Weight-Loss WL competition TEAM GOLD

Weight-Loss
Hi guys,

just checking in. Not doing all that well. Was so tired that I missed exercise, there goes my getting all 14 pts this week. Went over board with the food, ate actually about 1900 calories today. I am so upset about this.

I am trying to console myself by stating that I ate under 1200 yesterday and I had already burned over 2000 calories in exercise yesterday, probably why I was so broken up this morning and unable to do exercise.

I couldn't help myself, I really didn't want dinner but I had to eat something as I get headaches..... has anyone figured out yet how to stop headaches you get from not eating, I mean they are annoying, and the funny thing is, just as I eat, or finish eating they stop. And they are not satisfied with a cracker and some juice, tried that, I don't have to eat a whole plate full of food, but it has to be something,.... probably will have to just go back to my smoothies.

Ah well tomorrow is another day, and I will get at least 10 exercise points this week.... gotta do better next week...until next time:seeya:

I just found the mini challenge for the week - sorry guys, I'm a little slow this week! Luckily this is something I do everyday after my kids fall asleep so I think I am good to go! I will update my chart asap!
Could I trouble one of you to post the mini challenge in this thread? I can't seem to find them easily on the other one. :blush:

Sorry for going missing again. Will update my scoresheet in a second. I flunked on the mini-challenge - I simply have no time to sit and breathe, and nothing but. It feels like a complete waste of time to me (I know it isn't, but that doesn't help), and it's time in which I could do a hundred other things. So I totally struggled with that. And no weight loss for me last week. Most likely none this week either - food has become my enemy yet again. That, and a new type of painkiller I've been put on, which seems to mess with my system good style. :(

Off to update my score, and apologies for the delay.

Thanks for updating your scoresheet.
I think that you have put the mini challenge points for this week against last week by accident.

With that in mind it might be worth you checking that your exercise is against the right week. With your back injury - any exercise points we get from you are a total bonus. Well done for earning a lot of points.

Last week (weigh date 15th) there was no mini challenge - so just exercise points available...

This week (weigh date tomorrow 22nd) there is the meditation mini challenge... I must admit that I missed Saturday on that... It was a really hard one for me to remember never mind find the time to do it...

I'm sorry about the painkillers working against you. You have to give that back injury your top priority.

Tell the food that you are stronger than it is... Food is your enemy - and you are going to win this battle and make your weight loss dreams come true. You can do this.

Hi guys, I'm sorry that the mini I picked was a bit difficult for a few of you.

As I stated, it was going to be very easy to accomplish but hard to do. We spend so much of our times micro-managing, multi-tasking, that we forget to sometimes take the time out to just relax, breathe and clear our minds.

I know sometimes that life gets so hectic that I forget about taking out time for me, in that I can remember to exercise, diet, do my work, chores around the house, listening companion to friends, family, co-workers and foes alike, but I forget sometimes to take out a breath for me.

It helps to settle me, and clear my mind, I just wanted to pass it on. Although I have to give fair warning in advance. If I am a biggest loser again for another week, I will probably choose another mini-challenge in the same vein. Not the breathe and relax for 10 minutes straight, but something along those lines. So be forewarned:biggrinjester:

Reposting the new challenge from the main thread:

Hmm, hopefully this isn't against any unwritten rules! :D

Thought I'd try something different this week! The mini-challenge is....

Many Mini Challenges! bwahahaha! :reddevil:

So for this week, a total of 10 points can be earnt (No more!) No specific days per challenge.

1 point for trying a new fruit/veg you've never had before (4 items - 4 points total)
2 points for writing up a whole days food log into your relevant teams thread (2 days - 4 points total)
3 points for replacing your two daily drive/cycle to XYZ location with a nice walk (2 times - 6 points total)
4 points for uploading a picture of yourself at your heighest weight, and current weights (Obviously can obscure faces etc if you want) (1 set - 4 points total)

Hopefully that makes sense, and no-one is currently wanting to kill me! :D

As an example, Mr Bob eats 3 new fruits, walks twice to work, and and uploads a picture, and gets 10 points! (3+3+4).

Feel free to mix/match as you want, any 10 points worth is usable :) And it doesn't need to be huge items, not asking anyone to replace a 40mile drive with walking etc lol :D Just trying to get threads a bit more active! *pokes Platinum/Victory*

325.4 today -5.7% for the contest I got all my mini challenge points, but I missed 3 days of exercise. nice work team GOLD!

Hi guys, just updated my stats.

Went on the scale this morning and I am at 269.4 yippee:sifone: which means about a 6 pound weight loss from last week. But last week when I weighed in, I had put on weight, so do I go by the week before that, or still use last week. If I use last week which I believe was partially water weight, then I lost 6, but if I excuse last week and use the week before that, then its a 3.8 lost, either way, its a loss, and I am Happy.....

Now to find a fruit or vegetable I have not eaten before, I guess its down to the fresh market I go.:auto:

Ii've had a couple of mad bad days, I completely forgot to weighing on Friday, so I'll use a weight from earlier in the week. The latest challenge looks cool.

Looks like some good weeks out there, well done team.

The fruit and veggie challenge could be a challenge for me (hehehe!). I am going to look for some pictures. Not sure if I have any from my heaviest. I did try to get into photos then.

Hi guys, just checking in again.

I got my points for replacing daily activity today with a walk. And boy was I tempted to catch the bus at one point, but I didn't, not to say that I was not tempted.

But today showed me one thing, I am seriously still out of shape, and I have to change my diet. Logging everything down is so so disheartening. When I eat the food, I look on my plate and don't see much, when I sit in front of the computer and log it all down and add up the calories its shocking.

So here's to the 2 points for today's logging, I am so ashamed, must do better...

Breakfast

Keeblers Multigrain Club Crackers
Tropicana - 100% Orange Juice
Tuna Salad, 1/2 cup
Generic - Cheese Salad Wrap, 1 bar
Fresh Fruit Salad--Watermelon, Cantelope, Green Grapes and Strawberry Slices,
Tossed Green Salad,

Lunch

Blueberry Bagel
Grape Jelly
Cream Cheese

Dinner

Cheese Salad
Tuna Salad
Keeblers Multigrain Club Crackers
Ocean Spray - 100% Cranberry Juice No Sugar Added

2 points for writing up a whole days food log into your relevant teams thread

Today I had:

B: Ezekiel bread toasted (2) & cherry jam + latte with 1% milk
S: 1 Banana
L: Grilled chicken salad with spinach and radicchio & apricot :D
View attachment 20004
S: One person banana bread (in ramekin) with nuts and shredded coconut & almond butter
View attachment 20005
D: Veggie juice (carrot, lemon, orange, beetroot, ginger, cucumber, celery, beetroot leaves)

E: Walking 1.5 hours

I am claiming challenge points for logging food too...

My lifestyle means that I eat at non-standard times...
This is the food I ate Friday

500g Total 0% Greek yoghurt
500g Morrisons low fat Greek yoghurt
2 tins apricots in fruit juice
200g blueberries
2 chicken breast steaks
1 tin baked beans
44g sugar free sweets
2 litres water

calories = 1875
protein = 141g
calcium = 2217
fibre = 31.2
sodium = 2547 - high - ideally no more than 2300

Saturday

250g Total 0% Greek yoghurt
500g Morrisons low fat Greek yoghurt
2 tins apricots in fruit juice
188g blueberries
3 lean pork loin steaks (330g)
1 tin baked beans
1 dash chilli garlic sauce
44g sugar free sweets
3 litres water

calories = 1748
protein = 145.5g
calcium = 1743
fibre = 27.7
sodium = 1585

it may sound weird to have so much fruit and yoghurt but it gives amazing stats for good health

both these calorie levels give me a good deficit

1 point for trying a new fruit/veg you've never had before

It is hard for me to find anything a) never had before b) available here where I live...

So...I bought a persimmon the other day & I had it today. It was pretty good actually.
It looks like a tomato & even the texture is similar, but not the taste. It's sweet.
(I might have had this before when I was in SW Asia like 15 years ago...not sure - I certainly don't remember - I just remember that our guide was telling about it.)
Here is a pic:

There, another point :D

Ok, I just learned that extra exercise (20 mins) can replace this challenge:

3 points for replacing your two daily drive/cycle to XYZ location with a nice walk (2 times - 6 points total)

& i did extra 30 mins :) so another 3 points!!!! :p

I got 6 points so far.

I was too busy rushing before I went out when I made the above posting. I have now had a chance to read through the thread.

I see that there have been some great updates from other team members.

GOLD team is still doing brilliantly. I really am very proud of us all. We have all stuck with the challenge and earned lots and lots of points... The other teams will have a major battle on their hands to try to come close. Lets face it - they will have to work very hard with the exercise and mini challenges and get amazingly good weight loss to beat our team.

I cannot help but notice that we are the only team that hasnt lost any members. Every member of GOLD has stayed with the challenge and still working as hard as possible.

Quercus - well done for getting all those mini challenge points

Transparent - 6 pounds is a fantastic weight loss for last week. Congratulations!!! :hurray: Well done on getting all that extra walking done for those mini bonus points.

Anna - it certainly sounds like you have been busy. Using the alternative weighing sounds a good plan. I would do the same in your shoes.

Justina - all your food posts always just like a very tempting cookery book... You are a real gourmet... I never put anything like the amount of effort into meals that you put into things... I dont know whether you ever chatted to my pal Kara (KaraCooks here) - you would get on like a house on fire you are so similar in that respect... Well done on getting 6 points so far.

Well done!

LOL I have looked at my pedometer for Friday and Saturday and I havent done any extra steps compared to Friday and Saturday last week...
Yesterday: 20,477 steps
Friday: 19,569 steps

They are actually slightly less than I did on the equivalent days last week... I am full of cold and havent the energy to do much more than the level that I am doing. I will be pleased if I get up to the 15,000 steps that I shoot for as a minimum level today...

Hopefully I will get some better steps done tomorrow... Fingers crossed!
