Weight-Loss WLF Team Challenge - Team SUCCESS!

Weight-Loss
LOL I am not going to manage to claim the jumping jack points for Saturday (when I forgot to do them)... I have tracked down one of the zumba tracks that I know I did on Saturday morning - but it has only about 17. LOL they are certainly jumping jacks that I do in this track - memorable because you crouch down a bit on the down move and you spin round backwards while doing the string of them...

This is the track that we dance this too - and you can picture us springing up and down like idiots at the end...

FRIDAY..

I had just an off day yesterday :( I had so much stuff to get done around the house (we're gearing up for a massive yard sale two weekends from now) between cleaning and stuff for the yard, that I forgot to do my jumping jacks. I did get all my water in and ate lightly throughout the day without putting anything in the microwave. No weighing. I don't think I managed to get quite a full hour of exercise in yesterday, but I do know I spent over 30 minutes walking my dog.

Today is going to be pretty busy as well. I've already done 30 jumping jacks and plan on doing the rest later--breaking them up makes it easier to manage for me. I don't think I'll have time to dedicate to exercise today, but I'll try my best to get some walking in.

It's just been super stressful this week with my MiL and getting stuff in the house done so I'm glad San dropped the mini-challenges to just one part so it's easier to get done.

Belinda - I can easily understand how you forgot to do them jumping jacks yesterday. I did the same on Saturday. Well done for getting lots of other points though.

I am also glad about the mini challenge being reduced to a single thing to try to remember... My memory is abysmal these days.

It is another max points day for me today as I have done my 55 jumping jacks for today. I remembered to not weigh myself again today. I have really enjoyed the freedom of it... I am not going to want to weigh myself tomorrow... I am feeling better about my project than I have for the past month. The lack of progress at the scales was getting me down. I wore my loose exercise pants for salsa last night - but another of the ladies told me how slim I was looking. I wore my jeans all day today until I changed for my zumba class that started at 6pm.

The salsa teacher's dance partner was ill yesterday - so I had to dance with the teacher. Rod filmed me slowly dancing the move with the teacher at the end and I have to say that I was happier about my body on the film than I have been in absolutely ages... I am obviously not as thin as I want to be - but a whole lot better than I have been recently. It sounds vain - but I have watched the film quite a few times. In comparison - I know that the scales will be very disappointing...

Hey you guys -

Sorry I never stopped back after my last post. I just wanted to thank you for being so understanding. It means more than you know...and I know you all will do amazing in the challenge. :) I'll still be around on the boards, just dealing with some stuff now that is making it difficult. Best wishes to you all.

Camila

See, Omega. While the scales aren't moving, you're still trimming down.

I finished the jumping jacks, but had so much going on today (I had to pick up my sick cousin from school because the nurse couldn't get in touch with his parents or our grandparents so he was at my house for about 4 hours if not more), check on how my MiL is feeling, and then go take pictures of my other cousin and her bf for prom. She was gorgeous. So I missed out on the exercise and some of the water. Otherwise I got all the mini-challenge points. This week was super tough with everything going on at home. I'm ready for it to be over and only have to worry about one thing next week. It was hectic with the three vastly different mini-challenges, water, and exercise points in my thoughts while trying to keep a list of things that I had to get done at the house. I'm ready to get back to enjoying this weightloss challenge.

Camila - I hope that the stuff that you are dealing with improves for you. You are missed and can rejoin us at any time.

Belinda - It sounds like you had an extra challenging day. You have done really well to avoid the convenience of popping a package into the microwave for dinner to remove dinner from your list of tasks.

I got on the scales for the challenge and it was 10st13.2 or 154.2 pounds. Basically, my weight is still stuck. The challenge has been going on for about a month and a half and my weight has gone down by 0.6 pounds over all that time... I might well skip daily weighings for the next week because I find the scale so disheartening...

My only dropped challenge points all week were the jumping jacks for Saturday when I forgot to do them. The annoying thing is that I know that I did at least 17 of them - but cannot specifically remember more than that.

Don't let it get you down, Omega. Do you do body measurements? Maybe doing that will make you feel better when you get frustrated by the scale not moving. Fitbit has a section to record body measurements for the neck, bicep, forearm, chest, waist, hips, thighs, and calf and in the month I've had that utility I've actually seen my forearm and thigh measurements increase :( while everything else has either stayed the same or decreased :) It helps when that scale isn't moving fast enough.

I also weighed this morning: 185.6 I was expecting a lot worse because I feel like I pigged out this week and I've been so busy that I haven't had the time I'd like to fully dedicate to exercise (especially yesterday). And the temptation was there to resort to the microwave, but I stuck to cold sandwiches for myself when in a rush.

Glad to say 'goodbye' to that week and get this new week started. It's wet outside, but I'm sure I can withstand it for 30 minutes.

I used to do measurements every month on my big project for a while - but Rod got sick of helping me do all the measurements... LOL I do not tend to wander around the house nearly naked nearly as often now that we are living with my parents... I guess that I am fine with the lack of scales or measurements now that I can get into my jeans... That is a huge milestone... Now I just want to get into the jeans the next size down and I'll be even happier...

Well done for losing some weight on a week where you know that things were stressful and did not go as well as you hoped. I think that you have done brilliantly to make any progress on such a week. Lots of us would have gained weight. You have also done really well and earned lots and lots of points.

I got my half an hour of walking outside (on the way to and from salsa and zumba)... The weather was nice and we went off to spend the rest of the day with friends that live in a very picturesque village in the middle of the countryside.

LOL We did Amore in zumba today which contains loads of jumping jacks... If we had done it last Saturday we would have certainly not dropped points... Not only is there more than 25 - but I would not be surprised if there is more than the 55 we did yesterday... I need to count the next time I do it at zumba - we do tons more jumping jacks than the people on the you tube clip do...

I saw goonfairy's ruling on what we have to do (or lack thereof) outside and if the weather is bad. I'm going to be honest and say I think it's pretty shitty that there's no alternative to bad weather. It was rainy and in the mid-60's today so obviously I wasn't going to get out in that for 30 minutes. I'd rather be exercising inside and getting points for that than standing out in the cold rain. But whatever. No mini-challenge points for me today. I did a lot of heavy lifting and walking today, so I definitely got the exercise points and water points at least.

5/4: 2 points for exercise, 3 points for water, 0 points for mini-challenge (cold and wet weather all day)
5/5: 2 points for exercise, 3 points for water, 0 points for mini-challenge (wet and even more cold day)
5/6: 2 points for exercise, 3 points for water, 3 points for mini-challenge (FULL POINTS)
5/7: 2 points for exercise, 3 points for water, 3 points for mini-challenge (FULL POINTS)
5/8: 2 points for exercise, 2 points for water, 3 points for mini-challenge (Missed getting the full 3 liters of water)
5/9: 1 point for exercise, 3 points for water, 3 points for mini-challenge
5/10: 2 points for exercise, 3 points for water, 3 points for mini-challenge

Exercise: 13
Water: 20
Mini-Challenge: 15

Its no problem that you missed those points. Hopefully there will be some good weather this week.

I think someone asked for a ruling on what they have to do outside. Also I think someone asked about if it is too bad weather to go outside.

What to do outside: whatever you want to do (go to the store, take a walk, lay there, whatever you want to do).
If the weather is terrible: Dress for terrible weather (sorry)

Thanks for the ruling goonfairy. San and Belinda (who both asked for the ruling) - you can sunbathe and get points!

Got my exercise (1 hr on the bike) and water in just fine today. Again, I won't be getting the mini-challenge points; it was another cold and rainy day--even colder than yesterday. Tomorrow is supposed to be a bit warmer (but not much, 66 degrees for the high) and rainy yet again. I feel like Mother Nature is sabotaging me this week. So ridiculous and discouraging.

I just saw Mands' updated score sheet. She had 0 exercise points and a small amount of mini-challenge points but still lost a respectable amount (almost 3 lbs and 1.51%). I am thoroughly impressed with her. Congrats, Mands!!

Hey Belinda. Tx for the congrats.

That's the beauty of The Cohen's diet. You don't have to exercise to lose weight. I don't know if you know The Cohen's diet but basically its worked out for me according to my serotonin, growth hormone and insulin after they've done a blood analysis.

I have been on 100s of diets but this one is the real deal (for me that is) If you stay on plan the rewards are HUGE!

Unfortunately with wedding season upon us I just don't have time to exercise. Actually if you think about it, my entire job is an exercise - running around to make sure I catch the shot and not miss anything while sweating bullets in this heat and humidity :) We have a 12 hour day of non-stop activity.

With the weather that warmed up a bit since last week I've managed to hit the pool twice already. I LOVE swimming! Swimming is my exercise preference, I used to be on the swim team at school and I kicked butt :) LOL! So hopefully when I do have a spare minute I can get more exercise in.

You all are doing fantastic and although I don't update here everyday I do catch up with all the chatting now and again.

Keep it up and lets drop that weight!

Wow, full points for once. I spent a lot of time outside doing yardwork (weedeating, and spreading grass seed and weed n feed). Lots of walking and lifting today. I'm hoping my new lawnmower arrives tomorrow like it should; the old one can't be revived :( and get full points again tomorrow while mowing the yard.

Belinda and Mands - you are both doing great.

Mands - I would imagine that spending 30 minutes of the day outdoors is no problem in Cyprus. I know that it certainly is the way my friends live in Greece at this time of year. It is brilliant that the weight is dropping off for you.

Belinda - I hope that mother nature does stop sabotaging you - not so much for the challenge points but we would all prefer to be getting some decent weather...

We are very fortunate in England this week - we are actually getting some nice weather for a change... The year has been hopeless so far - but I have to say that the weather is actually pleasant this week - extra nice since yesterday was a bank holiday. We even went out walking yesterday with a sweatshirt but no jacket on...

I am on maximum points for the week so far... Plenty of exercise (at least half an hour of which is outside) plus 3 litres of water every day. I havent weighed myself since Saturday - I'm giving up on daily weighing as it is depressing...

Yesterday we went on a little safari and walked on the beach, climbed sooo many stairs thought my legs were gonna collapse :)

It was stunningly hot yesterday, I tanned for a while and then swam a few lapse and did my water aerobics. LOVING SUMMER!!!

Mands - I am so very jealous. If I had a choice in things - I would be enjoying Greek weather too...
