Weight-Loss WLF Team Challenge Team CRUISIN' FOR LOSIN'

Weight-Loss
Great job, Tasha! I really believe the tide will turn and the weight will start dropping off soon.

I'm still going to exercise more tonight, but I am done for the day with full points. Fruits & Veg are good, water is done, and I've already done lawn work (90 minutes) and a 30' Cardio Yoga DVD.

Keep it up, team! We're doing a great job!

Bundybrad has come up with a new mini challenge for us. It's 15 sit-ups per day for 2 points per day, and 'drink no calories' for 1 point per day. :)

Um, what qualifies as a sit-up?

Because of my size and overall condition, I can't do a traditional sit-up... or even a non-traditional sit-up for that matter. I can do a crunch, of sorts....

I'd really hate to be a deficit to my team for all those lost points.

This is a decision that I am making without checking back with the person who set the challenge - if you aren't physically able to do a sit-up, do a different exercise that will challenge you. I know that we have people with various health problems, and I do not want anybody to feel as if they letting their team down because they simply aren't able to do the exercise required. Which isn't fair. So...if you can't do the sit-ups, do something else that you are able to do. Try to stay as close to the original exercise as possible (for example, when I asked in the other challenge for people to do push-ups, I accepted anything from 'traditional' push-ups to wall push-ups, and everything in between), but don't attempt to do something that might injure or hurt you. This is supposed to be fun after all, not torture. :)

OK, San. Thanks for getting back to me. My biggest concern is that at my size (large upper body) and the fact that I had a back injury many years ago, I'm taking too big a chance trying to get my shoulders off the floor. I can do a lying knee raise, though, so I'll do those. Here's a video showing the technique I'll use:

I can do the first type pretty easily, and can do the 2nd type with some success.

How about freshly juiced vegetable (i.e. liquid veggie)? It has calories - but it's not exactly soda or alcohol!
Last challenge we did I was allowed to have it as a "meal replacement" - what is the deal this time?
Thanks

PS/ Sorry guys, I am having champagne this week - anniversary <3 :beating: - been looking forward to this for weeks now.

I asked for clarification, but haven't heard anything back yet. As soon as I know, I'll pass the info on. :)

And hey...it's one point! Enjoy your champagne, and have a wonderful anniversary! :)

I totally understand, and after a recent scare with a back injury I still have to be pretty careful with some exercises myself. The exercise you chose looks perfectly fine, and I actually quite like the videos, very useful exercises with different variations. I subscribed to the guy. :)

Thanks San :D

oK: got vegetables, fruits & water in today.
Sorry no exercise - not feeling too well - i hope i can get my exercise in tomorrow!

Thank you, San!

OK, I got full points today ONLY because I did a 1 hr yoga workout from 11pm to midnight! I must be crazy. I'm going to bed now... after I towel off.

I received clarification from Bundybrad about the challenge:

Soups count as food, not drink, so that's no problem. Juiced fruit and vegetables are okay if they're freshly juiced, not store-bought ones. Milk in tea or coffee DOES count, so if you do that, no points. Also, no low calorie drinks or flavoured water, just plain.

As mentioned on another thread, I will unfortunately be 7 points down for next week, since I cannot adhere to the 'plain water only' part of the challenge. I cannot physically drink plain water - I get sick when I try. I did try, time and time again, and even demonstrated it to several doctors. I cannot take a glass of plain water and try to drink it. :ack2: Heck knows why. Since all other drinks contain calories, however little, that means no points for me. I apologise to the team in advance, and promise I will make up for it somehow!

Hey San - have you tired lemon water? OR squeezing orange in the water?
I love the lemon in the water - so refreshing - it might be an option for you - to flavor the water!

Yupp, and I drink it like that more often than not, but orange and lemon have calories, so for the challenge, that won't work. In general, I love my water with some lemon juice though! :)

That's good then San :)
You might start to like water in a few years - you never know..our taste buds change all the time.
Like I hated celery a few years ago - now I eat it on a daily basis! :)

All righty full points for fruit and veg!
Full points for water, and I am about to go to the gym - even though i don't feel like it.

Happy weigh in tomorrow everyone!!!
:hurray:

Hey San - Sorry to thread crash...but by your logic, freshly squeeze fruit and veggie juice is okay for the challenge, so why how is squeezing lemon or orange into your water any different, so long as they are fresh? ;)

Not that I am trying to get you guys any extra points or anything...haha kidding! :)

Edit: But also because I love lemon in my water!

HAHA! You are right Camila!! I think you should be able to have lemon water!!!

Just back from the gym - walked on the outside track for an hour!! So cold now - 56F...(14c) - but it felt good!!

Weigh in..I am down 1 whole pound - oh well, a loss is a loss.

Here is the copy of my score sheet - almost full house on the points - missing one day of exercising:

April 6th:
current weight:254.5 lbs
lbs lost: 1
% lost: 0.39% (total:1.55%)
exercise points:12
water points: 21
mini-challenge points: 5px7times = 35

Lost one pound. I'm happy with that, considering my struggles the last few weeks. I got all of my points, except for 4 exercise points.
