I'm up to the challenge! Definitley up to it. I have the same goal... about the same amount of weight to lose this year. This is great. Thanks a lot :)

January Gone!!

January was a great month and great start to my life change. Amber I think you asked what I was doing and besides drinking about a gallon of water a day, I am currently on Phase 1 of South Beach. I am going to continue on phase 1 until the end of february and then I will go to phase 2. I also cut out all fast food, sodas (reg and diet) and most of the salty snacking. Goal weight by January 1st, 2009= 280 (hopefully more)

After a good December for weight loss things have really slowed down here. I am working as hard as ever but my loss is comparitively poor.

This is my worst month's loss yet.


Start weight(January 1st, 2008)= 12st 0.4 lbs i.e. 168.4 pounds
Goal weight by January 1st, 2009 = 8 st 7 lbs i.e. 119 pounds

NB - Since I am coming down from 294 where I was for twenty years (weight loss project started February 2007) there is some uncertainty as to what my eventual goal weight should be. I know that I am 5ft 3 ins with a small frame. This is my current "best guess" but it may need to be revisited when I see what I look like.

Okay I updated my outline on page 2 of this thread.
I am as of this morning weighing in at 188.6!!!!
That puts me at a 10.6 pound loss for the month of January. When you consider that I did not put on any holiday pounds so had no *extra* to lose I think I did very well!!!!
Lots of hard work and eating good foods. Oh and of course loads of H20!

COngrats everyone for losing this months, lets hope for a ever better month next month!!! I want to try lose 10lbs for Febuary!!! I have lost 11 lbs for January and 16lbs total!! I'm so happy!! Hope everyone has a good day!

Let's do this. I lost 25 of it last year and gained it all back in the last 4 months...let's keep the motivation high for the new year.

A small setback with vacation and only making it to the gym once this week with all the snow. But still came in with 11.8 lost. Hopefully next month will be just as much or a little more.

I edited my original post as well on the 2nd page but thought I'd repost it also. So far I am down 5.5 pounds. I was hoping for a bit more but I must admit I was not very strict with myself. Im hoping for a better number for March 1st, but 5.5 pounds is better than 0 or a gain.

This is the first time I posted on here since this started. I have not been doing too good this past month. I gained 1.6. I went to Disney on the 10th of Jan. and was there for 12 days. Since getting back I have had very little motivation. I am not eating horribly, but it is not the best either. I think if I come on these forums more it will keep me motivated. Man I only lost 1 pound for the whole month of February, to much yo-yo'ing. Hopefully March will be a better month. Looking to be at 322 by April 1st.

Well as you can tell March was a horrible month just like February and April has not been to good either. Still have one week left for April so let's hope its a good week.

Well April turned out not to be such a bad month, within the last two weeks I lost quite a bit, partly due to the fact that I really could not eat solid food due to dental work. So let's see what May brings. Good Luck in May everyone.

May was a good month for me, I am down 9 pounds as of 5-29-08, so this will be my weight I reflect as of 6-1-08, Good luck in June to everyone. So hard with summer upon us and all the good BBQ Holidays coming up.

Well June was not good, was down only 3.2 pounds. I am not going to get discouraged over this though, because I was on a 2 week vacation and also had to travel for work for a week so I pretty much did not do any work outs and I ate and drank so much while on vacation and work traveling that being down 3.2 pounds is a decent number for me. Let's hope July will get me into the 200 that I have been longer for since I started this thing we all call weight loss. Good Luck in July Everyone.

Man I thought June was bad, well July was even worse I actually gained 1.4 pounds for the month. Once again, to much going up and down. I would lose then gain it back, so hopefully August will be the month that the weights starts to come off again. I had set a mini goal for myself to be under 300 by the time I went to Vegas for Labor Day Weekend. I have 4 weeks to do that from now, so wish me luck everyone and good luck to everyone in August.

Well August was going well, I actually got down to 304.2, but then gained 3 pounds that last week of August. Hopefully September will be better, really looking to break that 200 pound mark by the end of the month.

September was looking to be good, I was down 7.2 pounds with still 2 weigh-ins to go for the month, but work travel messed me up, becuase I have no will power when out with friends. So I only ended up losing 5.4 pounds, but I am looking to have a big month for October. I still have 25 pounds to lose to hit that 75 pounds for the year. So hopefully October - December will be good to me, or should I say I will be good to myself. Good luck in October everyone.

October and November were just okay months, not looking to good to get to my 75 pounds for the year. Still have all of December to lose a few more pounds, so I guess we will see where I end up at. Happy Thankgiving to Everyone.

I am hoping to get to my goal by the end of the year, but if I only make 75lbs; then I will still be over the moon.
