Cate's Diary

So glad you are still able to take walks, and that you have such lovely land where you aren't walking on pavement that's hard on your knees. And great you can do exercise bike when it's raining, too. Would it be totally boring to just walk the golf course with your friends as they play a round?

Cate I am happy you can keep walking and it does seem you are on the mend . Hope you had fun with the overnight visitors

Hey Cate, good for you on the walking! I never liked the stationary bike I bought, ended up selling it. I do use the one at the gym for warm up exercising, and sometimes at the end of a workout. I know they are good exercise.

So glad it's working out with exercise! I was thinking about the vitamin C thing. I drink hot water with lime or lemon in it and a few sprinkles of salt (because otherwise it tastes gross) and that is what makes it possible for me to go in my mom's house at all without getting a massive headache from all the dust. People on IF recommend this because there are a few calories, but so many benefits that they drink this even during fasting times. I wonder if that would help with your allergies? Anyway, happy weekend, and I hope you really enjoy the golf stroll!

Hey, Rob. It feels so good to be walking every day. I must do more today as yesterday wasn't enough. I like my bike but haven't been riding it at all. It's not handy any more so I don't think of it.
Hi, Marsia. I do have a couple of hot lemon drinks every night. I love lemons & limes. I haven't had a cold for years.

Yesterday I felt the need to go somewhere today as I had spent 3 days at home, but this morning that feeling has gone again. We'll go into town tomorrow.
I sure have hayfever this morning. Oh well.

Too bad about the hayfever Cate.

That sounds like a great idea to do the walk with the golfers--keeps the social stuff intact and is good motivation for a walk!

Oh, sorry being such a mom and recommending something you already do. I have to stop doing that! Hope you have a nice day at home!!

Hi, Liza. The hay fever is much better today, thanks. I’ll only go out for a walk with the golfing ladies if I can take Arch too. I’ll suds that out at the Xmas lunch.
Hi, Marsia. Don’t apologise. I didn’t read it that way at all. I do wonder if I should start taking a C supplement but I take so many that I’m loathe to add another.
G & I went into town today & did some shopping & took Arch for his favourite walk around the river. It’s hot today!

Ok, thanks Cate! The river walk sounds lovely, and I hope you can take Arch with you for golf. I hope he's not a ball chaser though!!

Hi, M. We had a lovely walk, but it was so hot! He isn’t a ball chaser, & I’ll have him on a lead :)
We have had a real scare this afternoon with a small snake in one of our veggie beds in the yard which is also Archie’s! D, our older son, has done the snake handler course & he called in on his way home from work but couldn’t find it. I hope it’s long gone, but I am doing some serious gardening in that yard tomorrow.....or maybe not. I’ll stay with Arch when he goes to the toilet though!

We will, Liza. Snakes don't worry me unless they are close to the house. This one was way too close. I'll make lots of noise in the yard & pull out lots of my herbs today as they create too many hiding places. I might put lots of them in pots I think. It's a bit of a shame. D thinks it was probably just passing through & probably looking for food.

My grandfather used to put talk radio on in his corn patch to scare the raccoons away when the corn was almost ripe. Maybe your snake needs some good talk radio programs to listen to!

Haha Em. He goes in the yard on woodchip. I did know a cat however who used to go in the toilet.
Maybe some heavy metal, Marsia? Trouble is that would scare all of us off.
I have spent a couple of hours pulling out herbs & repotting some but generally just cleaning up the yard. I was well covered from both the sun & snakes. I have more to do still as G put some woodchips down for me & I need to spread it around. It's hot out there today.

I might put lots of them in pots I think. It's a bit of a shame. D thinks it was probably just passing through & probably looking for food.
That is too bad to have to do all that work to reorganize the garden if he was just passing through, but better safe than sorry!

Too bad you had to cover up on a nice hot day. De-snakifying sounds like good hard work! I can just picture you out there blaring heavy metal music and going to town on the weeds!!
