Weight-Loss ACCOUNTABILITY THREAD - The Purple Team Thread

Weight-Loss
Monday 6/9.
Positive afirmation- I am a good listener.

Food so far is fine. 10 grams of fiber so far. Again- I will not have an issue with this challange.
I plan on 70 minutes or so of exercise tonight. 30 WT- 40 elliptical.
Still wieghedin at 222 this monring but with how I ate yesterday I am concerned about an increase this week- my body has a tendency to post gains two days or so after a food binge not the next day.
I know one day does not undo everything but we will see.
I need to be good this week and get my workouts in and refocus my eating a bit.

Hey guys! I'm really glad we're doing a fiber challenge, I need it!

And hey! Brian, just think back to when you were younger and less judgmental about yourself... what were your best qualities then? Dunno if that helps...

I don't know about any of you guys, but I'm keeping these weekly bonuses as we move on to the next one... it's like I'm building new, positive habits, every week! Thank you for this contest, thank you thank you!

'ello all.

I am going to have issues with the positive affirmation challenge- just waring you all in advance. i know it sounds easy and I could make stuff up but I refuse to do that and I am finding it hard to even find things now in my head.

I know exactly how you feel - its hard for me too. Its not a norm for me to say positive things about myself. But, if we feel better about ourselves and realize that there is more to our character than just our weight - it will help us succeed in the long run!

Ankebuzz - I'm so happy the contest is helping you form new habits. That is why I wanted to make the contest a little longer too so that we can do them not just for a month. I may even end up repeating bonuses - so again, its good that you're keeping up with them. :)

If you knew me you would know that I am never one to say positive things about myself form my personal life. I am very positive about myself in my career but personally I have always had issues.
This may be the hardest challange for me yet. Eating/drinking I am fine with- that is easy- but trying to find things I like about myself........

And hey! Brian, just think back to when you were younger and less judgmental about yourself... what were your best qualities then? Dunno if that helps...

Shit, it was worse when I was younger. At least now I have a shot at finding something positive. years ago there would be no chance. :D

It's good that the challenge is hard for you - its meant to open you up to new things to help with your success. Its a hard battle for a lot of people seeing the positives about themselves - I think to help you with it, you should post TWO every day! lol It's worth a shot!

ALL FOR THE CRAZY GETTING!

But seriously now, I've gotten in 19 g of fiber, will come update by end of the day. Anyone got really handy tips on getting that fiber in? (Mal... nudge nudge)

Well, leaving work and off to gym now. Still can't believe I'm doing all this good stuff. It would seem too good to be true if I wasn't me... umm, ye.

Anke - Baked beans and pears are great for fibre. Also cereal, baked potatoes and general fruit and veg.

Post a few on fitday and see your fibre jump up - then go and eat them.

I will post my food for Sunday and what I plan on having today in a minute.
I am sure that you will get a few good clues in my food for today.

Hi Guys

Im still here...
I think im doing really well with the food in general
but looking at what im eating now to get the fibre in which i have done for sun and mon i am still managing to get the water and the fruit and veg in this is part of the lifestyle change and i hope it will come naturally to me soon

I too am finding it so hard to think positive just generally and its hard to put it down on 'paper' as it makes it so real
like yesterday i think I look really good in this top but then today that bit of confidence is shattered by a remark that i have probably taken in the wrong way and they didnt mean it but i am paranoid and think the worst

Sunday-I AM a good listener -helping a collegue through a tough time and she said thanks and had a cry on my shoulder (making a nice wet patch lol)

Monday - I am very organised

Seems like we all have this problem. This is a darn good challange then. Maybe we will all learn something about ourselves. :D

isnt that wierd how that works. I can get 20 complements and one perceived negative comment can bring me all the way down. I hate how touchy I am about this.
But it is always nice to know I am not alone.

That is one of the things I love about this forum. There are a bunch of people that went through or are going through the same stuff as me.

No one else ever really understood.

Hi everyone

Sorry i haven't checked-in in a while, I've just been really busy... and then I actually couldn't login to the site today, it just kept freezing on me!

So I hope it's not too late to post the positive affirmation things... i don't want to lose points for the team..... The fibre has been going well, unlike the eating and exercise.... but tomorrow will be a better day!

I find this positive affirmation thing really challenging, we used to have to do it when I was at school and I'd do everything to avoid doing it! So was glad to read I'm not alone! Urgh... so here goes:

Sunday: I'm a good listener (so I've been told - and I listened to that.. so... lol!)

Monday: I'm quite calm and laid-back (I'm not 100% sure if that's a good thing, but there it is anyway)

Hope everyone's good, will speak to you soon!

Have you ever licked the back of a CD to try to get it to work?:: No... I've washed them, but will keep the licking in mind for next time!

What's the largest age difference between yourself and someone you’ve dated?:: 3 years

Are looks important?:: Not really, only so far as whether someone LOOKS friendly, nice, fun-loving etc, a lot of it is in the eyes, does that make sense?!

Are you a good tipper?:: If the service is good

What would your last meal be before getting executed?:: Hmm, that's tough... I don't know if I'd be feeling that hungery in that situation! But chocolate cheese cake would definitley be in there...

Beer, wine or hard liquor?:: Which ever is put in front of me first!

Do you have any phobias?:: Have a proper like medical phobia of spiders! Shaking, sweating sometimes crying... not so much fun, feel ill thinking about them!

If you were an animal what would you be?:: A spider, lol, nooo! Erm I haven't a clue, probably .... a puppy in a house or one of the big cats in the wild.

What do you do as soon as you walk in the house?:: Get jumped on by my puppy and take my shoes and often socks off

Do you like horror or comedy?:: Comedy (like Anke said, it has to be clever) I used to love horrors but absolutely hate them now, they're too scary!

Where do you want to live when you are old?:: Somewhere with friendly people, sunny weather would be a nice plus

Who is the person you can count on the most?:: Mum

If you could date any celebrity past or present, who would it be?:: Ooh i don't know... I don't think I'd turn down a date with most of them, I assume they'd be paying! Well when i was younger (early teens) i was IN LOVE with Michael J Fox! Oh and Harrison Ford in his heyday, either of them!

What is your favorite sport to watch?:: Ice-skating or gymnastics
Are you named after anyone?:: Er, come to think of it I'm the only one in my family who isn't!

What is your favorite alcoholic drink?:: I don't know what it's called but its a pint glass with 1 measure vodka, 1 measure peach schnapps, 1 measure raspberry puree/sauce and fill the second half of glass with orange juice. Very nice, wish I had one now

Non alcoholic drink?:: Dr Pepper or fruit juice

Have you ever been in love?:: Yes

Do you sing in the shower?:: Yeah, apparently I do, and didn't even realise

What is your favorite Holiday?:: All sorts, beach, snow, countryside city are all great. Something new is always interesting.

Would you ever get plastic surgery?:: Yes, nothing massive, but if i had the money, without a doubt yes. Unfortunately I don't and most likely never will have the money!

Have you ever caught a fish?:: Yes! In a net when I was 11! It was a carp the size of a football, it was amazing! Made sure my friend saw it, so people would believe me, then let it go agian.
