Great news on the house Jenni. I'm actually getting excited about this - I'm wanting to see foundation details and everything lol :)

Happy Hump! :D

Wooot! I slept in until 8 a.m. this morning. I can't remember the last time I slept in that long ....

Yesterday went pretty well. I did not make it to the mall, but still managed to rack up about 9K steps. Met my girlfriend at 4 pm and didn't get home until after 9 pm, so that was fun! We ate at the restaurant where my daughter works. Dinner was broiled chicken, rice, broccoli, and fruit. My girlfriend has recently lost over 60 lbs, so she's an excellent influence on me when we go out to eat.

Today is weigh in day!!!
Starting weight: 198. 6
Today's weight: 195.4
Total loss: 3.2 lbs

I'm pretty happy with this. I know from previous experience that I always gain about 3 lbs instantly when I start weight training again. My muscles just hold more water. So, I'm very happy with 3 lbs. If I can keep it at 1-2 lbs a week until January - I will be utterly thrilled.

11/22/17

Daily Plan

Gym
Mall
Clean livingroom
Long walk with dog
Under 1500

Popcorn > Chips. You could have had a worse snack, so no worries there.
Congrats on another step forward with the house!

Speaking of the mall, I've rocked out some of my highest step counts there. Just sayin'. ;)
Have an amazing day! I'm looking forward to hearing how it turned out for you!

Very true about chips and popcorn (although I'd like to eliminate these salty snacks altogether). I did not make it to the mall - trying again today! :) Hope your days is awesome as well!!!

Haha! Love it. I will share pics of every little step - no worries! The entire project is my baby, my husband is too busy with work. So I am having to learn many new things about construction. I have already been given the inside scoop on the guy who is contracted to clear the lot - apparently he will cut down every last tree unless I'm there to make him stop! So I have to go get some brightly colored tape and mark on the lot where I want him to put the saws away, lmao.

Isn´t it so much easier to spend time with people who want to be healthy as well? It´s so annoying/exhausting when you feel like you have to defend your healthy choices all the time!

And stand in front of that every minute he´s there. My parents built tore down and rebuilt their entire house a couple of years ago and even with constant diligence they nearly lost a monumental walnut tree.

Woop woop! Fantastic news Jenni, well done :)

Make sure the construction people know what trees have been removed. It could have a bearing on the foundations. I only know what goes on over on my side of the pond so it could be different where you are with different soils, trees, climate and methods of construction, but over here if its a clay soil the ground will likely heave upwards as it fills with water once the thirsty trees have gone.

Today is that fairytale holiday we call Thanksgiving. Fairytale because the story of it is a bit of a farce. At any rate it is nice to gather with friends and family and share a meal. We will be going to friends. I will not be counting calories!

Yesterday went well. Calories came in below 1550. I went to the gym!

Elliptical - 10 min warm up
Clamshell - 20
Leg lifts - 20
Hip rotation - 20
Bridges - 20
Box squats - 3 x 10 (+1 rep)
Lateral band walks - 20-15-10
Straight leg Deadlifts - 3 x10 (30 lbs)
Hip abduction machine - 3 x 20 (30 lbs)
Seated leg curls - 3 x 10 (30 lbs)

Stair climber - 5 mins L3, 1 min L4 (+1 min)

The bank called while at the gym. We are good to go on our construction loan! Kinda bad news - plans appraised 10K below house price. This is not unusual for our area, though, which was hit hard by 2008 and is kinda rural. Anyway, called the builder and we are on the list to get our lot cleared. Should be happening in 3 weeks time. Yay!! :D

Yes, definitely easier to have a friend who gets it and encourages me! Oh I will most definitely be on site for the tree clearing. You know how some hairdressers are called scissor happy? Apparently this guy is chainsaw happy. :smilielol5:

Thank you, Stan! Wow, there really is so much to know in the building process. I live in the south - not the deep south, but pretty close. Our soil is clayish, for sure. It's red in color. Our builder has built a home in this neighborhood and has two more homes he is building down the street right now, that is one reason I chose him - because he's familiar with the neighborhood. Most of the trees on the lot are these tall, skinny pines. There isn't a sugar maple or even an oak. It is also a lake community, although we are not on the lake. The lake is across the street. We'll be clearing the lot in the next few weeks and I'll be posting my first pics. It's getting close to game time! :D

So, yesterday I gave a big fat Thanks and ate entirely too much for Thanksgiving. The one positive is that I walked 2 hours on my treadmill desk station and took the dog for a walk at the park. I am on the treadmill as I type this! I don't go fast, like 1 - 1.5 mph, but it adds up if I'm on it for a few hours.

Having said that, I will be making some adjustments to my calorie intake this week. I'll be going for 1300 cals a day instead of 1500 for the rest of this week, which ends Wed. That way I can make up a bit for the holiday splurge.

One good thing is that I had a great workout this morning at the gym. I focused on chest and triceps with a bit of cardio ...

Elliptical - 10 min warm up
Pectoral machine - 2 x 20 (15 lbs)
Bench press - 3 x 10 (45 lbs)
Dumbbell flys - 3 x 10 (8 lbs)
Cbl Flys - 3 x 10 (20 lbs)
Cbl Tricep Ext - 3 x 10 (30, 45, 60)
Kickbacks - 3 x 10 (10 lbs)
Cbl OH Ext - 3 x 10

Stairmill - 10 min L3, L4
Bike - 5 min

Still plan on taking my dog to the park. I love, love my dog. She's the best! Here is a pic of her ...

Also meeting the girlfriend for some Black Friday shopping. Hopefully, rack up a few more steps!

Happy Thanksgiving, Jenni!
Enjoy the day and the great company.

Nice work at the gym yesterday, and congratulations on the loan! :)

Thanks, Liz! It was a good day, and fun, but very bad for diet, lmao.

How exciting Jen! I'm looking forward to photos too :D

Thanks, cate! I just wish they could start sooner, like now!

I wish my little dog was still up for walks. She's decided she's too old for them! Have a great weekend Jen xo

Bless her Jenni, she is a cutie x

I know that feeling Cate; last time I took my dog on a proper walk we got overtaken by a toddler who could only stay upright thanks to the reins he was in  I leave her behind now lol

Thanks yall for the puppy love! :beating:

Today hasn't been too bad, although I went abit off track at lunch and had some leftovers. I'm thinking ... 800 cals? So for dinner I'm doing salad and fruit. I did get to the gym. Focused on shoulders and biceps.

Elliptical - 10 min warm up

Delt machine - 3 x 10 (15 lbs)
Mil Press - 3 x 10 (20 lbs)
Decline DB press - 3 x 10 (10's)
Lateral raise - 3 x 10 (5 lbs)
Incline curls 3 x 10 ( 10 lbs)
Cbl curls 3 x 10 (15 lbs)
Hammer curls - 3 x 10 (10 lbs)

Stair mill - 10 min L3, L4

That's about it for me. Nothing exciting.

Happy Monday! :D

Today I completed my 8th workout and 2nd week back at the gym! Wed I start week 3. I'm super happy about this.

Focus was on back ...

Elliptical 10 min warm up

Back extensions 3 x 8
Cbl rows 3 x 10 (40 lbs)
Db rows 3 x 10 (10 lbs)
Pulldowns 3 x 10 (40 lbs)

Stairmill 10 mins L3 & 4
Stationary bike - 5 mins

The stairmill is getting much easier. Today I was tempted to do 15 mins, but I really need to stick to the plan and increase gradually. This week I'll add a few minutes and maybe by next Monday I'll be at 15. All depends on how it goes with 12 mins.

Eating a healthy dinner of baked chicken breast, rice, and veggies. Yesterday didn't do so great on food, but it's a marathon, not a sprint, so I'm not beating myself up over it, either. What good would it do anyway?

Looks like a good day to me Jen :D

Indeed! Thanks, cate!

Stuff happens. Then you have one or two lighter meals to make up for it and continue on your merry way. Well done.

Agree! :D

Well, yesterday was interesting. It kinda went like this ...

Car = Smashed

Guy pulled out in front of me - I was going about 45 mph. If I had been going any faster it could have been bad. But I'm fine. Thank God. The guy is fine too. My car is not so fine. Last night I ate cake and ice cream. I know it was a way to deal with the stress of the accident.

Good news? Went to the gym today! Leg Day, yay!

Elliptical - 10 in warm up

Sitting leg lifts x 20
Clamshells x 20
Hip rotation x 20
Leg lifts x 20
Bridge x 20

Box squats - 3 x 10 bodyweight
Lateral Band walks 3 x 20
Strt leg Deads 3 x 10 (30 lbs)
Hip abduction machine - 3 x 20 (40 lbs )
Leg curl machine - 3 x 20 (30 lbs)

Stair mill 11 mins L3 & L4

I pretty much killed it on legs, maxing out at 20 reps on 3/5 exercises. This means I'll increase weight on those next week. The box squats were also VERY easy. I'm happy about that because they were pretty challenging last week and this week I did an extra rep each set and felt like I could have done much more. I'm confident I will be ready for real squats by Jan 1st. Not that these are fake, but I'll be ready for squats with an Olympic bar. Only did 11 minutes on stair mill because by that point, I was getting tired. My heart rate got up to 180 on the stair mill after 3 mins on L4.

My hubby has been in Utah for work this week, but he'll be home tonight and I'm glad. I miss him! :beating:

-----------------------------------------------------------

Oh, girl. Where were you when I needed to hear this? Hahaha. I'm glad you're doing so awesome! I hope your Tuesday is as excellent as your Monday was! Go Week Three! :hurray:

Hey, I'm still alive, so I guess that is pretty excellent! :D

Anyone else hearing this while reading that...? o_O:rofl:

You're doing great Jenni, keep it up :):):)

:smash::smash::smash:

:smilielol5:

Thanks, Stan!
