Needless to say, I had a great time...

I ended up not exercising last night but will make up for this today... I brought gym stuff to work and I'm hoping I can slip out before lunch time for an hour or so.

I'm feeling weak today... woozy, a bit dizzy and nauseous... gotta looove hangovers!

Anyway, at 4am I got woken to be told my mom had been in a car accident. She is in hospital now and has a knee injury and a cut into the muscle of her face... she'll be getting operated on but will be fine.

I'm not going to rant about this further here, so you can check out my diary to see why I am so mad at my mother. Oh, and I'm going to be posting some pictures there today too... like a time line of my life til now.

Cheers all!

Ok guys, I'm off to gym now, my boss gave me time off coz off my mom's accident so I'll be leaving work in a few minutes.

Thought I should update my stats so long, as I won't be getting to a computer til tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about the car accident.

Also sorry to hear about the hangover.

It sounds like you had a good time at the buffet - and as you well know - you did really well in places and dropped the ball a little in other places. We all are inclined to do that (I did that on Saturday). You certainly dont need to be told that alcohol is empty calories - it certainly can help people enjoy parties though!

Well done for determining to go to the gym now.

6.5.08

Getting stressed at work but that is actually helping out with everything. I have no time to snack at the office and the workout is a stress reliever so...

Breakfast- breakfast bar, yogurt, oatmeal
lunch- apple, 2 tangerine, tuna, raisins
dinner- stuffed tiapila(sp?), mashed potatoes and a good size salad
dessert- chocolate animal crackers and a Popsicle.

plenty of fruits and/or vegetables to qualify....

exercise- ss cardio day. 45 good, quality minutes on the elliptical with a peak HR of 155. I feel good today, stresses but good.
:D

Friday: 06/06/08

At least 3 hours exercise out walking.
Pedometer readings at end of day:
---Steps = 28,886
---Distance = 11.16 miles
My Food / Drink:
2.5 litres of cold water
some diet cola
3 weetabix, sweetener, 350 ml skimmed milk
Shape no fat yoghurt - strawberry
4 oz ham, cucumber, lettuce, 1 red pepper, celery, 1 spring onion
chicken breast, gravy, carrot, broccoli, onion, cabbage, celery, cauliflower
1 banana
2 peaches
4 plums
1 pear
27 grapes
1 apple
30 cherries
1 kiwi fruit
sugar free jelly (2.5 sachets)

More than enough fruit and veg- my sweet tooth was apparent so I had extra fruit and jelly compared to normal (and I normally have tons!!!)

Weight in morning 10st 0.0 i.e. 140.0 pounds
My small weight loss was due to me having incurred a gain with my eating on Friday and particularly Saturday which I have been eroding all week.
Unfortunately this was my second week where I expect a weightloss - I expect a weight gain next week!!!

Hi Team - I am so so so sorry. I didn't get to weigh in until this morning because last night consumed me. There were some family issues that weren't so much fun to deal with.

I did update my stats this morning. I was very very shocked when I got on the scale. I don't know if I'm retaining water - if I ate too much sodium this week - or what the crap happened! I'm very upset about my gain. I know that these ups and downs happen - but SIX POUNDS?!?!?!

I may be changing one detail about the contest - so make sure you guys check out the main thread.

Anke - I'm so sorry to hear about the accident.

Here's some motivation for the weekend! Have a great one!

When the reason why is powerful enough, you can find the strength necessary to get the job done. When the reason why is clear enough, you can develop the discipline required to reach the goal.

When the reason why is meaningful enough, you will gain access to the resources you need to make it happen. When the reason why is compelling enough, you will have the persistence needed to see it through.

Whatever you undertake, it is essential to understand and connect to the reason why you're doing it. With a strong enough and meaningful enough reason why, you will find a way there.

Though the obstacles may seem overwhelming, a compelling reason why will motivate you to get past them. Though the challenges may be enormous, a clear reason why will bring you the encouragement necessary to work through them.

Before you begin, ask yourself why. When the going gets rough, remind yourself why.

Know, understand, and connect to a meaningful reason why. And you'll find a way to get it done.

Morning everyone! Well, I got up really early this morning - I think its gonna be a good day. I didn't have to force myself to get up - just woke up refreshed at 6am.

Its been really really hot in Pittsburgh the last couple of days - so I'm going to take advantage of the cool temperature this morning and head to the laundromat to do about 10 loads of laundry! I'll be sweatin my ass off by the time the sun comes up!

Anyways - got on the scale again this morning just to see if last week's gain was partially water weight - I'm assuming it wasn't because its still the same! :banghead:

Normally, I would get frustrated and just say screw it - but to be honest, I think this needed to happen to really kick my ass into gear. So, this week will be good.

Okay - so I haven't eaten anything yet today, but I can at least put my positive affirmation up! I got a compliment last night that I'm going to use -

6/8 - I HAVE REALLY NICE SKIN!

God, I'm usually so hard on myself that it feels weird saying something positive like that! Hope this challenge works for me as well.

I will check back later today - hope you guys have a wonderful Sunday!

Fitday really is so cool... you can create custom nutrition goals and see if you've met them by the end of the day! Obviously right now my goal is 30 g of dietary fibre per day :)

So for Sunday:

Bonus complete! 30 grams of fibre.

Have you ever licked the back of a CD to try to get it to work?:: No

What's the largest age difference between yourself and someone you’ve dated?:: 6 years

Are looks important?:: Yes and no. I think that you want to find someone attractive before you fall in love. Once I love a person - it doesnt really matter how their appearance changes - they still look the same to me. My husband's appearance has changed dramatically to everyone else over the past 23 years but not to me. My mother says that my father looks much the same at 90 to her as he did when he was 23 when they met.

Are you a good tipper?:: Adequate according to the service level (or if the person serving is a friend of mine) - sometimes good - sometimes bad.

What would your last meal be before getting executed?:: Dont know - but pancakes, chocolate, double cream and cointreau would all be involved!

Beer, wine or hard liquor?:: Liqueur so I suppose that counts as hard liquor

Do you have any phobias?:: Snakes

If you were an animal what would you be?:: Not sure - either a cat that wants to lie in the sun or a bouncy puppy depending on mood.

What do you do as soon as you walk in the house?:: Head for the computer to see what is going on here.

Do you like horror or comedy?:: Comedy - hate horror

Where do you want to live when you are old?:: Divide time between Rhodes, Greece and Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

Who is the person you can count on the most?:: Me. Followed by my husband.

If you could date any celebrity past or present, who would it be?:: Dont know. Have been married too long to even think of such a thing.

What is your favorite sport to watch?:: Dancing if that counts as a sport. The only proper sport that I ever watch is my nephew play rugby.

Are you named after anyone?:: My first name Margaret was after my paternal grandmother. My second name Patricia was an afterthought as my auntie insisted that I had a middle name as my grandmother had a hard life.

What is your favorite alcoholic drink?:: Cointreau.

Non alcoholic drink?:: Tesco diet cola with almond.

Have you ever been in love?:: Yes

Do you sing in the shower?:: No

What is your favorite Holiday?:: My birthday

Would you ever get plastic surgery?:: Yes. Currently seriously considering breast reduction surgery and a tummy tuck. If you had asked me two years ago I would have said "no" - but I have worked too hard to get a new me to not end up with a body that I feel comfortable with.

Have you ever caught a fish?:: No.

Affirmations

Sunday 8th June - I try to be a supportive Auntie.
I spent Sunday afternoon watching my nephew play professional rugby. I cannot say that I am a big fan of the sport (or any sport) but I am a big fan of him.

Monday 9th June - I am a loving wife.
Rod and I have been married for 22 years. I tell him every day how much I love him.

Okay guys - the Green Team has stolen the lead from us! Let's be on top of our game this week. I feel like we're not all communicating enough - I mean, most of us are coming on here to post what we ate - but I think that we all need to do a better job at encouraging each other and really being involved as a team - myself included!

Now that I got my speech out of the way... :)

Yesterday was a pretty good day - woke up, did my laundry for 2 hours and 45 minutes. I did indeed SWEAT MY ASS OFF! Came home, carried all 11 loads up to my second floor apartment - spent 45 min putting all of the laundry away.

After that, I did a thorough cleaning of my apartment - took about an hour.

So, my question is, does any of that count as exercise? My legs say it does. But before I include that in my exercise total - I'll get your feedback.

Food for the day -

Raisin Bran Cereal w/2% milk
1 Pork Egg Roll
Apple with Peanut Butter
Broiled Chicken Tenderloin marinated in low cal Italian dressing
Country Style Baked Beans
Whole Wheat Rice
Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwich
Lots of Sugar Free Koolaid and Water - I was hot!

Didn't feel like eating a whole lot yesterday because I was running around and sweating - but I wanted to make sure I got my fiber in.

Total Fiber for Sun 6/8 - 30.68 grams. WOOOHOOO!

Oops - almost forgot my positive affirmation for the day -

6/9 - I do really good impersonations!

Rah, PinkFluff and Bigguy - where's your positives?? Make sure that you post 2 today - one for Sunday and one for today - we need those extra points for all of us completing the bonus to get our lead back. How's the Fiber going??

How's everyone doing with exercise so far this week?

'ello all.

I was unable to get online yesterday until very late due to the storms passing through the Midwest. lots of wind and rain- things blew over and my cable was out for the better part of yesterday.
that being said I ate like crap due to the weather and the lack of something to do. luckily i am a fiber junkie and easily hit my goal. Hell- I had 20 grams before breakfast was over- all bran cereal, 2 servings.
I am going to have issues with the positive affirmation challenge- just waring you all in advance. i know it sounds easy and I could make stuff up but I refuse to do that and I am finding it hard to even find things now in my head.
So- fiber bonus complete for Sunday.
Affirmation-6/8 I am a good friend.
I was recently told this by someone I have become close to.

Exercise yesterday was an hour 5 minute bike ride.
