a lunch, but pretty early so I considered it my breakfast. It was shrimp with vegetables and fried rice.

For lunch, a 3" sub with turkey, ham, roastbeef, lettuce, mustard, and mayonaise.

Dinner... same as lunch. And 5 servings of mini carrots.

I had more today but I'm too tired to remember.. as you might be to tell from my typing.

Oh, I was also in the pool for about an hour.

your exercise sounds awesome! I can kick butt on elipticals, but as soon as I try to run, I can last maybe a minute, and then I'm out.lol... And I'm still jealous that you get to play racquetball...*sigh*

keep up the great work :)

Thanks Jess :) Racquetball is definitely fun :)

So I woke up this morning and took a shower. Got on the computer for a while before school, having a bowl of fruit loops before leaving. Lunch was dreadful. I had nothing except a turkey and cheese sandwich. After lunch was PE. Jogged a 1/4 mile fairly well. Then ran around with my friends for about 45 minutes. :)

After school I had an apple and a banana. I got on the computer for about an hour and then went down to pool. Where my brother and I played for an hour. 'Twas fun :D Came back upstairs, took a shower, and got into some comfy clothes. Dinner was a chicken breast, a small bowl of salad with ranch, and I tried to eat a tomato. I couldn't eat the inside, but the thick skin around it was tasty. :) I topped everything off with an apple :p

I'm about to go brush my teeth and then type some stuff up for my mom. Then get off the computer for the rest of the night and watch my favorite show, wrestling! Afterwards, it's off to bed!

Hey, just wanted to add, I had a cup of 1% fat free milk. And two cups of water right now (putting me at about three cups today). Not much I know, but I'll make up for it tomorrow (I PROMISE!!). :D 'Night guys.
