Cate's Diary

Good luck with eye appt although I guess they well over now and hope your power is back . Seems like you have our Irish weather now Cate . Lol
Do you get crazy wind, Petal? I don't like being out in it, but now we have Archie it means I get little sleep on a windy night :svengo:
I need new glasses, which I don't mind. I had decided to get new ones anyway as my current ones fog up & feel heavy sometimes. The new ones will be much lighter. I managed to like the first ones I tried on, but I discarded them because they're purple. These ones are a pretty blue & were only the second ones I tried on. That is a minor miracle. My eyes have changed but not deteriorated that much. My cataracts are 2 different sorts apparently, but not yet big enough to do anything about yet. She suggested I use the eye drops my GP gave me the other day more often. My eyes are very dry. *sigh* I need to buy some little squirty bottles for my pocket/handbag for eye drops & ionic silver for hand protection.
:D I can see Archie and you becoming conjoined twins.
I really do think he's my therapy dog, LaMa. He just makes me feel better. Everywhere we go people coo over him. He makes others smile. We actually had a lovely day & were home by 1.30 for a lunch which was already plated up. Even visited the BIL & SIL & that was nice. Hopefully, he will stop getting nasty infections.
Feeling pleasantly tired now after a 15-minute nap & then another walk with Arch.

Cate I need an eye test too although it’s not been a year but I’m struggling a bit .
Your day sounds lovely , fun with Archie , a nice lunch and a nap . Good for you. Enjoy the evening

Take care of those eyes Cate, we only get the one pair. I generally carry my eye drops everywhere these days, especially when I have more allergies.

Thanks, Petal & LaMa. I will get a little bottle for the drops as this one is clunky & I will make sure I use them much more often.
It’s very still tonight so we should get a good night’s sleep! Yay!

Oh, dear! :blush5:
I’ll have to rephrase that question.
Do the Irish get a lot of wind?
Whoops!
Does Ireland get a lot of wind?
Phew.
I love Archie, Em. Even when I get little sleep I still adore him.

That's great you found some nice glasses you like on second try only!
I think I would like a greenhouse/hothouse so that I can plant more things over the cooler months.
A greenhouse sounds like a nice idea. I've never done much with greenhouses myself. They seem like a lot of work, getting the conditions just right. I've got a pretty good growing season where i am so don't really need to extend it. Our soils here bring the biggest issues. It's sandy soils that seem to have difficulty holding nutrients. I grew up in a very different region than here so it's a real learning experience on how to get the soil to really produce properly.

Hi, folks. Thanks for all of your input. I have been feeling really tired & not up to posting. My left knee is really playing up. I think it was a bit touchy before I played golf on Wednesday, but it was hurting last night & I have really struggled to walk at all today. I still did as Arch just stares at me with his big brown eyes & with his tail wagging, looking at the door & back at me until I cave. I had a couple of walks but incorporated them with G driving me back home again as it's always uphill. Even walking downhill hurts.

Oh that sucks about the knee Cate. I hate injuries like that that stop me from doing/enjoying the things I like.
Take care and hope it's better soon!
Maybe some nice restful epsom salt baths and just some lying about to let the knee rest...

Thanks, Liza & LaMa. Rest really helps as I wake with very little pain & my mobility is much better. I dusted my bike for 5 minutes (2.5km only) & it felt good. Then I tried getting off the bike & OUCH! I think rest will be the answer, but I’m now looking forward to getting back to riding my bike again regularly. Thanks for the reminder, LaMa :)

I went for a walk with Archie & my knee was ok & then I did a little gardening so maybe the bike loosened it up a bit, LaMa. I had moved the bike out of the snooker room a couple of weeks ago to a more prominent place to encourage me & I will hop on it each day in September I think, even if it's just for a minimum of 2.5 km. It will be a part of my plan.

Glad your knee is feeling a bit better Cate and that you managed a walk and some gardening :)
Good plan re the bike.

Thanks, Liza xo
