Cate's Diary

:beerchug: Here’s to your good health Cate.

Thanks, Em & Petal. I do need to bring down my cholesterol a bit, Petal. A bit less cheese maybe?
I can't make up my mind whether to go to golf today. Humming, harring........

How did you decide, I wonder? Either way I hope you´re enjoying yourself :) Now I´m wondering how much cheese you eat?

LaMa- I went because I remembered it was a sponsor day( 2 women who no longer play but still sponsor a day). I quite enjoyed the day. I played with 2 women I rarely play with & enjoyed their company.
I don’t really eat much cheese, but do eat butter, eggs & red meat.
Rob- My cholesterol is ok. I’m too tired to fish out my figures & will do tomorrow.
I am knackered! I woke up at 4.30 & couldn’t get back to sleep & then played 18 holes of golf zzz
I left almost straight away after presentation( no wine). They’ll get used to it.

They will get used to it. And if you're knackered now imagine how you'd feel if you'd had a couple of glasses.

That's right. LaMa. I then used to drive 15 km home afterwards, looking directly into the sun. Yesterday I got home & had a diet tonic which perked me up a bit & then took Archie for a walk. After that, I made a pot of herbal tea & shared it with G when he got home.
What matters more is that you are getting used to it. Good for you!
Glad your cholesterol is ok.
Thanks, Rob. You're right. I'm glad I have broken that habit.

I slept like a log last night & made up for the night before. We won't go anywhere today. Tomorrow we are going for eye tests. I am fairly sure I need new glasses. We'll also visit our BIL & SIL. He has been in hospital again with an infection. He has had so many health problems.

that sounds so much better than sticking around for drinks!

Thanks, Liza. I enjoyed the day much more by not sticking around for the talk afterwards I think, just as much as the drinks. It's just too long a day.
I am really aching today, especially my left knee. G & went for a walk with Arch (me with a walking stick) & I have just done some weeding, sitting down. It's about to rain. I think I would like a greenhouse/hothouse so that I can plant more things over the cooler months. I don't want nasty plastic though.
Lovely. It's raining :)

Funny I was thinking about a glasshouse too but I fear the wind would destroy it .
Cate I know on SW we are allowed 30g of full fat or 40g low fat cheese per day. That would be say a cheddar . Think it's a bit more for mozzarella.

Hi, Petal. A glasshouse may be risky here too as it gets very windy. I'll do some homework & check them out. I wouldn't have any more than 30g of full fat cheese on any day & often none.

I think going golfing but not always sticking around after could be a good strategy to still be social but not be bothered by the conversations afterwards.
I think so too. It’s safer.
That’s perfect then Cate . I love cheese . I’m glad I can still have a bit .
Yes that’s a good golf strategy
I love cheese too, Petal. We buy good cheese & have a little.
I have had very little sleep. It was a wild night- crazy wind, power out for hours, Archie crying, G snoring.....
We have ap’ts at the optometrist in town at 9.30, otherwise I would curl up & go to sleep. I felt better when G said he didn’t see why we couldn’t take Arch with us :beating: Instantly I felt much better!

Good luck with eye appt although I guess they well over now and hope your power is back . Seems like you have our Irish weather now Cate . Lol
