Cate's Diary

Thanks, Em, Liza, Petal & LaMa :grouphug: Archie brings lots of joy into my life at the right time. He's so settled in now & I love spending time with him & sharing him with others. I have turned into one of those doggy Mums :blush5: He did get left at home yesterday on his own while we played golf. My knee got worse as I played yesterday & I came home fairly early, sat in my chair & had a good cry. I slept most of the evening in my chair & all through the night and after another 7 hours sleep, woke up able to walk again without strong pain. My knee is very stiff & if I'm really careful not to twist it, hopefully, it will start to get better. I would have next Wednesday off but we are halfway through the foursomes championships & only one off the pace & I don't want to let my partner down. I might try to buy a support bandage for my knee if it's not better.
I haven't had the mental energy to post in all the diaries the last couple of days.

That's really too bad about your knee Cate. have you seen anyone about it or is this a pretty new thing for you?
Sorry to hear you're feeling a little down. Hope you get your energy back soon and that your knee is better quickly too. :grouphug:

Cate I was just going to mention about a knee support but you thought of it already . I'm have painful wrist issues , it's very disheartening I know .
Sounds like you needed all that sleep . Look after yourself

Sorry to hear your knee is bothering you again :( A support bandage might help but it's best to only wear it when you need it, not all day every day.

Thanks, Liza, Petal & LaMa. I think I'll leave off getting a support bandage & try to rest my knee as much as I can. I went to lunch with the women yesterday (again) & was given some cream to try. My knee feels a bit better today after not walking yesterday.
I feel a bit cranky & anxious at the moment & will spare you the details. No major reason. I tried to find an inspirational quote for that thread but gave up after about 20 minutes searching. Instead I'll just post this link I think- Gratitude Quotes & Sayings (Thankfulness, Appreciation, Being Grateful)

Cate we all have cranky and anxious times . I feel anxious way more than I should and I overthink everything which does not help. Look after yourself xoxo

Thanks, Petal. I overthink absolutely everything & it is so frustrating and can be almost debilitating at times. We're staying away with Arch for the first time this weekend & I am trying to cover every eventuality. I must get him a name tag with my phone number on it as it takes time & a lot of effort to take a dog to a vet to have the ear tag checked if you find one. I may try getting one tomorrow in town. I was going to order an engraved collar but a tag would be less obtrusive I think. You don't really want your phone number obvious to everyone. See- overthinking.
It will be fun if we can get used to travelling with Archie. I have taken him for 2 walks today, even though my knee is hurting. I think it's starting to get better though.
D & the kids are arriving again tonight for 2 nights & G & I have them for the day tomorrow while he works. I'm going to try to look for the good in them staying, rather than getting cranky. They'll be grown up before we know it & I would like to think they will have good memories of us as they move on.
We are going down to R's on Sunday morning & staying one night. He has live music & it will be his last shindig in this house as he is selling up. It is limited to 20 people outside, even though Tassie is C-free.

even though my knee is hurting. I think it's starting to get better though.

I have not been feeling up to posting in diaries, but I do hope your knee heals and is not serious. Take it easy and look after yourself.

Thanks, Tru. You are SO busy & unwell so it’s perfectly understandable that you haven’t felt like posting in diaries.

Another early morning for me. I have been waking at 4.30-5 unable to get back to sleep. *sigh*
There is SO much bird noise. Hopefully my body will adjust to Spring.
My knee is starting to come good.

I went for a cigarette today (boo) BUT there were loads of baby birds out on the grass feasting on the worms. And a beautiful robin sitting in a tree. I think robins are my favourite birds, they are so lovely. Anyway, I hope you adjust to the chorus of birdsong - I think it's lovely but it can be loud!! :)

Delighted to hear that the knee is healing. Have a lovely day Cate. x

Cate have a wonderful weekend . Embrace the grandkids and your time away . Hope the knee is better . You will adjust to spring . Do you turn on devices or anything when you wake ?
We had about 20 song thrushes in our garden the other day . They were amazing . Never really saw before or not seen since but I'm so hoping they live In Our garden .

Thanks, Em, Xena & Petal. I’ll just have to start going to bed earlier or wear earplugs. I love the bird sounds too. I leave all devices in the living room & have my phone on do not disturb from 11-7.
I think I will adjust to Spring but it’s probably also time to take the Winter doona off.
We’re enjoying having the kids & our older GS is coming up for dinner tonight too.

Thanks, Petal. It has been lovely. G is having a game of snooker & the younger two are playing Uno. I’m just chilling out with Arch & I am going to try to get an early night. I had a nap again this afternoon. 4.30 is way too early to wake.

4:30 is WAY too early to wake up. And I´m a friend of early mornings. Hope you have a solid night´s sleep.

Well as you know I have been sleeping badly for years but recently I have improved . I can’t pinpoint why so not much help but I empathise

Well birdsong is much more pleasant than the dirt bikes at least!
But yes it always takes me some adjusting to spring with the earlier light and increased activity of nature. I'm pretty good at knocking out for a nap when needed which is really helpful for me.
It's so helpful to have your phone number on the dog tag--i was able to get a lost and tired dog home once so quickly with the phone number there!

Thanks, LaMa, Petal & Liza. I got a bit better night’s sleep last night & woke at 5.30, which is an improvement. Feel very anxious this morning. D & the kids have gone & we should get on the move. I must see if I can get a tag soon. I would hate to lose Archie! It really scares me.
