Starting week 8 of working out. It's been going pretty good. I do Mon-Wed-Fri and haven't missed a day yet. I'm almost up to max reps and then I'll be adding more weight after that. I'm pretty pleased with that. I'm starting to get my steps back up, but it is sooo cold. At least to me. I need to find some better clothes for this winter. I'm not looking forward to freezing again for six months.

Up 1.5 for the month which doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. I didn't miss a workout. I increased reps per exercise by double and added a few more. I started walking more consistently. Still dealing with stressful issues, hernia, etc. I'll take it and see this as progress.

On a side note, I did inches the other day and I'm the same inches as if I weighed 15 pounds less. So weigh more look thinner. My sister dropped 15 pounds and 20 inches in the same time period.

No, not a bad thing at all. A few pounds one way or the other are meaningless, its the longer term trend that maters.

Probably the reason you have not lost weight, starting exercise always seems to add some water weight. For me it does.
Still dealing with stressful issues, hernia, etc.
Do you need hernia surgery? I had it a couple of years ago, really helped me.

That is good progress, probably better than actually losing weight.

Apologies for not checking in for a few days, i've been engrossed in this project i'm doing (a VR 'game') and haven't bothered weighing myself for several days now so nothing to post. My diet hasn't been great, i'll definitely weigh in tomorrow for the start of the new month.

Not many steps yesterday. It was light rain all day. In the shoes I have, I've slipped several times so now afraid to walk on wet roads lol.

One thing I really, really hate. I've been working out for a while now and working on my posture. It's always been bad and I have the dowager's hump. Well, my posture is getting better, but I'm having a lot of neck spasm (which makes sense), but the spasms make me feel really funny until they go away. Ugh, I hate those. Makes me feel all kinds of weird.

Thanks, yes i'm enjoying it, learning alot although i really shouldn't maybe be using chatgpt so much to help me. Any problem i have i ask it and 9/10 times it helps out. Such a wonderful tool to aid development but has made me less likely to actually research and learn a topic myself. Still, wish it'd been around years ago.

Several years ago i played Minecraft online and i liked it. The only negative for me is the graphics, i'm a sucker for good graphics in a game. I've been playing a game called 7 days to die recently which (i think) has some similarities to Minecraft; you can build/craft etc and you can use any resources you can find, it has zombies in it which go crazy at night so you have to build a base etc. The graphics are pretty good.

Working out. I have a dilemma. I'm doing about 35 different exercises at 12 reps a piece. I started out at 2 reps and built up week by week. I was going to go up to 16 reps, but I'm finding out I just don 't want to. it's not that I can't. I did before, but I get bored or feel like it is taking too long and not worth it. 12 seems like a good number. Is it necessary for me to go up? At what point is too much?

I did look it up yesterday and found this, "If your objective is strength or power (think: heavy lifting), the textbook advice is to perform 3 to 5 sets of 2 to 6 reps per exercise. For hypertrophy (building muscle), the sweet spot is 3 to 4 sets of 6 to 12 reps. And if your objective is muscular endurance, shoot for 2 to 3 sets of 12 to 20 reps."

I don't want to go heavy weights due to the hernia. I plan on going up a little more on resistance as well as hand weights. 12 sounds find to me though. what do you think?
