So what's your secret to losing weight if you don't mind me asking.
no not at all, i've been restricting my cals to about 800 - 1200 per day from a low carb diet, apart from 2 days out of 86 (and counting) have stuck to it. plus light exercise (weights), 20 mins a time 2 or 3 times per week (usually 2 at the moment).

going back to the weather, parts of the UK like London have now been forecast to hit 104 F this tuesday (it will be a UK record if so)! where I am about 200 miles north of that it's been predicted we'll hit 99 F. I'm genuinely apprehensive about it :( not for me but for my dog who is very elderly and in ill health.

Thanks! I hope for the best for you. We just had 11 day in a row over 100 and yesterday there was some freak front or something that came through, dropped it down to 85! I had to break out the winter coat! Now, today is back up. Supposed to be around 105 or so for the next 2 weeks. Ugh.

I'm eating around 2000-2500 a day so that's why I'm not losing. I'm a stress eater. I'd like to cut it down to about 1500. Unfortunately, I don't have any money and carbs are cheaper than anything else.

yeh unfortunately you have many days of of extremely hot weather, for us it's thankfully rare.

yes carbs, junk especially, are the cheapest foods. i live on chicken in various curry sauces to add variety, eggs cooked in various ways, bacon, various cheeses, nuts, wholemeal bread in low amounts. it does get a little repetitive. i don't eat alot which helps keep costs down, 2 meals per day with nibbles sometimes on nuts and cheese here and there.

so you're a stress eater? may i ask, what's causing the stress? i was a boredom eater. eating junk was a way to enjoy myself. food became a something to do thing rather than when i was hungry.

I'm allergic to a lot of foods, although I do try the foods from time to time to see if I can tolerate them such as chicken, eggs, and beef products. I have other food allergies but these are the biggest culprits so I tend to live off of turkey and pork.

Stress these days are different. I worked for 34 years and averaged probably 60 hours a week, so I had money but no time to do anything. These days I have some time. I watch my dad every day. It's not a lot of fun. I make him meals, make sure he has plenty to drink, and clean up after him when he goes to the bathroom. I also so a lot of things like all the yard work, trash, dishes, laundry, etc. It's basically a 24 hr a day job. I "work" the day shift (about 15 hrs) and my nephew watches my dad overnight. I haven't been out of the house since the end of January. And the world situation is something else entirely different. I try not to think about it all. And I'm having more physical problems than I used to so losing weight would really help. It's just so hard to maintain the motivation. Before I had lost down to 243, not fast but steady, and then all of a sudden nothing for 5 months even though I was doing the same thing. I got frustrated and then now ballooned back up to 260. Ugh. I keep telling myself that I really need to get it under control.

well i think you are doing well considering the circumstances. keep the faith about weight loss and you're not grossly overweight at 260, i started at 300. but yeah losing weight does help in many ways. if you've been down to 243 before then u can do it again, and go lower.

i cheated day before yesterday but probably only about 700 cals worth it wasn't a binge it was what u could call a normal treat, a small amount of ice cream and some chocolate biscuits but my weight loss has stagnated as u can see.

Weight sure is a lot easier to gain than lose...

So true...

I was over about 200 calories. I still drank a lot, but even though it was 102F, it didn't feel as hot to me and I didn't sweat as much so back to retaining water. Ugh.
