Cate's Diary

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit under the weather, particularly when things feel like they're going a million miles an hour. Hope you have a nice weekend in any event!

Quite a few little things have thrown me out this week. They're not worth mentioning really, but sometimes my brain stews on things.
Those little things can really add up and leaving us feeling exhausted and drained.

That is tough about the ongoing issues around the visits with the grandkids and constant changes of plans. That kind of stuff gets to me as well. I like to have things organized and planned. And when even picking up some veggies can be made difficult in covid times it can be annoying to have things just changed up like that.

I hope you can get some good, restful self-care time in Cate.:grouphug:

LaMa- I suppose I could be adjusting to Spring. G’s sister is often snappy, usually at her sister.
I was relieved not to have them Friday night & Sat during the day. It was his 14 yr old daughter who changed the plans this time. Instead, I took Archie into town & we did lots of walking. The market was just overcrowded- too many people, too many cars, too many dogs. Instead, I walked around the river & then abandoned the market after 10 minutes.
Petal- I think you are right about quite a few things. My SIL's leg is much better. They had given her an anti-inflammatory injection in it.
101- Thanks. I'm fine now & don't feel so tired. I had a better night's sleep.
Lisa- I don't like plans changing last minute, but was relieved this time I must admit. I really feel that it was a lot of little things this week and a fair bit is hayfever. I had another nap this afternoon.
It is Fathers Day here in Australia & D gave G some nice little pressies (tomato relish, kippers, pickled onions etc). They left at 9.30 this morning & G cut wood with a friend who hadn't been out for months & I took Arch for a walk in the bush. Not having the kids the whole weekend was much more preferable.

It was, LaMa. I’m glad we had a chance to relax. We actually enjoyed the evening with D & the kids & our older GS came for dinner & snooker last night too.
G & I just got back from walking Arch again & are chilling out again.

Cate your a good mum and grandmother . Glad you enjoyed the time with them . I love having guests but totally love when they leave

Thank you, Petal :grouphug:
Yes, as much as I love them, it’s also lovely to have them leave. I’m glad they came though.

I slept very well last night & didn't wake once until 6 am. I have woken up with Asthma however & struggling to clear it this morning which is unusual. I walked a lot in the damp bush & I think it may have been foggy during the night. I feel I have fog on my lungs. I might take Arch into town today instead.

May the town air clear your lungs for you :grouphug:
I was fine after a couple of hours, thanks, LaMa. Thanks for the hug xo
Hope you feel better later Cate . Might just be early morn gung from sleeping . Hope you enjoy town visit
Thanks, Petal. It’s a combination I think of earlier than usual mornings, more walks in the bush.....hmmm. Lucky I love Archie.
We had a lovely walk in town & it was very social. Dog people talk to other dog people. It’s lovely.

Glad your weekend went well Cate and glad your asthma cleared up ok. The walk in town sounds lovely connecting with all the other dog people :) I see that around here all the time too!

LaMa- Good morning birthday girl :beating: I must never forget how much happier I am having a dog. I have never had a dog that I take with me just about everywhere. I really do think he's my therapy dog. He's very good for me.
Liza- It is a lovely feeling walking around the river, chatting to most of the dog owners. Some aren't as friendly, but I say hello to everyone anyway. I always have. There is one very elderly lady that I saw up the street, who I met once before. She can't have a dog as she is not very mobile (uses a walker) & I lift Archie up for her to pat him. We chatted for longer yesterday. It was a nice connection.
It feels like Sunday here today. I feel relaxed & quite content & a bit lazy after another good night's sleep.

Ah, lovely to hear how much joy Archie is bringing to your life. I've never owned a dog, but it's definitely something I'd like in the future. It's funny, my mother had dogs when she was a child and my grandfather on my dad's side kept greyhounds that he looked after well past their racing days, and yet neither of my parents have any desire for a dog. I kind of want them to get one so I can go visit. They are having none of it, haha.

I love hearing your joy of Archie as well Cate. I was raised with all sorts of animals around but I'm not really up for bringing one into my life right now. They take a lot of work and care. But yes they really are so therapeutic.

That sounds so good!

Thsts really kind Cate to spend time with the lady and share Archie for a cuddle. I can't imagine not having a dog either.

That's just lovely :beating:
