Weigh Yourself Everyday (or frequently) Club

I think its probably more than that in my experience binges cause great water retention. More carbs to soak up water. I have noticed that after a binge I urinate less for a day or two. Anyway the good news is it's over and you can move on. If you do most of that water weight will go as well.

Oh, and I think you are a brave man to weigh and post right after a binge like that. I have a hard time weighing or posting when I am where you are right now. I am trying, its been my experience that the posting helps stop the binge cycle and sometimes reduce the volume of a binge.
Thankyou, I feel better for posting about it. It's rare these days that I eat like that, I can't remember the last time I did so.

That's progress, fewer and lighter binges are better. And I think posting helps. No binges is of course the ultimate goal, and one both of us and others should try to achieve. But if we don't limiting binges is a kind of second best, and not one to be discounted.

Looks like some of that water weight is already coming off!

Good news!

Yes it's coming off now, would be great for it to continue into actual fat loss. Still aiming to be under 227 lbs for my doctors appointment on the Dec 11th.

Completed week 5 of working out. I've gone from 2 reps x 30 exercises to 10 reps x 30 exercises, so I'm gradually going up in reps and weight. I'm going to peek about 16 reps and add more weight when I can. I haven't been walking as much so getting some leg swelling again although not nearly as bad as before. It's been raining and my back is still bugging me especially on days after working out. I did walk yesterday, but forgot my phone. Still, I probably topped out about 3000. I'm not eating horrible, horrible based upon what we can afford, but I'm not doing very good on tracking calories. I need to do a better job and see if I can't drop 10 pounds. I know I'd feel better, at least in theory.

Good to see you back, and it sounds like your workouts are going very well!

Not eating "horrible" isn't a bad thing. I find calorie counting helps, using one of the apps like MyFitnessPal.com really helps me do it. Makes it easier. Lose some weight and I am sure you'll feel better.

I'm doing well in the day, it's the early evening onwards i've been messing up. I do think it'll come good for me, i'm quite an optimistic person regarding most things, diet/weightloss included. Most days I think this will be the start of a good run of dieting days, today is no different.

Another instance where the scales make no sense. I have been retaining water. I've also heard that when weight lifting and gaining muscle that your muscles tend to swell with water and after a time it releases that water. I ate reasonable yesterday and went to the bathroom about 30 times. But yet, scales show up this morning. Go figure. It never makes sense to me.

How many calories are you eating? Do you know?

You are right about the water retention and exercise, weight lifting. In my experience the water release from that takes time and is slow. It is also my experience that calories in is more important than exercise when it comes to weight gain or loss.

Yesterday was about 1800. Maybe, not the greatest diet wise, but most certainly nothing over the top like 3000-4000.

Keep that and the exercise up and you will lose weight, even if it's slowly.
