Still dropping! I can't "Weight" to get to my 180's. Seems like a dream.
 
A small increase after five straight days of decreasing is inevitable and nothing to worry about I would think.
Quite right Ben. I did have a cheat meal yesterday evening so i put it down to that. But today and the next several days will be good diet & exercise wise, i'm confident of that.

Me losing weight over these past 4.5 months has given me the confidence to attend something i really should attend, a good friends dads funeral. Had it been when i was 300lbs i wouldn't have went but now i'm 232 i feel better and i'm going to attend (it's next tuesday).

Small increase but not concerned, diet was good yesterday. It seems for me when i deviate from my planned diet it effects the scales for atleast a couple of days.

Well said! And yeah, I'm totally with you. I was in a similar situation in August 2021. My best friend from high school's dad died. I'd like to think I would have gone at 280ish pounds, but it was 7 hours away. It would have been a factor in the decision, no doubt. But being 210ish at the time made it a lot easier to go.

From the 280's to the 180's does your thinking change? Is it a mental adjustment going from "big" to much smaller?

Hmmm...interesting question. Off the top of my head, I don't think I'm a particularly different person, though I suppose I have more self-confidence. (I mean, once you've conquered THAT much weight, you feel like you can conquer other stuff.) A big thing for me is exercise. I *LIKE* running and I *LIKE* lifting. They're probably much more enjoyable now that I can do them decently.

This is where it doesn't make sense. I did about the same yesterday as any other, yet it shows I'm up 2 lbs. Doesn't make any kind of sense whatsoever. This is the part that is discouraging for me. I haven't been in my 230's in a long time and want to desperately.

Edit: Okay, makes more sense now. 1) The scales move every day. We put them on the floor and then put them back up again. So they don't stay in the same place. 2) The floor is uneven so we use a board. Slight differences make big results sometimes. 3) I made a trip to the restroom. I guess this time, it decided to weigh something. Anyway. It was about 243.7 again. I'll take that.

I find mine by continually creating goals, and it sure helps when those goals are more easily reached by staying on track with nutrition. ;) For example, when I was around your weight, my goal was probably somewhere around "run two 12-minute miles," and then whenever I got to that goal I would bump it up to "two and a half miles at an 11:30 pace" or something like that. As a data/numbers-driven person, that has worked really well for me...and it caused me to realize pretty quickly that I could meet the next goal a lot faster if I was eating properly. ;)

Oh yeah, all three of those things matter.
 
Down around 2.5 pounds the first week of the calorie increase. That's a bit faster than I want to lose at this point. I based the calorie increase an average weight loss over several weeks...BUT I had multiple days during that time where I ate probably 1000 or more calories over the goal, and this week I was on target every day, so I guess it's not that surprising that I'd still be losing a bit faster than the 1%-a-week max that I'd prefer. If it doesn't slow down, I'll increase a bit more a week from today.

Not sure why I am up .6, diet was good yesterday and I exercised. Just one of those things I guess.
 
One regret in my journey is that I didn't start lifting until I was down around 210-215 or so, and as a result, I'm sure I lost a lot of muscle mass with the fat I shed.
This is a fear I have (losing fat AND muscle). I started exercise at around 285 but have been inconsistent since then. I need to set some goals.

Up 2 lbs. Wasn't from eating. It only shows 11 mins of exercise, but I house cleaned for about 2 hours which I don't count. It's definitely water weight.
 
Fairly big one-day scale drop this morning. Not only did I increase calories, but I changed the distribution to eat more in the 24 hours before and after my Saturday morning long run. So I Sunday and Monday I ate 450 fewer calories per day than Friday and Saturday. Maybe my body is confused. 😂
