Jen- It's an insidious virus & once it gets out in the community it spreads so easily. Our borders have been fairly effectively shut to everyone, including other Australians, with some exceptions.

Liza- restrictions are confusing, but I do my own thing too & mostly stay at home & rarely touch other people. My ionised silver spray is my friend & I use it all the time when I'm out. The rhubarb crumble was delish, but has now gone.
Petal- I think most of us do like our time to ourselves. I just don't feel like going into an enclosed space of any sort any more & prefer my human interaction outside. G rarely uses a recipe when he cooks, but this is roughly how he makes rhubarb crumble. He stews a whole heap of rhubarb, with some sugar(1/2 a cup?) & then while it's warm add a crumbly mix of about 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup coconut, cup of plain flour, a couple of teaspoons mixed spice, 75g soft butter & 1/2 cup brown sugar. You could reduce the sugar especially in the stewed mix and/or use an artificial sweetener. We just have a little piece, sometimes with a dollop of Greek yoghurt, but of course, it's much nicer with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Em- I'm not really worried about being a hermit. I make myself ring people. Yesterday I called in to see someone to see if she wanted to go for a walk with us, but she wasn't home. I tried
Jack- It's not even slightly confusing for me. It used to be decades ago until my older sister went to live in the US & then I made myself get used to it. Where I live we really do have distinct seasons, sometimes in one day. I just love coming out of Winter into Spring, but try not to sound too excited about it as it doesn't seem fair to the Northern hemispherites, although many in here have awful summers & are glad to see the last of them. Our summers are not horrible.
"Tasmania has four distinct seasons with the warmest months being December to March. The average maximum daily summer temperatures are between 17 and 23 degrees Celsius and winter daily temperatures sit between 3 and 11 degrees Celsius. Rainfall varies dramatically across the island."
I really enjoyed yesterday & will do that more often. Walking in town is more sociable & is flat. Up here every walk is uphill on the way back to the house. Today, however, I will stay at home. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow & a podiatrist's ap't Tuesday & I probably should play golf on Wednesday......

He's funny, LaMa. He won me over & I went & changed & took him into town. We walked & walked & I tuckered him out. There was no nagging at 5 pm for a second walk. It was very sociable for both of us & I saw lots of other doggie people & also people I knew to say hello to. No shoppingI love that! Better not leave the two home alone.
