Trying something a little different, tracking wise. 1) Calories, shooting for 1750 for at least several weeks until I can see how it is working and then make adjustments if needed. Going to try and vary each day also as my body adjust to the same old thing. 2) Tracking liquid. It is so hot. I used to only drink about 30-40 a day and now it's more like 90-130 so the potential of retaining water is much greater depending on how much I sweat. 3) Minutes Exercise - this only includes targeted times of exercise. For instance, I logged 0 mins yesterday, yet I walked the property to check on things, washed the dishes, did laundry. None of these things count. I only count things like yard work, targeted walking where I go for a walk a couple of times a day, and activities like that. 4) Temperature - makes a big difference whether I am inside all day or am outside. It's quite a bit cooler this week. Temps are only around 100F. 5) Deficit. I tried looking up BMR and get different results and several said around 1981. And to maintain my current weight I would need around 2198 calories. I'm going to use this as a baseline, of course it will change as weight drops or increases. So my current formula will be (Deficit = (Calories to Maintain - Calories Ate) + Exercise. I know this isn't any kind of exact science as there are a lot of factors that goes into losing. And it will take several weeks to settle down to see what my body does anyway. If anything, it gives me something to track and shoot for.

Anyway, we'll see how it goes.

i've not done any exercise for about 2/3 weeks. no real excuse tbh, ok the weather hasn't been particularly suitable (i exercise outside) but i just haven't felt the motivation to do any. i must start again!

I hear ya on the exercise! With weather like this it is tough to be motivated.

Well, I seem to not have gotten anywhere this week.
Looks like u gained a couple of lbs after Wild Friday, it must be mostly water. Atleast you haven't gained hardly anything over that week. I like the way u are recording what your deficits are.
 
I would love some rain. it hasn't rained in so long here. We're under severe drought.
that sounds pretty bad tbh. alot of people here say they want hot weather in the uk, i really wonder if it happened if it would be better? i haven't enjoyed the really hot spell we've just been through. better get used to it though as with climate change happening it's going to happen more often.

Well the main reason I adopted wild Friday was because 1) I always felt deprived dieting before. 2) I'd follow the diet religiously (WW at that time) and wouldn't hardly lose. Then I'd give in and splurge a little and then bingo my weight went down. 3) These days, knowing a little bit more about my body (not really), I'm trying to vary things to throw it off so it doesn't get used to the same thing. 4) Last time, I lost down to 245 and then stayed there for 5 months even though I was eating the same. I'm trying to avoid that.

But as of right now, I can't seem to lose weight any more. According to "calculators", I should be losing weight. And I might be losing weight, but retaining water. I feel thinner, but weigh heavier. I'm drinking 5-6 lbs of water a day and have a great propensity to retaining anyway. My legs swell. And this past week hasn't felt as hot. LOL. I know I must sound crazy because the temps have been 102F, but I didn't sweat as much either. And my feet has swollen more over the past couple of days. So I know a lot of it is water. Still, it's frustrating because the scale isn't going down and it feels pretty hopeless.

New plan this week. 1) lower calories. 2) get outside and sweat like I'm an oldie. 3) try to up my exercise more. Still, that was 154 mins of exercise. They recommend about 150 mins a week. I did that. I do need to add some kind of strength training. I know I'm losing muscle.

Anyway....here we go

After a couple of weeks, your body does adjust so you can look forward to that if it does happen. Our hottest summer was 1980. I was here for that one too. This one is considered to be our third hottest on record so far.

that sounds like a good plan! i exercised for the 1st time in a few weeks 2 days ago and i'm aching, i only did a bit! what exercise type are u doing, i assume it's cardio? i've been doing weight resistance training but literally only a bit...like 4 sets per muscle group, 2 muscle groups per day, so 8 sets a day in total. takes me 20-25 mins. but i'm finding it hard getting the motivation to do it...gonna watch pumping iron today for inspiration lol :D
