Cate's Diary

Love the tree with all the happy decorations! And glad you got the hair dresser you like! Having your hair so you feel like you is so important. I hate when I walk around in a haircut that makes me not feel like myself. Hope you have a happy present hunt in town today!

Thanks, all :grouphug:
I had such a good night's sleep last night but woke with awful hayfever. My eyes are stinging & I am sneezing lots. Oh, well. That's what going to cities does to me.
I really only have G's present to buy & if I don't get it before Xmas it won't matter. He hasn't bought me anything & I told him he didn't need to. We really only wrap something up for other people's benefit. If we need or want something we usually just buy it. I'm getting him a firefighting backpack.
The 2 teens/almost teen GK's I think I'll give money to as they are so hard to buy for.
A recovery day at home today. Tomorrow I have a physio ap't at 9 am.

Sorry about the hay fever but lovely updates to catch up on . Cute tree and a good hair cut all sounds like happy things

Thanks, LaMa & Petal. I’m feeling much better hay fever wise today.
I had my physio appointment this morning & that went well. My knee is healing well with what I’m doing. She has given me some balancing exercises & knee extensions( non weight bearing), recommended swimming ( not breaststroke), Tai Chi, exercise bike & a class held locally. Recommended I don’t play golf. I’m not surprised by that.
I feel good about it all really. I doubt I’ll need surgery.

That all sounds like a wonderful mix of activity. Very good that your knee is healing well!
I was so happy the other day on my walk Cate when I saw someone had a Christmas tree just like yours in their front yard! :)

Hi, Liza. It is such a relief to know that I am doing the right thing with my knee & that is improving a lot.
That's lovely that you saw a similar tree & thought of me xo

Wow, so glad you won't need knee surgery. I helped my mom through that and it was very painful. Glad you have a good therapist who's helping it heal up. I may have asked you this, but does vitamin C help for combatting your allergies? I will drink lots of pineapple and cranberry juice to help my allergies subside, and it really helps. Have you done Tai Chi before? I wonder if you'd like it as you like dancing so much. My daughter has trouble with her knees, and biking has been great - no knee strain. So glad you still have good ways to stay active!!

Hi, Marsia. I'm hopeful that I won't need surgery anyway. I'll stay on the waiting list to see the orthopaedic surgeon just in case. I consume a lot of vitamin C, but don't take it as a supplement & don't drink fruit juice, because of the sugar content. Maybe I should try taking a supplement. I have done Tai Chi before & loved it. It's great for balance & relaxation. I'm determined to stay active. I'll wait to see when these other exercise classes are & if I like them before making a commitment to Tai Chi classes.
I'm going to do some gardening today & help G with the tree that came down on top of our walnut tree. Not much else planned. D & the littlies will be here tonight for dinner & staying just for the night.

That's brilliant Cate, delighted for you. Are you into swimming? I love it.

Thanks, Em. I can't cope with the chlorine, unfortunately. Swimming would be really good for me I know.

How is the walking going Cate--is that ok for you now?
I think if i had to give up most things i wouldn't mind but i wouldn't be happy if i had to give up walking...

That’s how I felt about walking, Liza. I can cope with not playing golf, but not walking would be unbearable. I just got back from my second walk of the day with Archie :)

Excellent!
