Weight-Loss WLF Team Challenge - Team SUCCESS!

Weight-Loss
:Lol,I think it was a salmon day..Thats what we had as well.I did get my 3 litres in today and the other half hour of exercise.so thank god, max points on the last day.Hopefully my scale is kind to me and to us all.
Great job Camilla,Omega, and Belinda this week on all the water and exercise.Amazing Amazing AMAZING..The water and exercise I will do better next week. Its so nice you have you guys here ,thank you for the support.

Yay salmon!!!! Woohoo!

Christine - Great job on getting all of your points today! We won't always be perfect getting max points everyday. You are doing great and we all appreciate your effort!

So is the fruits and vegetables THE mini-challenge for sure? I was under the assumption that the person who lost the biggest percentage for the week got to choose the mini-challenge for the next week?

Exercise done for today walked for 1hr and 45 mins, got rained on as well, nearly finished my water I have had one serve of veggies and two serves of fruit for the day whoop on the way for full points

There has to be a one week delay between the biggest loss and the choice as the weigh in on the Saturday for many of us takes place after Saturday a long time after Saturday has already started for people in Australia like Brad...

In fact - by the time all the weighings had been entered and assessed poor Brad would be two days into his week and the rest of us would have spent Saturday wondering what we were supposed to be doing...

We are all on different time zones...

Whoever turns out to have lost the most when all the weighings are in will get to choose for the week starting next Saturday...

I was a bit late in the day reminding San about posting as it is... I was busy and San isnt well...

Brad - Well done! I hope that you managed to get in a second serve of veggies to get the full points - I think that you need two of each for the mini challenge... If you didnt and Saturday was over you from a meals perspective - let me know and I will ask San for a ruling about the late posting for you...

Brad - well done!!!
I've just checked out the scoresheets and notice that you have not only maxed out your points for the week but also lost tons of weight.

March 23rd starting weight:150kg
Goal weight loss: (8kg) lbs = (5.33)%

March 30th: 150
current weight: 147.1
lbs lost: 2.9kg
% lost:
exercise points: 14
water points:21

That's 6.38 pounds that you have lost and an amazing 1.93% that you have lost in a single week.

Just did my weigh-in. I'm up half a pound from yesterday, but down 1.9lbs since the last weigh-in. I'm a bit confused about the veggies and fruits. Does it have to be a certain amount of each, measurement-wise? Do they need to be raw, or can they be cooked (i.e. real mashed potatoes)?

And I'm going to be super busy today. I'm going to get at least 30 minutes of exercise in this morning, but I'll be running all over town today and leaving town completely tonight, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to squeeze in another 30 minutes... The hotel we're going to tonight has an indoor swimming pool so maybe I can squeeze in the other 30 minutes there before the night is over.

Okay, just to clarify - the person who loses the most weight THIS week, will determine the mini challenge NEXT week. Since we only post our results today, and it'll take me a little while to sort them out, we wouldn't get the new mini challenge early enough otherwise.

As for mini challenge this week - a portion to me is one apple, one banana, a side-serving of vegetables, a handful of dried fruit, something like that. Raw or cooked doesn't matter, whichever you prefer.

LOL thanks for clarifying that for us, San. I've already broke out the strawberries and ate 1 cup of grapes before you said that. I didn't realize how many grapes 1 cup is lol

Unfortunately potatoes do not normally count for these challenges...
Other than that vegetables and fruit all count - raw, tinned, frozen, cooked... LOL you can even fry (if being sensible using such as fry light) such as courgette (zuchini) or banana...
As for serving size - we normally go by similar serving sizes to authorities that encourage us for 5-a-day... Here is one such link (produced by the UK National Health Service) as a rough guide...

In all honesty, many of us here have long liked our food and tend towards larger portion sizes... I know that I do... I never bother worrying about portions on this link for such challenges because my portion sizes are very large... For instance I have just had a tin of apricots while writing this... When I have baked beans I have a tin of them... I often pile my plate high with vegetables... the last time I had carrots as part of a casserole there were 175g carrots per person in there... that is 6 ounces... three spoonfuls (like it says on the link) does not come close...

Woohoo great job over the last week, everyone! I weighed in this morning at 153.5!!! That is 2.5 lbs lost or 1.6%! I guess I was retaining water from TOM and that's why the scale wasn't moving!! I am sooo close to 10 pounds now!!!!

Everyone is posting some brilliant losses at the scales... Well done!!! :hurray:

I am afraid that the only positive news from my scales is that I managed to reduce my weight from yesterday's enormous gain so that I only weigh the same as I did last Saturday... I am hoping that I will get further reduction in the next couple of days...

I did however get max points for exercise and water drinking for the week.

I have made a start on points for the new week. I have done my exercise for today. I had a salsa lesson this morning and have done some outdoor walking. I normally have zumba on a Saturday - but the church hall is busy with Easter.

Great job, Omega! And to everyone on the team! We are rocking it!

I completed my points for the mini challenge this morning, and just completed my exercise and water points! I did 4.674 miles which is not my best but I am happy with it for today. I have bad cramps and almost did not go out to exercise at all. So I feel good about it.

Well done Camila for getting that exercise done. You deserve to feel good about it. They say that exercise helps period pains - so I hope that it helped you.

I suspect that you will be interested to read this link

With luck it should make you feel even more good about the work that you have done today.
