Hey Tom, I hope you are off that plateau soon, but even if not you are losing fat and doing fine.
My weight varies widely, and I am in maintenance and except for the occasion binge I am not eating more or less calories. Trying for calorie break even. I just went down 16 pounds in about a week, and during that week I binged. I know that loss has nothing to do with fat, its water and maybe the mass of solids in my digestive system. This isn't the first time, and I know it will go back up one day, maybe next week, or it might keep going down, who knows. I have varied by almost 30 lbs in the last 3 months, up and down, with no real changes in calorie intake. My point is your plateau is within the range of "normal" for what you are doing, if you were not in a calorie deficit it probably would have been a gain. I find posting weight every day here helps me understand and cope with it. I have not figured out what the cause of the ups and downs has been. Every time I have a theory the next bounce seems to contradict it... But at least I have learned that.

One thing I have read is that drinking less leads to water retention. Your body is trying to hand on to all the water it can when you don't drink a lot. I am no expert, but in my case I can tell that drinking more liquids does not cause me to gain weight, except for a few hours after drinking it.I usually only drink about 30 oz a da
