WTF Is Overtraining?

Not happy with this, I could lift 194 about 4 months ago. The weak link was my right arm, this was the highest weight my right arm could lift with, the left could have done more. Why could this be? I’m right handed so surely it should be my stronger side?

I have to do some running at lunch time, dreading it :( Haven't run anywhere in a long time

I'm up to 223lbs now so I'm going int the right direction. Did a massive food shop yesterday as well so I can pile on a few lbs this week too

Time to come clean about something I guess; when I lost my job a couple of months back I started smoking again.
I gave up for the second time about a week ago mainly because of my kids but also because I think it impedes muscle repair and therefore hinders any gains.
I’ve been using patches which seem to work wonders with me as I haven’t had a single cigarette for 7 days now but the patches give me huge muscle pains localised to the area of the patch.

Does anyone think that the patch could be the reason my right arm was so much weaker today? I had the patch on my right arm yesterday

often the shoulder on the dominant side (right shoulder in your case) can have some problems because you do most of your activities with that hand, throw a ball, punch someone, etc. This can lead to tightness, instabilities, imbalances, etc in that shoulder causing you to be weaker on the right side in some movements involving the shoulder.

that could be it, doesn't have to be.

Stretching

just did this and feel like I'm about to have a heart attack still

I started the first set at 22km/h but after about 20 seconds realised I was losing control and would probably fly off the end so lowered pace to 19km/h. I stayed at that pace for the following 3 sets but reduced to 18km/h for the final set. My lungs now feel like they don't work and I'm shaking a bit

I did a bit of stretching and a lot of foam roller stuff because I've been aching a lot

That snatch and high pull combo is suicidal, my quads had no energy left after the intervals yesterday and it was because of that that I had to keep the snatch weight down to 40lbs.
Still, after 1 set I felt exhausted, after 2 sets I thought I was wiped out and after 3 sets I was getting the chess set ready for death. When he arrived though he’d brought a pack of cards with him and said the whole chess thing was a popular misconception and poker’s his game. I’m a terrible poker player but thankfully I’m a great cheat so I’m here to fight another day.
 
Iv`e just had a quick read through your thread (sorry if youv`e already answered this) but why did you stop cutting and do a total flip into a 300lb bulk???

And in your next cut what weight are you looking for???

I`m only asking because im looking at a 6 month bulk starting in september to about 230lbs and im worried whether i can carry the weight(5ft9-10)

so how the hell will you manage to carry yours (6ft 2)

I just decided I didn't want to be Mr Average with a 200lb 'Brad Pitt' body, in fact I'm not so bothered about physique at all, I want to be a big stong bastard

It's cigs-1 CCR-1 right now (much like tonights score I bet), I'm not wearing a patch today and still haven't been that tempted to smoke :)

I felt good with the farmers walk, I lasted so long on the first set I started to get a bit bored waiting for grip to fail
 
I've noticed that while training like this I lose a bit of weight during the week even while eating about 5,000 calories a day but over the weekend I can gain massive amount even though I eat far less at weekends (Too busy doing things with family to eat as often). It feels like Mon-Fri is one long training session and the weekend is my rest day

I found all this a little easier today, my pulling has improved a lot since I started eating properly again.

For my own stuff at the end I mixed in some high rep hammer curls with heavy DB shrugs, I really want to get my traps bigger as I've found out it's just about the only muscle that turns my girlfriend on :D
