Ccr 2.0

Lol, that is quite cool actually, would make me feel very important :D

Well with all of these interviews your bound to get a new job, plus you got plenty of experience which you know helps a lot..

Telephone interviews? WTF.

Telephone interviews? WTF.

Standard recruitment process now seems to be

1) Telephone Interview
2) Assesment centre
3) Interview
4) Second Interview

I think It's because employment laws were changed giving employees on a probationary period more rights. Basically, in the past an employer could get rid of a new member of staff at a weeks notice and just say 'it's not working out'. Now the employer still only needs to give a weeks notice but they have to have a justifiable reason for redundancy that an employee can take to tribunal so employers are making the recruitment process tougher to make sure they don't make mistakes

To make matters worse for me I've just moved into my company's new offices and my desk has a view over the Tower of London, shame I'll only be here 3 weeks

I also have to find a gym around here

be sure to see the video i posted in the other thread for you :)

Will do, I can't view it in the office but I'll watch it elsewhere

I've just found my nearest gym and it's probably in the most expensive part of the financial district so I'm hoping my membership covers it

I have to be quick, it's almost 5.30 :)
I've been so busy applying for jobs I haven't had time to post anything

Squats
4x5 @ 308

Split Squats
4x15 @ 132

I really upped the weight on the splits as my heavy squats are going to suffer with me dropping to 222lbs

Hamstring curls
3x8 @ 185

Farmers walk
I had to use the 40's (88lbs) for this today because these are the heaviest my new gym has. I walked for ages with them though :)

Cheat curls
3x5@ ? not sure as using a new EZ curl bar. How much do those buggers weigh? I added 77lbs of plates

BB shoulder raises
3x10 @ 44lbs

Only a slight pain this time so went back up in weight

I just thought I'd say now that my arse and legs are killing me today, I'm having trouble bending over or walking up stairs. Losing weight sucks.
The Bacon and egg muffin I'm eating now will hopefully help with that :)

I missed training yesterday as I had an appointment with a recruitment consultant, I have an interview today so I might not be able to train again today.
I have a 'chat' planned with the MD of a main competitor of ours tomorrow but that's at 11 so I should be able to get in a gym session on the way back to work

With the amount of gym sessions (and meals) I'm missing I'm going to have to do more body weight stuff at home to try and maintain strength

(p.s. my legs and arse still hurt after Tuesday's quad squat session, once I have this job situation sorted out I'm going to have to hit the food and weights harder than ever)

Keep your your faith, CCR. Good luck with the interview. Show your stuff! :)

It will not be long.

Still no training to update you with.

The constant stream of bad luck I've been having seemed to hit it's worst point last night as absolutely everything went wrong. I won't bore you with all the details but the strain of our situation finally broke my girlfriend and she was quite distressed, a got a huge rip in the only suit that still fits me and we had a power cut at midnight which made our neighbours alarms go off for hours which woke my daughter and prevented me from sleeping. I felt I wasn't meant to get the job I was going for today

Anyway, luck might be going in my favour. I get to the interview early to buy a new suit, the very first suit I see is heavily reduced in the sale and I pick up some shoes to go with it at 50% off as well.
I go to the interview and it all went very well, I was talking to the MD and he just wants to talk to the CEO next week about giving me a job. He said not to take any other job offer until I'd spoken to him again

Oh, and I'm currently wearing a 34" waist trousers!! Last month I wore a 38. Hopefully that was all fat I lost :)

Now if I get offered this new job, all I'll be thinking of is my nice redundancy pay off at the end of next month :)

That sounds like great news on the job, best of luck! Sometimes a streak of really bad luck is followed up with a streak of really good luck.

I thought the same so I've just written to Kelly Brook to ask for a date next time she's in London

She should never have moved to America because the restraining order can't be enforced overseas :D

I had stuff to do RE job hunting again today but I found some time for the gym anyway because as my company are getting rid of me I don't give a toss if I'm there or not :D

Bench
2x5@ 198
2x5@ 204

Seated Smith machine press
8x 110
8x 132
7x 121 + 3x 110

I had to use the Smith machine because I went to press the BB over my head and realised I'd put the paltes through the ceiling if I lifted them! The ceiling height is so low; I won't be training here for long though so the seated smith will have to do

Seated Cable Row
3x12@ 169

Cable flys
3x12@ 110
9x110

I had to do cable flys at the end due to it being used by a couple of idiots doing tricep pulldown/bicep curl sets on it for about 30 minutes while the single pull down thing ment for that was completely free the whole time

Iso Hold Pull ups
2x20 seconds (I think I might add a couple of these in every day until my pull ups don't suck anymore)

It was getting late by this point so didn't do the BW stuff - there's only so far I can push it with the super long lunch breaks :newangel:

I weighed myself at the gym today and I'm back down to 220lbs.

I thought I ought to take a picture of myself as I started using Tony as a trainer back in about August/September last year weighing exactly the same amount so any progress (or lack of :)) should be obvious

Oh, and my house isn't in such a state anymore, it's slowly getting restored and decorated :D

Overall I'm happy so far but I know I could have done better if I'd focused harder on my diet, once the fat lowers some more the progress should be more obvious though

Once I have a new job in the bag it'll be back to eating and lifting big with early morning training and fater gains

I should here back about one of the jobs I've interviewed for today. This is the one with the competitor so if I don't get this one it's gonna be a real kick in the teeth.

I'm waiting until I hear from them before I go to training as I won't be able to concentrate until I know either way. I'm sh*ting bricks right now and I've barely eaten all morning

As I missed a day yesterday (was having a very depressed day) I tried to mix in the hams and arm days together.

I also had a job interview this morning which I thought went really well but only lasted 15 minutes! That's never a good sign

Deads
4x5 @ 308

Single leg deads
2x12@ 132
2x15@ 99 (grip failing)

DB Snatch
3x10 @ 44 (each arm)

BB Bicep curls (3 sec neg)
3x8 @ 88

Iso Pull up holds
1x25 sec
2x15

The first one impressed me, I've never held for that long before

Tricep pull downs
20x 132
15x 132

Leg press
2x8@ 286
10 x 286

This was a machine I'd never used before and had different mechanics to the leg sled I was using before and the weight I can manage on this on is a lot lower. I felt like crying at the end of this though

Elevated Crunches
2x20

I think this was all, I added a few chins as I walked to the changing rooms too but if I think of anything Else I'll add it in
