One of the things in this great adventure that I am on is to see what affects weight loss/gain. I find that I'm highly situational for weight gain and depression. I may do a diary post in more detail. My dad died the middle of January and I put on some weight during that time. I also had heavy stress from my "brothers". Summertime saw the biggest gains. it makes sense though. I am highly susceptible to water weight gain. I went from drinking 30-40 oz of water in the winter to a 100+ plus most days during the summer. It was the 3rd hottest summer on record and the 4th driest.

Lost of things happened this year, mostly not good, but ended on a good note, apart from the electrical fire on the last day of the year lol.

2 days without binge

Seems at least some of it was water, I feel a bit better being back into the 180s.
No clue as to why this is slowly climbing.
I definitely am not overeating.
In the short run that is not unusual, weighing every day has taught me that. How many calories are you eating in a day? Do you know if you are in a calorie deficit? If I don't count calories I know I always eat more, and don't always feel like I am.

Good summary! And ending with 4 pounds down in December is not a bad thing, a good way to start the New Year.

You should try counting calories, I always do better when I do, even when I am bingeing.

Good post and I can relate to alot of that. I put on about 10 lbs Jan 1st 2023 to Jan 1st 2024. It's looking after my dog and knowing he'll be gone soon is what's stressing me right now. I'm up in the night with him as his dementia has altered his sleeping and toilet patterns, once awake I sometimes can't get back to sleep so have a carb/cal heavy meal which helps me sleep. Plus I often eat lots in the evening to help get to sleep in the 1st place. Very bad pattern really.
