Sig.. that reply was a joke :p

Glad to hear it! You would be surprised how often I find people who think that they really should do that on interviews, especially among young'ens!

Ah well, at least if someone finds this thread, they may get some good advice yet... :beerchug:

I'm back!! :D

I had a nightmare night; we had bad stroms over here in the UK and a tile on my roof must have slipped as I had water dripping into my bedroom all night. This meant I got 0 sleep and feel like crap now!

I still went in early to hit the gym though as I wasn't going to be able to sleep anyway.

A bad start as the squat rack was taken so I started on the sled leg press thing

Weighted Sled Leg Press
4x5 @ 352

Single Leg Weighted Sled Leg Press
4x15 @ 66

Does anyone have any idea why my SL weight would be so low compaired to the regular press? It looked silly just having 2 33lb plates added but it really killed my legs

Hamstring Curl
3x8 @ 169

DB Farmers Walk
3x? @ 185 - I think I was a little better at these today

Front BB Shoulder Raise
3x10 @ 39 - I had to drop weight as my shoulder hurts if the weight is higher. But I find this weight far too easy, what should I do?

Cheat Curl
5@ 91
2x5@ 102

I used an EZ Curl bar, I heard that these weigh 25lbs so added that in

Reverse Wrist curl
2x10 @ 39

Oh yeah, anyone remember me saying I suspected people of copying me in the gym?

I think I've proved that they are as I saw one of the PT's today getting a female client of his to do DB snatches wrong. i.e. the way I've been doing them for the past month!

There were also 2 skinny guys doing iso holds using med balls and I'd never seen anyone in my gym do that before

Or- maybe they just read my journal on this site? That's a weird thought

Are cheat curls, curls where you basically move any part of your body to get the bar up, eg shoulders etc...

Whats the benefits of doing them this way?

Try the front raises with dumbells, if there is pain we will remove it immediately.

The sled could be any number of things, never used it for single leg, no sleep, that superset that would make most men cry...

The people in your gym probably figure, "Its so easy a cavemen is doing it."

The pain is weird because it's only in the left shoulder and it doesn't hurt on any other lift

And yeah, that superset was very tough, I was a bit worried that it'd be too easy compaired to squating but this turned my legs to jelly!

p.s. I do look a little like a caveman today, I've spent a week ripping up floor boards with my hands, tiling and sawing which have left my hands ripped to shreds. My boiler broke down on Saturday so I hadn't had a shower in a couple of days and mix that in with having been awake for 36 hours and you get quite an attractive picture

You can get your shoulders and back involved, the idea is to increase the amount of weight you're lifting and turn it into a bit of a compound movement

I don't know much about them to be honest so maybe Tony could explain more?

I'm now going to be upping my training to 5 days a week introducing an 'arms' day on Wednesday as I don't feel like I need the rest and my arms are lagging

Here's the plan

Exercise.................................................................Sets....Reps....Rest
Set1
Barbell Curl (3 sec negative).........................................3.........8........0
Wall Sit (just like elementary school)..............................3.......60sec+..60
Set2
Pullup or Lat Pulldown Iso Hold......................................3.......30sec+..0
Decline or Leg Elevated Crunches (Hold for 2 sec).............3.......20........60
Set3
DB Hammer Curl (minimum 2 sec negative).......................3.......15........0
Elevated Iso Hold (Pushup & Arms Normal).......................3.......30sec+..60

Tricep Pressdown........................................................2.......15-20...30

Tony, I have a couple of questions;

1) What does 'arms normal' mean with the Iso holds?
2) Wall sit? Is that where you sit with your back pressed against the wall?

1. I want you do this on the plates again and not on the med ball. Unless you use two medballs so that your arms at are 90. :)

2. Yep thats the wall sit. Going back to the fun times of 3rd grade!! :D

The cheat curl is what the guys in your gym are doing with those 12lb dumbells or empty barbells. They are swinging the weight up essentially. This allows more weight to be thrown, and more weight means more of a stimulus.

Cheers Tony ;)

Training today:

Bench
4x5 @ 198

Cable Flyes
4x12 @ 121

(I did 15 on my first set as I got confused with the rep ranges :11doh:)

Push Press
3x8 @ 99

I wanted to try to increase weight today but one of the BB's has disappeared from the gym so I had to stick with the preset weight bars which only go up to 99lbs

Seated Row
3x12 @ 169

Lateral Step Up
3x10 with 22lb DB

BW Squats
3x12

Crunches
2x12 holding med ball on head

I also saw another 2 people being given my poorly performed DB snatches to do by their PT's

You know the preset bars, what does the bar weigh roughly, im guessing around 5kg (11lbs) ?

Iv never known, so i dont include the bar weight...

I have no idea, I've always assumed the bar was included in the weight

It was only about a year ago that I used that same bar to deadlift :)

Wow lol, well at my gym its just a regular bar with 5kg plates at each side for the preset bars.. so ill guess the bar weighs roughly 5kg.

I'm not going to able to do my arms day today :(

My girlfriend broke her foot yesterday so I stayed at home until about 8.30 to get her and my daughter comfortable and fed. Then at lunch I'm going home to get them something else to eat so I don't have any time for the gym

What I'll do is take the new schedule home with me and try to do as much as possible with dumbbells

Weighted Sled Leg Press
4x5 @ 352

Single Leg Weighted Sled Leg Press
4x15 @ 66

Does anyone have any idea why my SL weight would be so low compaired to the regular press? It looked silly just having 2 33lb plates added but it really killed my legs

My arse still hurts from this!!

I got a new washing machine yesterday and to protect my new tiles I had to lift it over them and I soon realised my butt hadn't recovered from these. I don't think I've had proper soreness for about 12 months
